  1. Anyone else feel like the Indians hitters aren't cashing in on a lot of very hittable pitches? VMart had some great pitches to hit that AB, but fouled them off.
  2. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 06:39 PM) God I hate those drums. This place is almost as annoying as Oakland. Almost being the key word there. We've won more games this wknd in Cleveland than we have in 10 years in Oakland, it seems.
  3. Garland seems to be throwing a lot more change-ups than usual. He needs to keep that pitch down, as it's the pitch in his arsenal he gets hit the hardest.
  4. QUOTE(Cubs Suck23 @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 06:33 PM) On the chisox.com message board it mentions that Gammons reported that Burnett&Lowell will be going to the Whitesox. Did anyone in Chicago hear this No
  5. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 06:28 PM) Our offense is really starting to heat up. This isn't a bad staff we're beating up either. If we can just get Dye back to the monster he was for about the last month and a half, we'll really take off.
  6. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 06:28 PM) Right when I started criticizing him. That a boy Paul make me eat crow, I love it. Yeah, welcome to my world where you criticize someone like Frank in the middle of an awful 0-5 game against the Tigers, and then he homers in the 13th inning to really make you look like an idiot!
  7. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 06:27 PM) Aaron up to .285 Almost every hit is going to the opposite field now. He's staying on the ball a lot longer than he was earlier in the year.
  8. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 06:23 PM) Why don't you call him up and tell him that. I'm sure he'd take it to heart!!!! Well, when Hawk is laughing at the approach, you know there's something to it. I'm not criticizing Frank, just making a pretty simple observation that he's having a hell of a time trying to find a consistent approach at the plate.
  9. Frank really seems to be in a funk having consistent swings at the plate. He just needs to stick with one approach, and go from there.
  10. This umpire continues to absolutely blow. That 0-2 pitch to Broussard was an obvious strike.
  11. Well, scratch everything I just said. Game on.
  12. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 06:06 PM) The thing I fear is the team having to use the pen for 8 innings and than they'll have nothing left in the tank for tomorrow's game against Detroit. Especially with Duque going. Don't forget that Hermanson might not be available today. I'm beginning to think it might be in our best interest that if this delay goes for another hour or so, we'd rather it just get cancelled.
  13. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 05:56 PM) It would be like that talk early in the off-season of Pods replacing Rowand in CF. I was throwing up at the thought of that. Me too! Especially considering the reason at the time was they wanted to save Rowand from having to exert himself too much in the outfield. Considering that Pods is the speed guy, that reasoning made no sense to me at all. Thankfully, it worked out well.
  14. When Elarton was in the bullpen with the Astros, he was awesome. He looked better than Oswalt did when Oswalt pitched out of their pen. We're in a bad situation if this rains lasts too long. No reason to risk putting Garland back into the game.
  15. Wow, a bomb to center by AJP. Why in the world would you ever pitch him a first pitch fastball right down the plate?
  16. Nothing worse than an umpire who won't call the low strike with a sinker pitcher on the mound.
  17. QUOTE(Cubs Suck23 @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 05:20 PM) WTF should be 2 outs already Yeah, Garland has to maintain his composure, and not risk being ejected. Kerry Wood would have been tossed by now.
  18. QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 05:18 PM) That was a f***ing Strike. Yes it was. Hopefully, Garland will pitch over it, and we won't have to hear Hawk b**** all game about the strike zone, like he did last Sunday.
  19. That was as close to an infield single as Thomas will get all season.
  20. It would be great to jump on the Indians early today, and put all the pressure on them.
  21. QUOTE(Cubs Suck23 @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 05:01 PM) Ozzie said in his pregame show that Hermanson back has been really stiff the last few days. So we might not see him pitch today He seems to have been battling back problems all season. Maybe KW might want to worry less about getting a 5th starter, and be more interested in a closer? It's interesting how every week, it seems there's something different that KW should be trying to do.
  22. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 04:57 PM) So we trade Rowand and go for a power hitter that can't hit for any average. The team also weakens there defense. So essentially we go from the type of style that helped the club win 60 games this early in the season, back to the style that choked down the stretch the past couple years? Now I go a little over the top knocking Dunn cause I do realize he has a great eye, but he needs to hit .250-.260 and not in the .230 range which he was doing for most of the year. Right now he's just a better version of Konerko from the left side (I'll let people decide if thats good or bad). My trade dealt more with the long-term outlook for the Sox. Dunn could also play 1b next season if we got rid of PK. Don't get me wrong, I like Rowand. He's just not some great offensive weapon who we can place in the middle of the order, and be sure he'll hit 40 homers that season.
