  1. Not getting any help at all from the umpires tonight. That was a very close call though. Cotts was slow getting over.
  2. Yuck, Cotts coming in and will face top of KC's order. He should not be coming in during a 1 run game. With 4 innings to go, why not go with Vizcaino, Marte, Hermanson, and Shingo? The chances that Cotts gets DeJesus out to leadoff the inning aren't very high.
  3. Is Gload going to find himself without a spot on the roster when Frank comes back? We need a backup 1b though, so I think he's going to stick. Honestly, it makes the most since to get rid of Timo when Frank comes back.
  4. Politte looks very strong so far this season. His fastball is crisper than it was last year, and his slider has been fooling hitters.
  5. Some of the ugliest swings I've ever seen from White Sox hitters in that last inning. I have serious concerns about Dye against rhp this season.
  6. Great to finally see a Sox middle infielder catch a throw in the dirt by A.J. Seems like Uribe and Iguchi had missed like 5 in a row in similar situations.
  7. My initial impression was that it might have been an achilles strain. I think he'll be ok though, as he seemed to be getting better quickly after it happened.
  8. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 12:20 AM) Too bad to be a YAC monster you have to catch the ball. Wait, does that mean those highlights were when they handed the ball off to him??? Stop crapping on the guy. He's making a transition(ala Boldin) and he'll be better than what we have at WR other than Mushin. Funny thing is that in the main highlight they show of Bradley, hey shows terrible hands by not cleanly catching an easy throw, and instead it bounced high into the air and he caught it on the run. If he did that in the NFL, it would be an interception for sure. I actually think Bradley can be used as a dangerous slot receiver, and be used on reverses, etc.
  9. I've noticed that Dye plays very deep in RF. He's going to have a very tough time throwing out any runners at home.
  10. Good pitch to Stairs there. Contreras should be out of the inning if not for this s***ty umpire. The 0-2 to DeJesus caught the entire plate.
  11. Contreras walked the 2nd hitter. Cotts is going to get a few innings tonight.
  12. f***ing Contreras. Leadoff homer by DeJesus. s***ty thing was he struck him out on the pitch before, but the umpire didn't call it.
  13. Our 3-4-5 picking up for where it left off yesterday. With Contreras going today, we're going to need more production from them.
  14. Ugh, Konerko is striking out way too often now. All you have to do is throw him a slider on the outside corner.
  15. I'm watching the game, but I'm not sure what Greinke did to get called for a balk?

Patterson's AB to end the game was as piss poor as any I've ever seen in that type of situation.
  17. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 06:03 PM) Chargers need Mike Williams every bit as much as we do. Tomlinson, Gates, and M. Williams is just ridiculous talent at the skill positions.
  18. QUOTE(shagar69 @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 05:56 PM) hopefully Clayton will be there in the 2nd round and we will take him. That would make the benson pick a lot more bearable Isn't Clayton projected to be a late first round pick?
  19. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 05:53 PM) I thought taking Benson over Williams was incredibly terrible!! You need more help at WR than RB IMO..... That's what I was saying earlier. Thomas Jones isn't great by any means, but he's not well below average at his position like B. Wade/Gage/Berrian are.
  20. Holy cow, what are the Vikings thinking? Takes a little bit of the sting off of the Bears not taking M. Williams now.
  21. My brother just told me that Benson got into some legal trouble also last season. The more I hear about him, added to what I saw on the field, really makes me dislike him.
  22. QUOTE(shagar69 @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 05:37 PM) this is gonna be perfect. Vikes are gonna get Williams and we're gonna have to watch him kick our asses for the next 10 years. thanks Angelo Williams was one of the best receivers I've ever seen in college football. He would hav easily been the first pick this season if he played last season. Thing that makes this worse is that it makes the Vikings trade of Moss a good trade now.
  23. Some more thoughts on it: - Benson fumbled 7 times last season, way too much for a good college back. - The difference between a top WR like Mike Williams and a 2nd round WR that the Bears might take like Reggie Brown or Mathis is a lot more significant than the difference between taking Benson in the first round and a RB like Morency or Fason in the 2nd round.
  24. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 05:23 PM) Benson is not an average NFL back... He was the most proven out of the three backs in college. And he's so much better than Thomas Jones... I respect your opinion, but Texas plays a total gimmick offense with Young in the shotgun nearly every play this season. Tell me one thing that Benson does that is better than the typical NFL running back? Personally, I thought Thomas Jones was pretty solid last season in a terrible offense in which teams knew that the passing game couldn't beat them.
  25. For those that don't know, Benson is an asshole. During the cfb season, he said he'd rather win the Heisman than beat rival Oklahoma. He's a classless jackass.
