White Sox @ Tribe Game Thread (4/14, 6:05 p.m. CT)

QUOTE(sircaffey @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 11:41 PM) Why the hell are you getting mad at Ozzie? Where do you expect Carl to play when Frank comes back. He sure as hell isn't going to be DHing a lot. Carl needed to get work in in the OF. Oh well, s*** happens. In no way is this Ozzies fault, period. All I know is that Everett is an absolute disaster in the outfield. In a way, Everett/Ozzie/KW got lucky that Frank was hurt, so they don't have a 4 million dollar bench player. A pitcher won't have a lot of success with Everett in the field, especially someone like El Duque who gives up a lot of flyballs. -

QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 11:37 PM) Were you complaing before the game? On last nights game thread, I was saying how we need another right handed hitting outfielder. Someone mentioned Everett, and I said he should never be playing in the outfield, as he's an absolute disaster out there. So, to answer your question, yes I was complaining before the game. -

Seriously, what was Ozzie expecting by putting him in the outfield? Everyone in baseball knows that the past few years, he was the worst outfielder in baseball. Not only that, Everett's not exactly someone who's learned to avoid injuries. And what do you know.....one play hit to him, it cost us 2 runs, and he hurt himself. -

If Everett has to go on the DL, we might be the worst offensive team in the majors now. -

Ozzie's tinkering is out of control, and it's only the 9th game of the season. Now, we just lost our best hitter by far this season because Ozzie's a f***ing dumbass. -

Nice one Ozzie, you dumbass. If you're not going to play Gload or Timo in the outfield, then there's no reason to have them on the team. -

I hope that one play shuts up anyone from ever saying he should be in the field again. -

That's why you don't play Everett in the f***ing field! Absolutely no f***ing excuse for him to ever play in the field. -

Tough play for Uribe there. I'm still concerned about his fielding, he seems 5 times less confident in the field than he was last season. -

Just like to say thank you to the Indians for messing up that bunt. There's no reason we didn't use Harris in that situation either to bunt or on the bases. I'll take it though. -

QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 01:51 AM) Did Pablo get hurt? No, he was pinch hit for by Timo with Miller on the mound, who's a tough righty. It was the correct call. -

I agree it will be Hermanson. The Indians have their 1-2-3 up next inning, and all of them are lefties. -

QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 01:49 AM) Was he? The Indians announcers aren't really saying much about it. I thought A.J. came up short on his slide, and Boone tagged him out before he actually reached the base. -

Holy cow did we get lucky there. A.J.'s slide seemed to take forever. We need to get this run in here. -

Ozzie.....let Willie bunt for Crede if you're going to call for the bunt! If you're not going to use Willie to bunt or pinch-run, there's no reason to have him on the roster! -

Fantastic at-bat by A.J. there! We should have Willie pinch run for A.J. -

Good job by Vizcaino. I want to see the Juan Uribe of 2004 back. The same guy who would throw rockets over to first base and hit the ball hard on a consistent basis (he wouldn't be the first MLB player to stop working hard after receiving a big guaranteed contract). -

QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 01:35 AM) I never thought much of Wickman, but on a 3-2 pitch to Rowand he suckered him on that low one out of the strike zone Problem for Wickman was that he gave Rowand 2 meatballs right over the plate that could have been hit quite far. I'm not sure why he's not throwing his sinker more. -

With the wind blowing in so much, we have way too many players who've been swinging for the fences tonight. Also, Dye looks awful at the plate. He seems to have absolutely no balance, and he hasn't hit a ball hard in a while. -

QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 01:22 AM) Broussard strikes out. Marte bringing it tonight. Would have been nice to see Marte in to face Sizemore. Oh well, that's second guessing....and Contreras had been pitching well (even though he was over 100 pitches). -

QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 01:18 AM) We are swinging the bat terrible right now. I know its been mentioned a million times but I know we are gonna improve. I just hope its soon, its either because we been facing good pitching or just cause they aint in their groove. I'm shocked at how many few solid hits we've got in this Indians series. Very few balls have been squarely hit, and some players (Uribe, Dye) look like he couldn't hit a little league pitcher. -

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 01:17 AM) Fathom, that'll be Carl Everett soon enough I guess I don't think Frank will be back anytime soon. Also, Everett isn't exactly an outfield option, IMO.
