  1. There are now four parts to the movie, with three different songs. The first part is all 2005 highlights, each one comes out of like a video wall/globe. Very cool. I first saw it during the crosstown series. The second part is the "old first" highlight reel. Theres some cool slow music while the Diamond Vision shows all of the old players from the very beginning of the club through Frank Thomas. The third part is the "pirate" reeel with all of the hard slides and roofshots. The fourth part is Thunderstruck. I have no idea where the first part is from. The second part sound slike a summer blockbuster movie that I cannot remember. The third part is "SKull and Crossbones" from Pirates of the Caribbean. Like Ive said before, I love this stuff. I miss the Hawks too.
  2. I would absolutely love the song to the first part, email it to me: zerohoursox@yahoo.com the song from the second part is "skull and crossbones" from pirates of teh caribbean. the "theme" is in the movie often, but that variation is the one they use.
  3. Cooper should fine anyone who pitches to Lee. It just makes no sense to pitch to him considering the scrubs lined up behind him.
  4. I will go without "the Derek Lowe face" thank you very much. Schmidt is an idea, i think hes making 8-9 this year and next.
  5. hindsight is 20/20. remember JR does not give big contracts to pitchers. i dont entirely disagree with that theory. SP is still way overpriced to RP, i think we can get another bullpen arm for good value. How soon we forget that Duke 5th and BMac 6th is the best 5/6 weve had in a long long time and better than some 3/4s of the past.
  6. I actually hope the cubs position themselves to be more of a buyer this month just to get us out of his sight.
  7. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 01:46 PM) I just read the article. I love how he tries to vindicate himself of lying last week by saying "I wont lie to you guys about the cubs and sox, im here to tell you guys the truth". (not verbatim) What a moron, seriously. I wonder if he even buys the crap that he is writing. You can tell he scans messageboards for ideas and stories. if that were true he would have written about Chavez and Eddie.
  8. shea hillenbrand? Have we gotten to the point where were considered cheap because we dont overspend on a player that provides limited improvement on a 3B that plays above average defense? The offense hasnt put up the runs, but damn, 42-21? If you want to talk numbers: Pitching: top 3 ERA, WHIP, BAA. Top 10 K/BB Defense: 2nd best defensive efficiency in MLB And that offense? 7th in HR, 12th in R, RBI. The OBP/OPS needs work. Welcome back #35. This is just another case of manufacturing demand so when the team stands pat, or fills a more pressing BP need, they will appear to be "not trying" or "on the cheap." to prove a point, you have to be high if you think Preston Wilson is a solution for Corey Patterson.
  9. Its been a great business model with building a quality bullpen since middle relievers and "non-closers" have been so underpriced the last few years. The Twins and Angels are prime examples along with the Padres. Relative to what many average SPs are getting, look at Milton, Benson, and Wright's contracts, you could build yourself a very strong bullpen for the same amount of money. I think Viz gets fixed before Shingo because Shingo might need to learn, or is learning, a whole new pitch to keep ahead of everyones video tapes.
  10. Ill agree with showcasing. But other than Kearns to Atlanta, I havent seen any kind of indication that any of those guys are going anywhere.
  11. I would agree with mackowiak, but is huff going to cost anything less than Bmac? If Bmac is the price, I would rather just try to get chavez.
  12. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 02:18 PM) no, its MVP baseball. of course we can get willy mo pena, why would the reds want to keep him? if they like him so much, why does he keep splitting time? recent injury aside, why is he the 4th and sometimes 5th OF?
  13. But Jeff Brantley just said Timo should be playing everyday! we cant trade him!
  14. whats the over/under on posts before that all caps phrase pops up? 10.5? i think when nuke wakes up is weighing on the line.
  15. i think im being more realistic than trading for chavez eddie or randa. i mean seriously, randa? you have to be kidding me. anyone got a realistic move then?
  16. inexpensive doesnt mean on the cheap, i just dont think it would break the bank. the CIN guys are on the list out of circumstance. of course they are good, why would you trade for bad players? Pena, for no good reason, is the odd man out in the OF between Griffey, Dunn, Kearns, Freel, and that stud OF prospect i forget. Freel is in the same situation with Randa/Aurillia/and Encarnacion. If youre CIN you want to trade from your surplus and try to get some young arms because getting rid of those big contracts is going to be tough. Wheeler's a journeyman, but hes having a good year. Id rent him for a B prospect. I still highly doubt that keeping Sisco is the top of KC's to do list. Duch is a player you should want and could get.
  17. Just shooting from the hip here. Need: Better spare part than Timo. Better bat than Crede another solid BP arm (left or right) Possible inexpensive/viable solutions: Ryan Freel, 2b/3b/ss/OF CIN. Wily Mo Pena, OF CIN Andy Sisco, RP KC Dan Wheeler, RP HOU Justin Duchscherer, RP OAK I think anyone of these guys could be had for good value, pena in he right deal. CIN has 4 OFs, fast approaching 5, that cant play every day. I would much rather pay for Freel than Randa for a number of reasons, age and value being the two biggest. Sisco is great, but I dont think KC's top priority is their bullpen. HOU and OAK are sellers, and again, should be worrying about other things than specialist RPs. Not as sexy as these Chavez/Eddie/Randa type business, but I think they would be far better value plays both now and the next few years.
  18. you go out there and you find that !@$#-ing dog!
  19. Its a long season, this is why you need spare parts. Get well soon, Gooch.
  20. and a little family guy. "So they ever show the Count do anyone in? "Youre asking if Sesame Street has ever shown the Count killing someone, and then drinking their blood for sustenance?" "yeah." "No, theyve never done that."
  21. More baserunners is going to mean more runs, its only a matter of time before some of those liners start falling. uh oh. anybody else put the ketchup in the fry cup and enjoy with hands plus fork?
  22. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 31, 2005 -> 01:41 PM) August is our make and break for 2005. If we can survive that, print the playoff tickets. Isnt august 8th the bud billiken day parade too?
  23. Calm Down.... YOU START GETTING EXCITED MOTHER!@$!ER!
  24. Lasorda said its 54-54-54 Hawk is just trying to keep everyone sane....by repeating himself....over and over....
