  1. The question I have is why did Carlos Lee not steal 2nd base when PK was up? They weren't even holding him on. Who knows, Koskie's throw to 1b might have been off. Sox were lucky that PK didn't hit into a DP. Just not very smart bseball.
  2. Should Ozzie have ph for Valentin there w/Uribe? As much progress as Jose has made vs lhp, Uribe is still a better chance for a base hit. When down 4, we need runners. Oh well, at least LTP has given us a thrill.
  3. There you go Borchard. Time to be starting in RF on an everyday basis. BTW, no way he doesn't K 3 times vs Santana tomorrow.
  4. This game is illustrating one of the main weaknesses of the Sox...production from the catcher. Henry Blanco has killed us this game, and might have more RBI this game than the Sox have had from the position in the last 20 games.
  5. I have a feelign that Ozzie is bringing Cotts in to hit a batter. He would rather that Cotts get suspended than Politte. Hunter has always been a showboating f***er, and I hope he gets one in his ear.
  6. Not to sound too negative, but so far tonight, it has been a prime example of why the Twins are as good as they are with their inferior talent to the Sox, and the Sox don't live up to their talent level. Too many Sox players are swinging for the fences tonight. It doesn't look like Jose, Konerko, Lee, and Everett could hit the ball on the ground if they tried. Meanwhile, the Twins hitters were just serving Buehrle's pitches wherever they were pitched.
  7. Carl Everett was a good addition, but he isn't a superior offensive producer anymore. He's a solid player, but he's not going to make up for the difference of not having Maggs or Frank. Looking at the Sox lineup tonight, you have to wonder how this team can score as many runs as it does sometimes. Only Lee and Konerko are considered above average hitters, with Valentin and Everett being solid, yet streaky. I actually have faith that KW will find another hitter soon, hopefully someone who can play rf and make a difference.
  8. No need to have Buehrle throw over 115 pitches this game. We're going to need him healthy for rest of year.
  9. The simple problem is that the Sox are built to hit the 3 run homer, but they don't have the players to do it right now. The players that don't hit homers (Willie, Timo, catchers) are not good on base pct players. Losing Frank and Maggs really hurts this lineup, but lets hope we can continue to play good baseball. Tonight has not been a good start, but there's 2 more games to go after this.
  10. Yep, and they did it without their 2 best pitchers going. Today's game was the best chance for the Sox to win coming in, especially with Pudge and White out of the Tigers lineup. Lets just be happy we won yesterday, a game we probably shouldnt have won. It was very Twins-esque.
  11. The Sox rotation is average, but looked a lot better when the lineup had Maggs and Frank in it. However, without them playing, the rotation will have to be even stronger. Garcia has pitched very good so far, and Buehrle is a great player for the Sox. Garland is very erratic. Loaiza and SS are the ones that worry me every time out. They just seem too easy to hit right now.
  12. Yep, Bonderman out of the game hurt the Sox. They matched up better against him than Ledezma. Also, the big play of the game was the Konerko DP. There's such a big difference between facing Cliff, Marte, and Shingo than Cotts, Jackson, and Adkins. If it was 4-3 after 6, I bet Cliff would have come in.
  13. Good call Ozzie of resting the guys. Screw today, tomorrow is the biggest game of the season so far, IMO. With Santana going Tuesday, we have got to win with Buehrle against a struggling Radke.
  14. If Ozzie has thrown up the white flag for this game, then he needs to take Carlos out and put Borchard into the game. Carlos has almost inured his knee 2 times today, and he needs to be ready to go for the Twins.
  15. I know people disagree with this, but Uribe has got to be playing. His defense at 2b is superb, and he can drive in runs. Uribe carried this team for the first few months, and with Frank and Maggs out, we have to give him the chance to do the same for the last 2 months.
  16. Why can't Jackson pull a Pat Hentgen and just retire now? You can't have a reliever pitch that you can't rely on.
  17. Can we please release Mike Jackson!!!! Just a terrible pitcher.
  18. Wow, Cotts always seems to put the game out of reach when he comes in for situations like this. He really needs to go down to the minors in order to learn another pitch and get better command. Pitching once every 8 days will not help with that.
  19. Carlos should have kicked that ball. No way the Tigers werent turning 2 on that grounder. I was thinking that same thing in the 8th inning vs the Rangers last week. Oh well, it's an intriguing thought that is never seen.
  20. What I meant is that it's more important for Gload to get into scoring position in a tighter game.
  21. If the Sox were tied or down a run, then Gload should have been tagging. However, when down 3 runs, you can't afford to even risk an out like he did there.
  22. Yes, Burke is our best catching option at driving the ball into the outfield. His approach at the plate is very solid. Speaking of driving in runs, should Ozzie have had Uribe hit for Willie there? Even if they bring in a rhp, Uribe is better vs rhp than Wilie is vs lhp. Also, it would have got a rhp in the game for when Jose is up.
  23. Yes, it was a very good throw. It illustrates why you need a good throwing RF out there, and having Gload in RF allowed Higgy to get to 3rd in the last inning. Gload is valauble as a ph, but has a lot of holes as a starter. However, we have the Tigers right where we ant them.
  24. It's called The Curse of Ross Gload. Borchard really needs to be playing RF if he's on the roster.
  25. I wish that Bonderman would have stayed in for the simple reason that the Sox righty hitters are better against right handed pitching as opposed to the lefties vs lefty pitching. Konerko and Lee can hold their own vs rhp, but Jose and Harris struggle vs lhp.
