  1. Pitch around the 8 hitter here to face the pitcher?
  2. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 02:27 AM) If it is just barely out of his range he usually gets it via a slide or dive. I woudnt consider that a lazy fly ball either it wasent a liner, but it wasent a can of corn either. Well, first of all, he's not caught everything that he should have this year. Far too many miscues for Dye in the outfield this season. And just as I type this, another blooper drops in front of Dye. He's been nothing but a disappointment in the outfield this year, no other way to say it.
  3. Well, looks like we let this pitcher find his groove now. 6 easy, easy outs for him after the first two batters. Seems like a common theme with our offense too often this year.
  4. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 02:21 AM) He still gets the balls in his range no matter what! What are you trying to say?
  5. Buehrle needs to be careful with Nevin tonight, especially with Klesko on deck. Nevin is very good against lefties, while Klesko struggles against lefties.
  6. Jermaine Dye has absolutely no range in RF. I'm getting sick of seeing every lazy fly ball hit down the line dropping against the Sox this year.
  7. Stauffer didn't have much on the mound. No excuse for the Sox to not be able to get at least 4 runs against him tonight.
  8. QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 01:30 AM) I think Timo's lost a little on his blowjob. he hasnt been on in a while. Don't worry, as soon as Dye takes an 0 for, Timo will be in the lineup. I'm about ready to predict Timo will play 1b tomorrow.
  9. Take a guy like Klesko last night, who has all 11 of his homers against rhp this season. I would much rather have Cotts face Klesko than Politte.
  10. The Red Sox are setting a record for long fly outs in this game. They've hit the ball to the fence about four times this game without it leaving the Urinal.
  11. I disagree. As Cotts continues to improve with his command, he'll get tougher on lefties. Not only that, but just as there are pitchers who do better against lefty or right hitters, there are hitters who hit better vs rhp or lhp. There are a lot of lefties that struggle mightily against lefty pitching (even Jim Parque could have success on some lefties).
  12. QUOTE(ReinsdorfSucks @ Jun 11, 2005 -> 04:03 AM) OMG. without the gift run we don't f***ing score Well, thankfully we got the gift run. I really hope Ozzie doesn't stick with Cotts too long here if he doesn't have it.
  13. Rowand and Iguchi decided to take the hanging strikes, and swing and the offspeed stuff in the dirt.
  14. Seanez making us look like we've never seen an offspeed pitch.
  15. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 11, 2005 -> 03:58 AM) Wow did Pods just swing and miss at the same pitch 3 times? Yep, the Seanez change-up. Looking at his K rate this year, I take it a lot of people have done that. That was vintage Pods from last year though.
  16. Whew, that was too close for my blood pressure. Get him over Pods!
  17. Pods just needs to make contact here. He's overswinging.
  18. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Jun 11, 2005 -> 03:55 AM) lol I love it when Timo makes us look stupid. But normally that doesn't happen. Agreed. I have no dignity anyways, so I'm not too proud to congratulate him, even though I dislike him.
  19. Timo! Very well done, and nice to finally see the hit-and-run. We need to get at least one run in this situation.
  20. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 11, 2005 -> 03:53 AM) Cotts doesn't have the best splits against lefties this season, just throwing that out there FWIW. But I'm very confident he'll get the job done still. But you know Ozzie and his love for L/L match-ups, etc.
  21. Ozzie's affection for Timo is simply mind-boggling. He better get the bunt down.
  22. We're going to see Cotts in the 8th. Padres have a ton of lefties at the top of their order. I have no problem with Cotts being put in, but Ozzie needs to be proactive, rather than reactive if Cotts looks anything less than sharp.
  23. Great catch by Rowand there....but for the love of god Ozzie, if your pitcher gives up liner after liner, take his ass out! Was it not obvious to Ozzie that Garland had nothing that inning? Thankfully we still have the lead.
  24. QUOTE(robin_ventura_eternal @ Jun 10, 2005 -> 07:58 PM) you cant hate loaiza that much though. he gave the sox a cy young calibur year and once he left, he was never that good. he sucked for the yanks, pitches for the nationals right now, hes doing so-so if memory serves me correctly. No way would I say Loaiza is hated. Not only did he give us an amazing season which we could have never expected, we also got Contreras out of the deal.
