This inning, we're swinging at balls, and taking strikes. Maybe I should go back into the car!
-
Yuck. We're keeping C.C. in this game. Big AB for Rowand here.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 12:35 AM) About as good of speed as there is in baseball. Yeah, you'd be hard pressed to find two slower players on the bases ever in the history of baseball.
-
Wow, not a good AB by Everett at all.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 12:33 AM) Broken bat single by Pauly. 2 on, no out, lets get a few more. Good speed on the bases

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 12:31 AM) A lot of those balls that have just missed the line haven't been hit that hard so look at it anyway you wish. Thanks, like I said, I was just listening. Rooney and Farmer make every ball off the bat seem like a rocket. He scared the s*** out of me last night on the last out of the game.

Judging by listening to the game on the radio and from what I've seen since I've been home, have the Indians just been hitting into a lot of bad luck tonight? Lots of liners at people and just barely missing doubles down the line?
-
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 12:26 AM) I believe that was it. Wow, good for him. That was probably the worst defensive play of the season so far for the Sox this year, and he made it in to a positive.

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 12:24 AM) Good play by Tadahito. ZERO errors in his last 30 games. Was his last error that play in the 9th inning against the Angels?
-
BTW, is Marte ok?
-
Hey guys, just got back in time to see that bad call at 3rd base. I'm not a big fan of running when someone has 2 strikes, especially Iguchi. And there's DJ making my point. I'm not sure 4 runs will be enough, but better to be up 4-1 than down 4-1 right now.

If there's one player I'm sure wasn't on the roids, it's Mike Lowell. With his cancer history, I highly doubt he'd be willing to jeopardize his health by taking steroids.

Well, this article can be summed up like this: If Gload was a latino player, he'd be on this team. Everyone knows that Timo is basically Uribe's translator. It's not like we're a team loaded with young latin players.
-
Here's my last thought on this issue: We have two players on our team that can play a competent 3rd base in Crede and Uribe. Ozzie has shown no desire to move Uribe to 3rd base, and let Ozuna play SS. Thus, when you have a guy with a back injury like Crede that likely won't completely heal this season, it's imperative you have a competent back-up at the position to give Crede a rest.

I watched Leiter pitch against the Cubs last Sunday, and he sucked beyond belief. His WHIP is god awful this season in a pitcher's park. The guy seems afraid to throw a strike. I'd rather have Todd Ritchie than Leiter.
-
This article makes me sick. I was feeling pretty content with all things Sox tonight, but some of the stuff said in this article is a bunch of crap to me. Combined with the article on Crede's disc problem, and I think it's integral that KW finds a back-up 3b. Ozuna is flat out not an option at 3b.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 15, 2005 -> 03:12 AM) fathom, as impressive as Contreras was, Damaso looked fantastic. I'm excited about both of them but if we can get the Damaso of 03 back, look out. Yeah, I was following it online, and then heard the 9th inning on the radio. Why does it seem like every time we face the Indians, Hafner always bats in the 9th inning? I was happy to hear Ozzie was going to let Marte face Hafner, as Hafner just destroys RHP.
-
Just got home, but seems like I missed a very well pitched game. Very big win tonight by Contreras, as it gets us started off well for the 2nd half.
-
Vlad has terrible range in the outfield. He lumbers when he runs, and if it wasn't for his great arm, the Angels would probably use him as their DH. Vlad typically makes about 10 errors per year in the outfield.
-
I hope Kevin Walker is ready to face Jim Edmonds later in this game.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 12:58 AM) He comes in, in the bottom of the 9th, al down 1, man on 2nd and 3rd, he gets the game winning hit. Yet Jeckle would still say it's the wrong move. Even I would rather have seen Timo in that situation on Sunday than whoever he ph for.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 12:56 AM) Corpseball Well done

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 12:53 AM) When those hits are recorded by guys named Abreu and Pujols...well, there just isn't much you can do about it. An ace would have K'd those guys!
-
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 12:52 AM) Now personally...it's still this next group of people that I've been waiting to see. Damon, Arod, Ortiz, Ramirez if anyone gets on. This is one hell of a scary lineup. So you mean basically the top of the Red Sox order?

I think someone needs to bring up that thread from the past about the continual decline of Mark Buehrle. Sure is a pathetic decline he's had in his career. He should be ashamed of giving up 2 hits in the All-Star game!
