  1. We're letting Sweeney beat us on inside pitches for the most part. If he's going to beat us, let's make him do it to the opposite field.
  2. QUOTE(El Piervizdyeguchansodnik @ May 5, 2005 -> 12:49 AM) AJ needs to step up on his defense. This is getting old. I agree, but that was Uribe's fault on that throw. The runner would have been safe even if A.J. caught that ball.
  3. Good throw would have had him easily out at home. Good defense has saved Garcia this inning though.
  4. Good play by Rowand there to save a triple. Does it seem to anyone else that Garcia doesn't use his little changeup/splitter much anymore? I remembered him throwing a lot more of that pitch last season when we first got him.
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ May 5, 2005 -> 12:37 AM) Repeat after me Pk and company: Level Swings Very good swing by Dye there. Nice to see him drive the ball to the opposite field.
  6. I honestly have no complaints if Pods will try to steal on the first or second pitch every time he gets on base, especially against a righty. We need to get some things going on the bases.
  7. Why did they choose Paul to be an announcer? He sounds like he's going through puberty.
  8. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 5, 2005 -> 12:11 AM) I think it's time to just pitch around Sweeney Yeah, a massive hanging curve is never a good idea to a hitter who has 4 homers in 2 games. Luckily it stayed in the park.
  9. Great pitches to Stairs there. Wasn't sure if the ump was gonna call that last pitch.
  10. Watch Pods try to steal 3rd here. Hopefully he can make sure he'll make it if he tries. Iguchi = L. Ford!
  11. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ May 4, 2005 -> 01:56 AM) Anderson is not a strikeout pitcher...unless you stand there and don't swing. As you know, Anderson was no longer in the game. Instead, it was Wood, who Crede didn't look very comfortable against.
  12. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ May 4, 2005 -> 01:52 AM) But, if Crede swings at the pitch right down the middle, and god forbid gets a hit, you might have AJ on 3rd. Based on the aggressiveness of AJ there, I highly doubt his intentions were to steal a base there. Yes, but you know if Crede strikes out there, it's a guaranteed double play. A.J. wasn't even half way to 2nd base when the throw got there it seemed. If A.J. was running better, then it wouldnt be as peculiar of a move.
  13. That pitch Crede took was a high sinker. He could have hit it a long way......even though he probably would have just popped it up.
  14. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ May 4, 2005 -> 01:49 AM) Well Crede could have done something besides stare at a strike. Yes, but A.J. can't run a LICK right now.
  15. That's the difference between being aggressive....and just being stupid. Now, we dont have our main base stealer leading off next inning.
  16. Come on, what the f*** is that Ozzie? That's just being stupid.
  17. Carlos Lee just gave the Brewers a 2-1 lead over the Cubs!
  18. Why does it seem like a lot of our guys aren't even swinging with authority tonight?
  19. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 4, 2005 -> 01:41 AM) I totally agree. Aaron hits lefties well. Mike Wood comes on for Anderson. And Everett is pretty bad against lefty pitching. His approach isn't good from that side.
  20. More material for my campaign to get Rowand in the 3 hole against lefties. I can't see any reason why not. Rowand is great against lhp.
  21. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ May 4, 2005 -> 01:38 AM) Every season it seems we have the: "The Sox need to beat the weaker teams" saga. Everyone is going to have an off-night, but if we ever want to compete with the back-to-back-to-back AL Central Division champs, we are going to have to get the W's against the team's we should be beating. The Twins destroy teams like KC. That's why we have so much trouble hanging with them.
