  1. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 07:56 PM) We've had bad stretches of a few games before and come out strong...the first time we left Oakland we came home and was spanked by the Tigers, El Duque won the next game and started an 8 game winning streak. I know, each time this season where I thought we were going to go on a poor run, they ended up having a great run in them. Just would have liked to have that momentum going into the ASB, especially with a very tough 4 game series at Cleveland coming up. f*** it though, lets just win this game.
  2. One of the best swings by Pods I've seen all year.
  3. My nightmare scenario for this wknd was way too close to happening. Anyone else feel like we're losing a lot of our momentum? Barring a comeback, we're going to get swept with our 3 best pitchers going this wknd at home. And please spare me the record reason for why we have momentum....I know exactly what our record is and place in the standings....which doesn't mean anything because there's still a ton of games left this year.
  4. Garcia's getting slapped around like a little b**** because he's afraid to throw his fastball. His changeup has been awful today.
  5. QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 07:50 PM) You watching the game...The Twins IF has been amazing so far!! No, just following it on the tracker. No surprise about their good defense....I can guarantee you that if they had someone like Ozuna who has embarrassed himself at a position, they wouldn't put them back out on the field at that position.
  6. Ozuna has been exposed. He's playing too often, and you can see him wearing down. If there's any chance Crede's back injury will linger into the 2nd half, we need to acquire a back-up 3b immediately.
  7. Uribe gets screwed on the 3-0 count, and then grounds out weakly. These A's pitchers have no problems holding the Sox scoreless after they score a run.
  8. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 07:41 PM) Do what you want fathom, I'm going to stay out of the game thread the rest of this game so you guys can b**** without anyone to stop you. For the record I bet Freddy will still throw a good game. Sorry we're not all thrilled with how this series is going/has gone. But I hope you're right about Garcia throwing a good game. So far, this has looked like the Garcia from early in the year where the other team just sat on his curveball, and let his fastball go.
  9. You can tell that DJ is pissed off about all the subs that have been in the lineup this series.
  10. I love to see teams that don't bunt when they get two guys on base, and no outs. Gives them the chance for a big inning.
  11. Rowand....now can I worry that Garcia has his head up his ass today?
  12. QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 07:36 PM) No matter where the ball is pitched, these guys hit everything!!! It's because when they get two strikes, they shorten up, and know how to foul off tough pitches. Garcia is s***ting the bed today....no shock against the A's.
  13. A's are sitting on Garcia's offspeed s***. Also, when will Hawk and DJ stop saying how great Cora is at third? He's been awful this season.
  14. The A's have scored every inning following a Sox run in this series. Lets make the 2nd inning the first they haven't.
  15. Wow, how do you not score on a blooper like that with 2 outs? A's have a great throwing outfield though.
  16. Haren is putting some pitches right there for the Sox hitters to hit.
  17. Dye should have been playing 1b today, and PK should be on the bench. PK looks like s***, and is killing us in the clean-up spot.
  18. PK's bat speed is non-existent right now.
  19. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 07:23 PM) What happened on the Kendall hit in the first inning, I did not see it? i notice Ozuna was not charged with an error. Chopper down the line that Ozuna backed up to get, and got his feet all tangled up. Ball got past him, and down the line for a double. At worst, he should have been able to hold Kendall to an infield single.
  20. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 07:23 PM) Tadahito just scalded that ball. Anyone else agree that he's our best hitter against real good pitching? Iguchi is weird like that. Against some tough pitchers, he looks great. Then, he looks awful against other top pitchers. It all matters what type of pitches that pitcher throws. A RHP with a good slider will eat Iguchi alive.
  21. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 07:19 PM) Fathom, how many times have you watched Freddy pitch this year??? He always has problems in the first inning, always. He usually gets out of it with 1 or 2 runs allowed then he becomes almost impossible to hit, hopefully it'll be the same today. Exactly, and Garcia has avoided giving up that one big hit early in the game which would have basically put the Sox in a huge hole. He's playing with fire starting the game without focus, and there's going to be some games where the Sox are down 4 or 5 after the first inning.
  22. Well, we avoided the potential big inning. I'm shocked that a former infielder like Ozzie hasn't realized yet how much Ozuna sucks at 3rd base.
  23. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 07:11 PM) Yeesh, he'll be fine. Putting your team in the position to get blown out in the first inning is not promising.
  24. Wake the f*** up Garcia. This was not the game to pitch like a pussy in the first inning.
