  1. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 02:39 AM) Anyone else think Willie has last years collision go through his head everytime there's a little pop up like that? It was an injustice to the game of baseball that Ordonez got hurt, and Willie was fine. There was no excuse for Willie on that play. Did he really think he could catch the ball with that glove angle?
  2. Nice of Timo to take 10 steps before he got rid of the ball. A big f*** you goes out to the B squad tonight.
  3. Why can't we get rid of Willie? He really does look like a minor leaguer out there.
  4. Funny that Hawk didn't give that a "stretch", when it was a lot closer than the ones he's been embarrassing himself on lately.
  5. QUOTE(knightni @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 02:27 AM) Playing on that dead end franchise can wear on you. True, but his reputation for being an ass was around when he was playing in college.
  6. BTW, I was talking to my brother who's got serious connections with the Tampa Bay franchise, and he told me Huff is a total asshole who doesn't get along with his teammates.
  7. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 02:18 AM) LOL. I know. You are a good fan. You want them to win so bad. I understand. You just b**** a lot about small things and lean on the side of pessimistic. Don't worry I'm the same way at times. Not nearly as much this year though. I agree, there's a lot of things I should probably just keep to myself. I did take offense to someone stating how I wouldn't be in the gamethread yesterday cause the Sox were winning early. Since when have I not been in a gamethread, win or loss? Maybe next time, I'll let the person know my schedule so he'll know when I'll be home
  8. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 02:16 AM) I hope Carl gets his s*** together, because I bet KW is looking for another bat to take away some of the playing time he could get. I don't think we'll get him because the price will be too high, but I would love to have A. Huff on this team. I don't care what his numbers are....whenever I watch him, he's hitting the ball hard.
  9. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 02:15 AM) Sorry milkman. It just seems like as of late Willie gets ripped on no matter what he does. I've expressed my displeasure with Willie but some times there's just nothing you can do. The biggest thing that pisses me off with Willie is just that he seems to have no Baseball IQ. He does a great job of working the count usually, but he still doesn't have the art of fouling off the close pitch. Then, in the field, while he has very good range, he still doesn't complete the play for some reason. He's like the WR you see who has great size and speed, but just doesn't catch the ball after blowing by the wide receiver.
  10. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 02:14 AM) There you go Fathom. I still stand by what I say, but it doesn't matter. I'm a Sox fan, and I'll root for everyone to do good if they're wearing the Sox jersey.
  11. Wow, well done Ozuna. Too bad that ball didn't bounce harder off the wall away from Brown, it could have been an inside the parker.
  12. That was vintage Willie from last season. Work the count well, and then take the 3-2 pitch that's a clear strike.
  13. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 02:03 AM) why the hell is harris starting tonight. he started last night. Ugh i hate these B Lineups that Ozzie puts out. I hope no one turns this into a "Fathom b****ing just to b**** post", but against someone like Lima who makes a ton of mistakes, you want hitters in the lineup who will make him pay for hanging a slider, etc. A great example was the 2nd batter of the game, where Ozuna got a 2-0 hanger, and just hit a weak flyball to CF. Besides the fact that it should have been a hit-and-run, most players in baseball would have hit that pitch a mile.
  14. Willie showing he has absolutely no baseball instincts yet again. That dumbass better not cost us any runs here.
  15. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 01:57 AM) Lima's got a s***load of movement on his pitches so far, our guys have to be patient and get some counts and make him get the ball up. Lima can definitely get in a rhythm and keep the ball down if you help him out. Don't get me started on tonight's lineup though. I have no problem getting your benchers some playing time....but why all in the same game basically?
  16. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 01:49 AM) Not really inconsistent. Streaky. He goes on tears where he can't be caught (which last much, much longer than the droughts), but then he has about 10 games straight where he gets caught or picked off. I'm willing to bet there's a strong correlation to how good the catcher is that he's running against. Pods does a great job of taking off at will against poor throwing catchers. However, when he faces the better throwing catchers, he's not as aggressive (nor should he be).
  17. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 01:43 AM) That's what I'm saying. The last time he had a slump, it lasted well over a week, I think. It wouldn't surprise me if he had another slump similar to that. Last time, he wasn't getting thrown out at 2nd base. His slump a few months ago was when he was getting picked off too much.
  18. Gonna be hard for Pods to steal on Lima with the wet field. That's why Ozuna should be doing a hit-and-run whenever he has the opportunity.
  19. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 01:37 AM) Hey, Pablo. Never hit the ball in the air again! Pablo is ideal for the hit-and-run.....and on a 2-0 pitch especially!
  20. QUOTE(dmbjeff @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 01:07 AM) come on timo, come on timo. Wow, there is a great Ozzie Guillen joke just waiting to be made.
  21. For anyone that hasn't seen the 2004 Sox highlight tape, it's on now!
  22. Wasn't Bryce Florie on the Red Sox when he got drilled in the face with a liner? His career was basically over after the incident.
  23. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 04:50 AM) I highly doubt Young or Bmac would be included in a deal for Eyre. Schimdt though is an entirely different story. Remember this aspect of any trade: Ozzie loves Ryan Sweeney. Of all the minor league players, I feel like Sweeney is the one guy Ozzie wouldn't want to give up.
  24. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 04:50 AM) Should be an interesting 6 days, all I know is I really want to the 31st to get here all these rumors are making me crazy. It sure is fun though. The funny thing is that we analyze things so much, but it could be a little thing like Scott Eyre retiring Jim Edmonds for the 3rd out in the 8th inning of game 7 of the WS, and that would be the biggest out of the Sox season. However, there would be some people that would be freaking out about losing some prospects that they've likely never even seen play in the minors. I guarantee you that the Red Sox never though D. Roberts would be so important to them in the playoffs. However, his stolen base was as big of a play as anything in their WS run last season.
