GAME THREAD 7-26-2005 SOX vs ROYALS

Holy s***, what awful footwork by Ozuna on that grounder. I would have rather he botched that ball, in an effort to get Ozzie to finally stop playing him at 3b. -

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 03:16 AM) Hell no! If Ozzie knew how to field a team then this s*** wouldn't happen! f*** you Ozuna. That would have been an amazing play by Ozuna. The fact he's such a terrible 3b just made it an impossible play. How do you not blame Buehrle for this? He's the one who's giving up hit after hit with 2 strikes. -

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 03:16 AM) 7 ER against Mark. Ouch. He hasn't pitched so well of late. He's not getting very good defense. -

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 03:15 AM) Buehrles steak of 6 innings=over? It should be...but it won't be. I could care less about the streak. I'd rather we just pull him now, and let him rest up a little. There's nothing to be gained by keeping him out there right now. Who the hell has ever cared about a streak of going 6 innings anyways? -

QUOTE(SHAFTR @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 03:14 AM) at this point, you just let him get through the inning. There isn't anything to lose. Are you kidding me? I'd pull his ass now, and save him from any possible injury. -

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 03:13 AM) WTF IS GOING ON! f***ING s***TY DEFENSE! BUEHRLE IS NOT TO BLAME FOR THIS! Buehrle deserves his fair share of the blame. I can't wait to see Ozzie leave him out there to die in order to keep the 6 inning streak. -

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 03:11 AM) How many games like this do they have to play before Ozzie realizes he can't trot 3 or 4 subs out there at the same time and have a reasonable chance to win the game? I was saying this the whole game, but people just relate it to me b****ing. It's totally inexcusable, and if the Sox were to miss the playoffs by a game, Ozzie should be f***ing fired for something like this s***. I guess Ozzie thought the division was clinched because you have a 12 game lead in July? -

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 03:10 AM) Blame it on Ozuna. When will Ozzie realize he is NOT a 3B??? f*** YOU OZUNA! WAY TO THROW THE f***ING BALL AWAY! YOU ARE NOT A f***ING THRID BASEMAN! GO TO HELL! LEARN HOW TO FIELD AND LEARN HOW TO f***ING THROW YOU PIECE OF s***! It's not Ozuna's fault. If Ozzie would get his head out of his ass, and realize that Ozuna has been a disaster at 3b all season in the field...then maybe he'll stop putting him there. It's time we get rid of Willie Harris, and pick up a back-up 3b. -

Nice f***ing play dips***. Wow, I hate the f***ing mentality of having the B team in. Brings down the level of play for everyone. -

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 03:07 AM) OZUNA IS NOT A 3B Now we got Mike Sweeney getting bunt hits off of us. This is a f***ing joke. Where's all those people now saying we could play our minor leaguers against KC, and destroy them? In baseball, any team can beat another on a given day. -

f*** you B squad. Buehrle has no one to blame but himself for this inning. I said it at the time...you can't give up 0-2 hits to a rookie. -

Ozuna should never be playing 3b! Crede would have made that play. -

Can't be giving up 0-2 leadoff hits to a guy right out of the minors before Sweeney gets up. Not a promising start to the inning. -

Damn, I thought for sure that ball was a double down the line. Lima was up with everything in the zone that inning, and the dynamic 3-4 of Everett and PK prevented any chance of a big inning. Looks like Lima is done for the game. -

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 02:57 AM) Carl has got to be close to seeing the bench more often. Which is why it's so much more important we acquire a bat right now as compared to another starting pitcher. -

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 02:55 AM) To be honest I find it hard to believe you'd give an opposing pitcher credit. The movement on Lima's pitches tonight is just nasty. Fair enough...just the same way I find it hard to believe you'd ever say one negative thing about anything involving the Sox. We've agreed to disagree in the past, and this is just another scenario. -

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 02:54 AM) Translation: Nah I will never give a pitcher credit - our offense sucks. Trust me, there are some games where I think we have no chance against the pitcher. This is not one of those games. Games this year where I thought the pitcher was awesome include the game against Ervin Santana. -

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 02:51 AM) You said you'd give the pitcher credit if you thought he deserved it. Lima has been absolutely awesome tonight, how about giving the pitcher some credit? I disagree that he's been awesome. Lima has poor control tonight, and is getting bailed out by the Sox B squad. Lima is making Wade Miller looks like he had amazing stuff. Even Timo came within a few feet of hitting a 3 run homer against Lima tonight. We've had chances to score some runs, but our players don't seem to be focused at all. -

QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 02:49 AM) Somehow I knew this would happen. We score 14 runs last night, now we're struggling to score two tonight. This is f***ing JOSE LIMA!!! Tell that to our manager. -

Guys are playing with their heads up their asses tonight. It's what happens when you bench 3 starters (I've been making this argument all year, when you play your B squad, your intensity level is severely decreased). -

I'll bring the hookers to the Willie party, because he's going to have to start getting used to paying for sex. -

Lima isn't even coming close to pausing out of the stretch. He should be called for a balk. -

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 02:44 AM) The day Willie Harris is removed from the roster, I am going to have a party. Everytime the guy screws up, and he screws up a lot, it always comes back to hurt the White Sox. HE HAS NO BASEBALL INSTINCTS! -

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 02:39 AM) Him playing two nights in a row is a joke. The funniest thing about that is Iguchi had a great game on Sunday, and he's on the record as saying he doesn't like to sit out because he feels like he loses his rhythm at the plate. -

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 02:39 AM) Anyone else think Willie has last years collision go through his head everytime there's a little pop up like that? It was an injustice to the game of baseball that Ordonez got hurt, and Willie was fine. There was no excuse for Willie on that play. Did he really think he could catch the ball with that glove angle?
