  1. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ May 4, 2005 -> 01:21 AM) WTF Mark, why are you even giving Sweeney pitches to hit? I swear that Ozzie is more scared of facing Matt Stairs than he is of Mike Sweeney.
  2. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ May 4, 2005 -> 01:19 AM) Based on how he hits us, is there a hitter in the bigs that you like to see less than Mike Sweeney? He's not the best out there, but he absolutely kills us. And we always let him beat us.
  3. Ah, the old lazy pop up to the right side. I used to call that the "Graffanino special"
  4. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ May 4, 2005 -> 01:16 AM) With the exception of Gooch and Dye, our offense looks clueless tonight. Crede and A.J. have awful bat speed right now. I know they're both banged up, but they're barely getting the bat through the zone.
  5. Like I was saying, way to come close to hitting a homer Iguchi!
  6. Mays is getting rocked for the Twins. Westbrook finally getting some run support.
  7. Konerko.......use a level swing! After having a good AB, he swung straight up there. Also, where did Rowand's power to the opposite field go? Seems like he has warning track power this year after being able to get those over the fence last year.
  8. The funny thing is that I wanted to just have a nice game tonight, like Sunday, without anything to complain about. Then, they go and do that s*** in the first inning, and totally pisses me off.
  9. That play is all the fault of Tim Raines. He's the one who has to tell Everett that Sweeney is behind him.
  10. Wake the f*** up Everett and Raines. That's about as stupid of a play I've ever seen.
  11. QUOTE(El Piervizdyeguchansodnik @ May 4, 2005 -> 12:14 AM) Hawk's eyesight has gotta be going on him. That ball was not hit deep. For Pods so far this season, that was a blast. Have Pods or Iguchi come within 50 feet of a homer this year? Not that I'm complaining about it, just wondering.
  12. Someday, we're going to realize that Sweeney will hurt us if we continue to challenge him. Not sure why Buehrle was trying to throw an inside fastball on a 3-2 count to the only threat in KC's lineup. Oh well, we need to score some runs tonight anyways.
  13. I heard Uribe and Dye are in the lineup tonight. That would be a nice addition for our lineup vs a lefty.
  14. Anyone know who's playing SS tonight? Also, A.J. will likely start tonight, and then Widger will start Thursday's day game after a night game.
  15. Vizcaino is not a very reliable reliever. Two seasons ago, he was one of the worst relievers in baseball. Also, he's lost a few mph off of his fastball. He used to throw about 94 mph with a slider and a splitter. However, he's been throwing almost all sliders to go along with a 91 mph fastball. Politte has been much more impressive so far.
  16. The reason I say Dee's stock won't go higher is that it would take MASSIVE improvements in his game to become a NBA style point guard. I love Dee, but he's basically a catch and shoot player in the halfcourt. I can count the times he penetrated the lane in the halfcourt offense on one hand. Dee doesn't have one-on-one ability, doesn't have a mid range game at all, is a poor finisher, and doesn't know how to draw contact. If you look at someone like Nate Robinson, their NBA readiness couldn't be different. N-Rob has great body control and penetration/passing ability in the halfcourt. I also don't know if Dee will shoot nearly as well as he did this year, next year. The opposition won't have to worry about the Illini have a guy like Head and Deron to also cover.
  17. QUOTE(shagar69 @ May 2, 2005 -> 05:14 AM) well if he did leave i think it would be a dumb move. He will be a second round pick at the highest. If he stays he will be the man next year with head and dwill gone and will have a great opportunity to really show off his skills, esp. his shooting and offensive skills. Dee's stock will never be higher. Even if he stays and plays pg next year, there's already a handful of guys who will likely be in the draft (Gibson, D-Wash, Diaz, Brewer, Collins) that would be picked above him at the pg spot.
  18. QUOTE(shagar69 @ May 2, 2005 -> 04:57 AM) really, i thought that Dee was comin back for sure. where did you hear otherwise Once Dee makes his decision, I'll be happy to share the information I know about the situation with you. Until then, I'll just wait to see what really happens. In no way though is it a lock he'll be back.
  19. Two things: - There's a much better chance of Dee leaving then people think. I'd say it's 50/50. - Semrau is going to free fall in the rankings unfortunately. He had an awful tournament last wknd, with one major recruiting scout wondering what the hell happened to him. Hopefully it doesn't turn into another David Palmer episode.
  20. QUOTE(qwerty @ May 1, 2005 -> 09:25 PM) It was big news coming out of detroit that they were gonna cut him. They decided not to once ordonez got injured. They definitely were going to cut Higginson. Tigers have cut high-priced guys in the past, like D. Easley.
  21. Iguchi is doing his best Lew Ford impression lately. Great to see that compared to other hitters constantly popping up.
