  1. I'll say this: Can the Sox please score some more runs so it's not such a nail-biter tonight?
  2. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 12:29 AM) Frank doesn't want base hits. Frank wants home runs. Exactly, and I don't think that approach will work well with the rest of this team, especially the way that Ozzie thinks he should manage. Basically, I dont want Iguchi giving himself up in order to get Pods to 2nd base. Might as well save the out, and see if Iguchi can get on base also.
  3. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 12:29 AM) Sometimes it seems like Iguchi doesn't even know whetere Pods is going or not. And I think it hurts him sometimes. I think we either have to put on the hit-and-run for Pods and Iguchi, or just not have Iguchi swing if Pods is going. You're right though, he really does seem to have some issues with that situation.
  4. I said this last night, and I'll ask again: Are we better without Frank in the lineup? He can't be swinging out of his ass in situations where a simply single into the outfield scores a run. Especially with the way Everett is hitting now, I'm of the opinion that are best lineup has Everett at DH.
  5. What's the highest McCarthy has been on the radar gun tonight?
  6. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 12:10 AM) Something just clicked between Brandon and AJ right there and by that I mean AJ realized that Brandon has a changeup, he threw more that inning then all his other starts combined. I got a good feeling for the rest of this game with Brandon. I'm a firm believer that we're going to have to acquire a 5th starter before this season is over. However, if McCarthy is pitching at the MLB level, then of course I'm going to cheer him on. It's very obvious that location is the biggest issue which will dictate his success during a game.
  7. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 11:59 PM) Who has better stuff, seriously? If you say Diaz you are on drugs. McCarthy has a better curve, but Diaz had a better changeup. However, McCarthy is younger and has a lot more room to add physical strength. One thing that is very noticeable tonight is how skinny his lower body is.
  8. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 11:51 PM) Please don't compare Diaz to McCarthy. They're not even close, B-Mac just isn't ready yet. Says who? Weren't a lot of people saying that all Diaz needed was more seasoning last year?
  9. I don't know why KW continues to make the same mistake he did last year in regards to putting a pitcher on the mound, who if he has a good game, will give up about 5 runs. It really does seem that Felix Diaz is spanish for Brandon McCarthy.
  10. HOLY s***! I can breathe again! Good win Sox, and it's been fun tonight on here. Mercy, my heart is racing.
  11. That pitch has been a f***ing strike all night. Ozzie should have just got tossed. On a night where 6 of your hitters strikeout looking, that's just an awful non-call.
  12. When he gets 2 strikes, he needs to stick with the splitter. 88 mph fastball isn't going to fool anyone.
  13. Absolutely awful. Hermanson has nothing on his pitches, you could tell from the second pitch on. Why didn't he throw his splitter? Lord knows that's been his most effective pitch this season. BRUTAL
  14. What's the chances there's another thread saying we need a closer after this inning? I'm nervous.
  15. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 01:26 AM) Is anyone getting worried about our offense? Yes, I am. But right now, if 2 is all we're going to score, we have to keep the Tigers to 1 run to win. Since you play to win the game, it's now up to our bullpen to get 3 outs and win this game. I firmly believe this is a very big game, due in fact to McCarthy pitching tomorrow and the Twins having such an easy week of games.
  16. Incredible job by Politte tonight against 4 very good hitters.
  17. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 01:19 AM) Watch out for Rondell here. He has some massive power. Yep, and always gets crucial hits against us.
  18. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 01:18 AM) Stewart with a 2 RBI double. 5-3 Twins. Predictable. Yeah, there was no reason for us to get our hopes up when KC tied the game. Not a chance in the world that KC can win a battle of the bullpens against the Twins.
  19. I'm anticipating a manifesto by southsideirish tonight about how Walker must be fired because all this team does is pull the baseball.
  20. Thomas actually put a good swing on that 2-2 pitch, but he's looked lost the entire night at the plate.
  21. Wow, Ozzie's pulling Buehrle after a 1-1 count on Inge. Not too often you see a manager leave a pitcher in for his pickoff move. Pretty smart idea, if you ask me.
  22. If the first base ump called him safe there, I was going to turn this game off.
  23. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 12:56 AM) IMO time to make this a 3 inning game with Cotts, Politte, Hermanson. Buehrle gave us 6, lets get the win for him. I agree with you, but you know Ozzie will keep Buehrle in. Doesn't Buehrle have like a 7 inning streak for games pitched? Or is it 6 innings? Anyways, that was one of our worst efforts in an inning this season.
