  1. Crede.....please don't pop the ball up weakly here!
  2. QUOTE(JimH @ May 10, 2005 -> 11:36 PM) Plunk him. Morneau's OPS is 1.266 so far this season. 6 homers and 20 RBI in 17 games.
  3. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 10, 2005 -> 11:35 PM) Brian Anderson your plane to chicago is boarding..... Good luck with KW making a move like that. Remember Royce Clayton?
  4. I'd just like to say we were awfully lucky to not have to face Morneau in 5 games this year. He's a monster this season.
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ May 10, 2005 -> 11:32 PM) We should try a pitch-out here with Crawford on 1b. Doesn't make sense not to try it there.
  6. We should try a pitch-out here with Crawford on 1b.
  7. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 10, 2005 -> 11:30 PM) Anyone else tired of Dye? Even his defense has been sub-par so far. Of course we all are. Nothing is going to happen though, especially with the amount of money he's making. Something I've noticed with Dye is that even when he's taking pitches on purpose, he seems to be off-balanced. His body is flying back, while his hands are going away from his body.
  8. I thought Everett was clearly out at home. I'll definitely take the charity though.
  9. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 10, 2005 -> 11:28 PM) Dyepopsitup. One thing we'll both agree on is that Dye and Crede have got to stop swinging straight up. Dye has just an awful approach at the plate right now.
  10. QUOTE(qwerty @ May 10, 2005 -> 06:53 PM) Agreed, dye's defense has been out of this world. Come on, I never said Dye's defense had been good. It's been extremely disappointing. I don't even think he has an assist this season at home plate. However, there's absolutely no comparison between Dye and Everett in the field. Everett hasn't been exactly tearing the cover off the ball lately. Hopefully, Dye will make this a mute point by the time Frank is back.
  11. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 10, 2005 -> 06:50 PM) Either that, or maybe we use Everett to replace Dye for part of the year. (I know people complain about Everett's defense, but really, can he possibly be that much worse than what Dye is doing right now that his hitting won't make up the difference?) Everett is a terrible, terrible outfielder. If Dye continues to slump in the field and at the plate, then maybe you consider putting Everett out there (I'd rather see Anderson get a chance before Everett in the OF). I can't believe people would advocate Everett in the outfield. He only needed one ball hit to him this year to prove he is terrible out there.
  12. Any game that you play Everett in the outfield, you're putting your team at a significant defense disadvantage. Also, there's not a chance that Pods or Rowand should be taken out of the lineup.
  13. If I remember correctly, Singleton also played a huge hand in beating us a few years ago when Colon was facing the A's.
  14. Our lack of patience tonight and swinging at balls out of the zone was pathetic tonight.
  15. Garcia was definitely not getting that low strike call.
  16. I really want to see changes made in the order tomorrow with a lefty on the mound. Let Rowand bat 3rd, move Everett to 5th, and put Uribe in the 7 spot.
  17. Not exactly a good 3-1 swing there by Dye. Bring back Donn Pall, we were undefeated with him!!!!!!!!
  18. QUOTE(qwerty @ May 10, 2005 -> 01:48 AM) Crazy f***er... Wow, that's insane.
  19. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 10, 2005 -> 01:45 AM) Well We've beat the s*** out of the twins and we've beat the s*** out of the tigers who the twins have had some problems with, we MIGHT lose 1 game to tb and I swear it's time to jump off a bridge. For the record, I hope I'm not being grouped into the sky is falling crowd. Was this a game we should have won: yes! However, there's been quite a few games that we should have easily lost this season, and we won them. Big deal, we just need to get more consistent offense, especially quality ABs.
  20. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 10, 2005 -> 01:41 AM) 9 in a row by Lance carter. When we lose to garbage like this, is why no one takes the Sox seriously. We should be killing a team like this. We have for years have had a problem beating crap teams. Detroit loses a record amount of times and we attribute to like 30 percent of their win total. Remember guys this doesnt get easier when we play the Orioles over the weekend. We need to beat crap. Teams lose games in baseball all the time against inferior opponents. It is a little disheartening that the Twins have just come into Tampa and beat the s*** out of this same team. That's something that has really hurt our chances in the past.
  21. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 10, 2005 -> 01:37 AM) 88 for Nomo is plenty, his velocity has been so down these last 2 years that it was just getting killed. His splitty was down in the strike zone all night and had a lot of movement on it. Nomo only reached 88 a few times. His fastball was more around 85 mph. We allowed him to get into a groove by swinging at way too many first pitches, and not putting Tampa in a big hole in the 3rd inning. Right then, you could see the momentum was going to be with the home team.
  22. Interesting. Two outs so far on guys seemingly just sticking their bat out weakly. At least Konerko's was with 2 strikes.
  23. Everett just used the same approach he should have had in the 3rd inning.
  24. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 10, 2005 -> 01:33 AM) We've hit plenty of balls hard tonight and just not finding holes, it seemed that way yesterday also, not making any excuses but it's not like the offense hasn't been taking good swings tonight. Fair enough. Agree to disagree then. I've been thinking this was the worst the offense has looked in a while. Just doesn't seem like a lot of hard hit balls, and most of the hits have been flares.
