  1. For those that don't know, Benson is an asshole. During the cfb season, he said he'd rather win the Heisman than beat rival Oklahoma. He's a classless jackass.
  2. I really don't like how Benson tried to blame race for one of the reasons that he might have been slipping on some team's draftboards. He failed to mention that his stock started going down after he ran slow 40s. My belief is this, who would you rather have: - Thomas Jones at RB, with Muhammad and Mike Williams at WR or - Jones/Benson at RB, with Muhammad and B. Wade at WR The choice is obvious to me.
  3. Every single person is predicting Benson. That would be about 5 spots too high to take someone who got really beat up in college. Mike Williams is a difference maker, Benson is an average NFL running back if you ask me.
  4. Please just say no to Benson! Thomas Jones is a better player than guys like B. Wade or Gage. Mike Williams would have been the number 1 pick if he played last season.
  5. Haha, just as I was saying, Marte tries to throw a 3-2 slider to Sweeney.
  6. Nice to see Marte not overthrow there and walk the leadoff batter. In a 6 run lead with the wind blowing in as much as it is, all you have to do is throw it right down the plate. If they score 6 runs off of you in one inning under those conditions, you don't deserve to be in the majors.
  7. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 02:37 AM) Gooch flies out to Right..........8-2 Sox to the bottom of the 9th. How about we don't make this game interesting! My blood pressure can use a rest from one run games.
  8. Podsednik has had one of the best game I've ever seen by a leadoff hitter for the White Sox.
  9. Politte clearly has the best fastball on our team so far this season.
  10. BTW, great job by Garcia tonight. His fastball had better location on it, and he looked more confident on the mound.
  11. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 02:21 AM) Gload's value shoots through the roof if he can play a decent LF/RF. Anyways, about that Cubs game that Gload botched a couple of flyballs -- I think I might have been at that game, and the wind was a real son-uvva-b**** that day. So, if that's what we're basing our judgement on Ross play OF from -- then, I'd say we should give him a shot to redeem himself. If he f***s up tonight, then OK, there goes that experiment. I definitely agree with you. I'd rather have Gload in the outfield any time instead of Everett (who's also a risk to get injured in the outfield).
  12. Gload's coming in to bat for Dye. I guess this means Gload will have to battle the tough elements in RF for 2 innings.
  13. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 02:15 AM) Garcia's at 95 pitches. It's iffy whether or not he'll come out -- I assume he'll come out for the 8th, but I'd like to see Cotts get some work. No need to overwork Garcia tonight. Then again, I guess I won't mind if he send Garcia out to see a batter or two. Just, let's keep Freddy below 110 pitches tonight. I'd rather we let Marte pitch a full inning than Cotts. I still have nightmares of having a large lead heading into late innings at KC from last year's season opener.
  14. Will Pods try to steal again? It's a 6 run lead, but I don't think it would be that classless to try and steal a 4th base.
  15. QUOTE(TheBlackSox8 @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 02:02 AM) gotta love how the bottom of the lineup is producing....but you gotta hate the middle of the order is doing s***....i guess you'll have that though Exactly what I was talking about earlier in the game. No way you can change the lineup though right now.
  16. QUOTE(valponick @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 02:01 AM) We are up by so many runs I would have liked to see AJ try to make that, the ball might have been to home plate before he rounded third, Hawk was pulling for it too. A.J. is extremely slow, and what Hawk didn't say was that he waited for the ball to get through the outfield before he ran. He would have been out by 30 feet at home.
  17. Wow, A.J. absolutely crushed that ball. That was a very nice adjustment by Rowand at the plate, he actually kept his hands back for the curve.
  18. Garcia has been spotting his fastball very well on the outside corner. He's only thrown a few changeups, but he had the guys fooled when he did.
  19. Wow! Everett bailed out by a terrible throw by Berroa.
  20. Something I've noticed about Pods so far this year is that he definitely has cut down on his swing. Last year, he had a pretty significant uppercut. His homers were up, but his strikeouts increased a lot as well. I always thought that a main reason for this was that the Brewers philosophy was definitely to swing hard in case you hit it.
  21. Wow, great smallball there! Knock in Pods now.
