  1. Who's the next contestant in the number 5 starter contest? Diaz, Cotts, ? What a freaking joke.

    Stewart

Like I said in the thread, I have a feeling this is the last game Stewart will ever start for the Sox. He's not a major league starter.
  3. Ozzie's going to have a tough choice here between trying to get Stewart the win or taking him out before the game gets too close. Hopefully Stewart can make it 5.

    Stewart

The biggest problem I see with Stewart is that his fastball is way too straight. If you throw 87 mph in the majors, you need some movement or sink to it. Rather, his fastball just sits on a platter for the batter.
  5. Umpire has a total different zone for the Indians pitchers than he has for Stewart so far. The last pitch to Rowand was a strike, but the one before it was nowhere close.
  6. Yeah, Stewart has been getting squeezed from the very first batter on. Of all the pitchers on this team, he's the last pitcher on this team that can succeed w/this type of umpire.
  7. Stewart isn't going to make it out of the 2nd inning. The Indians have been playing pepper with the left centerfield wall. I hope this is the last start Stewart ever has with the Sox.
  8. One huge difference between Rowand and Hunter, Damon, Kotsay, and Wells is that Rowand isnt making the large amount of money that these guys are. What's Rowand's contract status?
  9. 6-2...Indians are lauching balls off of Stewart, who looks like a deer in the headlights.
  10. Considering that Loaiza will want more than double that 4 million, that's a great deal for the Sox. There has also been talk that the Sox could try to make Contreras a closer. That could be interesting. All I remember about Contreras is how he absolutely dominated a good Sox lineup last year at end of season.
  11. Any note of how much the cash was for Contreras? Also, for anyone complaining about giving up Loaiza, remember this stat: 2 of his last 11 starts have been quality starts. J. Navarro could have done that.
  12. This is a tremendous deal by KW!! Loaiza isn't anywhere near as good as he was last year, and there was no way he was coming back. Hopefully, we got a lot of money from the Yanks to pay the next 3 yrs of Contreras salary. Think of it this way: If he was a prospect, he'd be as high of a pitching prospect that existed in mlb. I would love him w/Buehrle, Garcia, and Garland next year. Way to go KW.
  13. And you know what? They aren't coming back this season.
  14. Seriously, what in the hell was KW and company thinking when they made Borchard untradable, but were willing to give up J. Reed? Borchard looks as hopeless in the majors as any prospect I've seen in a long time. The Bears need a 3rd string QB Joe.
  15. Jose couldn't have a big uppercut in his swing if he tried right now.
  16. It's beyond amazing how predictable this team has become. Did anyone actually think Marte wouldnt walk Higgy there, or that Borchard would make contact? Who's up for predictions on Valentin? I say strike out on a change up.
  17. Give it up buddy. I hate those northside f***ers.
  18. This has hbp or wild pitch or walk written all over it. come on Marte!
  19. He put Timo in to run for Everett right before Borchard was batting. He could have easily put Sandy in at 1b, and had Timo bat for Borchard and go into RF. Like many will say, Sandy can't run, so why put him on the bases. Well, what's the point of having someone on your team if they can't even pinch run.
  20. Also, looks like Everett could be out for a while with a leg injury. You have to question trading your top pitching prospect for someone who's out of shape and injury prone. This is why Floyd would have been a terrible choice.
  21. I've seen enough. Ozzie is an absolute horses*** manager! Why in the f*** do you have Borchard bat in a situation where you need contact when he's a massive strikeout hitter? Timo is a contact hitter who has gotten some clutch hits this year. Instead, Ozzie decides to sit on his hands and do nothing. Ozzieball, it's pathetic!
  22. Seriously, why is Willie in the majors? There's nothing that he does well. I'd rather have B. Nelson playing 2b, at least he can switch hit. Willie is the most fundamentally unsound non-power hitter I've ever seen.
  23. You have to love the veteran presence that Lee, Konerko, and Valentin are providing right now.
  24. You really think that enough trades can be made to fix this team right now? Basically, the offseason from last year is catching up to us. We didnt really sign more than 1 or 2 free agents after losing about 6 major league players.
  25. Are you kidding about Uribe? I think he's been the best defensive infielder the Sox have had in a long time. His arm is incredibly accurate, and doesnt seem to boot any plays. BTW, how piss poor is Willie's arm? I can count 3 triples the last week that he could have easily thrown the person out on.
