Nice swing by Dye there. It would be great if he started going the opposite way down in the count like he always seemed to do against us in the past. -

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 04:37 AM) You would be b****ing if the Sox were 20-0 right now. :headshake Don't you have Ozuna to promote some more? I don't want to make this a pissing contest, but you've sure been quiet tonight compared to last night when Ozuna was doing good. -

QUOTE(whitesoxeducator @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 04:34 AM) im sure you all could do a better job than ozzie, so why are you all here? don't you people have 31 other teams to coach? No offense, but that's the lamest f***ing comeback in these types of arguments. I guarantee you that there'are a TON of people that could do a better job than a lot of the managers in MLB. If you honestly think that letting Buehrle start that inning against two righties was a smart decision, then I don't know what to say. -

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 04:32 AM) Did you even see the play? Hatteberg stepped out of the box. It was a horrible call by the ump. :rolly Umpire didn't call timeout. If he did, then it would have been a terrible call. However, just cause a player steps out, doesn't mean you can break your hands like that from the stretch. -

QUOTE(rcpweiner @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 04:31 AM) This is a joke, right? I mean ... it seems like you're blaming the balk on Ozzie ... No, I'm blaming Ozzie for letting Buehrle start that inning when he had been lucky to survive 5 innings in this game. -

QUOTE(thomsonmi @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 04:29 AM) I'm sorry but given the way we are playing as a team I find that opinion moronic. You have a right to that opinion but I also have a right to think your opinion is stupid. We've gone from a station to station team with bad pitching and poor defense to the complete opposite and so far so good. And, clearly Ozzie was the guy pushing for the change. And, every game there is situation after situation like runners moving with the count full and one out, hit and run plays, and various things. Here's the one thing I want to see from my manager on a consistent basis: Put the team in the best chance to succeed that game. Yes, there will be games where the other team hits a big 3 run homer or the other pitcher throws a gem. However, I do have a problem with the manager obviously lets his team down with his decisions on lineups and pitching strategies/bullpen use. -

Interesting decision by Ozzie to bring in a lefty to face Kielty. Kielty is rakes lefty pitching, but sucks vs rhp. -

QUOTE(whitesox91403 @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 04:23 AM) f*** You Ozzie, I'm tired of your stupid decisions Ozzie was playing this like we had a 5 run lead. The funny thing is that everyone in the world could see that Buehrle was finished besides for the one person who gets paid to make those decisions. -

Great job Ozzie. It's the 7th inning, pull a pitcher after they allow 2 straight hits. -

With 2 righties starting the inning, maybe should have let a reliever start the inning. Byrnes is 5 times a better hitter vs lefties. -

QUOTE(valponick @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 04:15 AM) Nah, I think Willie at SS, he showed some promise there during ST and Iguchi has never played anything but 2B. Thanks buddy, I totally forgot about that. -

Willie to 2nd base, and Iguchi to SS if Ozuna is hurt? -

QUOTE(valponick @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 04:11 AM) It's Major League Baseball man, 162 game season, people are going to get hurt unless you field a squad of 25 Cal Ripken Jr's. I'm well aware of that. In the last few days, we had Contreras with the hammy, and even El Duque came up lame after a plate at first plate. A.J. has the toe problem after being hit, and Iguchi, Crede, and Uribe have been banged up all in this series. However, I'm very grateful that there's been nothing too serious yet. All you have to do is look to the Scrubs to see how quickly season ending injuries can occur......AND NOW OZUNA IS BANGED UP! -

QUOTE(valponick @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 04:10 AM) Relax man, Juan will be fine. If you have ever pulled your groin before, or even just tweaked it you'll find that it tends to feel MUCH worse than it usually is. It's a sensitive muscle but also heals quickly if you take care of it. I've also seen plenty of players that go on the DL with groin strains. Of course, this isn't a Nomar-like situation (hopefully). However, groin strains can be an injury that takes a few weeks to heal completely. -

Who's our starting SS if Uribe goes on the DL? Ozuna? I don't think we have anyone in the minors who's ready to contribute. -

QUOTE(3E8 @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 04:05 AM) You can't predict injuries. I agree, but the stuff I read was that he totally blew off his rehab from some of his injuries, and it became common knowledge among the front office and players. I'm sure there's probably some truth to it, and some of the same "politics" that we've seen with every Sox player who's left town.
