Well, he should have had strike 3 but the ump blatantly blew the call.
Just listening on the radio with my satellite interrupted with the weather.

3-2 Minnesota Top 4th
I hate the Twins. Indians also are narrowing the gap with their great play of late. The AL Central is so underrated this season.

Do you think it's possible that Duque will be held out of his next start to give him more rest through the break?
Duque's not pitching before the ASB, I thought. McCarthy is going to face Oakland this weekend, I thought? Or will we skip him with the off-day we have on Thursday?

so did yankee fans when he came back from his injury and look what happened, he practically carried their staff
Big difference between pitching your home games at Yankee Stadium, or at the Cell when it's hot outside.
QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 02:00 AM)
Duque should be ready for his next turn so that's probably gonna happen anyway.
Which means it won't be long before a lot of people on here want to see McCarthy back up in the majors. I have my doubts about how sharp Duque will be for the rest of the season.
From what I've seen of McCarthy this year, his curveball doesn't seem like the type of pitch which will fool a lot of batters. Sure, it looks nice, but he doesn't seem to fool a lot of hitters with it.

Aarow needs to cut down his Ks...14 BBs and 60 Ks. That's too bad...
.669 OPS against rhp, and .887 OPS against lhp
Out of curiosity, why is Rowand batting 5th against RHP? I've been saying for a while that he needs to be lower in the order against RHP, and higher against LHP.
QUOTE(whitesoxjr27 @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 12:14 AM)
what is it with the indians? i dont follow them at all. is there bats just hot?
They're finally playing to their ability. That team has some great offensive potential, especially with Sizemore turning into a stud player.
I think it's safe to say that after reading up on a lot of this Schmidt news, there's nothing to these rumors. Far too often I've seen someone use a "board of directors" member as a source for a trade/FA rumor, only to see it end up being bogus.
If this trade involves Contreras and someone like Sweeney, and not BMac.....then I'm totally for it. I'd take my chances with Schmidt the rest of this year than I would with Contreras. I won't shed a tear if we trade Sweeney, as he's yet to show any power at all in the minors. It's much more important for our future that we keep McCarthy than it is Anderson or Sweeney. RF with power are a dime a dozen (J. Dye is a great example).
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 10:37 PM)
And the two games we lost were because of s*** pitching. It just proves that this team is built entirely on pitching. We don't pitch, we don't win.
True, but we're not giving our pitchers a lot of room for error. Not since the Cubs game last Friday did we give our pitcher any breathing room.
One thing that our big hitters (Thomas, PK) have to do better is make contact when there's a runner on 3rd, and less than 2 outs. We've been striking out way too much in those situations lately. Considering that our offense basically sucked on this road trip, 4-2 should be considered extremely lucky.
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 10:31 PM)
If the package includes two of those three I'm with you completely, no thanks.
I can't see the Giants trading him without getting 2 of the 3, if not 2 of those guys, and someone like Gio.
