  1. Question for anyone: When's the last time we tried a hit-and-run? Against a sinkerballer like Saarloos, you have to know A.J. is likely to hit into a DP.
  2. Rowand is definitely seeing the ball better now. That 3-2 pitch is the same bulls*** slider he was whiffing on for the first few weeks of the season.
  3. QUOTE(whitesoxfan13 @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 07:50 PM) Pop up to Jd. inning over, 1-0 sox Thought that ball was gone off the bat. Garcia's fastball doesn't seem to have a lot of zip on it so far, hopefully he'll get stronger as game goes on.
  4. Lets just be happy Garcia isn't an extreme sinker ball pitcher. I could just imagine what this would be like if Brandon Webb or Westbrook were pitching with this left side of the infield.
  5. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 07:44 PM) Well, we have continued our streak....we have had the lead in all our games. Let's go Freddie. I love that statistic that the Sox have been in the lead every game this year.
  6. Wow, I thought for a second there that Rowand was going to get injured crashing into the fence. I guess I'm a little gun-shy after the last few games.
  7. Dye is now 1 for 15 with RISP. Ozzie, please lower him in the lineup.
  8. Wow, good job by PK and Everett there. That's a great time for Cora to send the runners. If that was with no outs, then he's risking it.
  9. Anyone else realize we have one homer in like the last 57 innings or so?
  10. Iguchi is banged up. Gload is also banged up, which totally eliminates any idea of putting PK at 1b.
  11. Well, at least the Uribe injury doesn't sound extremely serious. I have no problem if we lose this game today, but losing Uribe to the DL would have really hurt us.
  12. One thing though: If Uribe and Ozuna are both unable to play on Friday, then KW needs ot make a roster move and call up someone.
  13. Is it too late to pray for rain in Oakland? I'm sure they get at least one game rained out every 10 years. Why can't this be it?
  14. I wonder if the rumored lineup is accurate? If so, prepare for a game full of holding your breath everytime the ball is hit.
  15. Why would the Cubs want Politte? They have enough righties in their bullpen who have two pitches.....a 95 mph fastball and a slider.
  16. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 05:50 AM) Wasn;t the bats that shafted him. Like I said earlier. Dye and the Umps ran a train on him with terrible calls and errors. Buehrle got a 3 run lead twice in this game, including one heading into the bottom of the 7th. Out of everyone being blamed tonight, his on-field performance was the single thing that cause the Sox to lose. He couldn't get his pitches down tonight, and the A's were able to just serve the ball into the outfield against him. If Hermanson really was able to go tonight, I would have loved to see Vizcaino start the 7th though.
  17. QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 05:45 AM) If we lose tomorrow the game thread should be interesting... We'll be the first story on ESPN and BBTN likely so they can say how we're just a fluke and crashing back down to earth.
  18. Uribe's looked to be the most serious. Remember, Podsednik was out for about a week with a minor groin strain. I'll be pleasantly surprised if Uribe plays this weekend.
  19. To be honest, we need Ozuna a hell of a lot more than Willie. We need a righty versatile player off the bench, as well as a backup SS. I'll be a happy man if I never have to see Willie play SS again.
  20. Timo needs to be cut the second Thomas comes off the DL, but good luck getting KW to admit that he shouldn't have paid any more than the minimum for Timo to come back to the Sox.
  21. Prediction for tomorrow's lineup: Lf- Pods 2b- Harris DH- Everett 1b- Konerko Rf- Dye Cf- Rowand 3b- Crede C- A.J. SS- Ozuna
  22. QUOTE(3E8 @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 05:34 AM) That diving play by Ginter with the bags loaded was huge. If he doesn't make that, we win. Yeah, there were 3 big plays that really cost the Sox on offense tonight: - Ozuna's DP - Kotsay gunning out "Piano-back" Iguchi at home - Ginter's diving play on Podsednik's grounder
  23. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 05:32 AM) So how did Willie do tonight? His excellent glovework and bat sure helped us win tonight. Willie didn't ground into a double play with runners on 1st and 3rd, one out though. Both Ozuna and Willie had bad games today. I don't get this pissing contest at all.
