  1. A large chunk of tickets are usually walkups, and that is almost based solely on the weather. If it looks like the game could be called, theres no reason to head out.
  2. I will stand by Back to the minors and also contend that it is greater, yes, greater than Major league two. thats just my opinion is all. give Major League Three another shot.
  3. :banghead I cant believe this is still going on. Can we hit record for playback when vinnie finally cools down?
  4. Well if were going PG-13, then why not "If you want blood, you got it!" correction to the list: I believe Mariano Rivera comes into Danzig's "Mother" (source: SPorts Guy Bill Simmons)
  5. Yes, but the opening of Thunderstruck is superior with Dirty Deeds coming in second. Only one ballplayer can have hell's bells.
  6. To us, we go every chance we can get, the whole non-baseball fringe stuff is just window dressing. I understand. I obsess over stats and fundamentals, and watching good baseball. I keep score alot too. Im not going to get into a whole philospohical debate because I accept that no amount of AC/DC can change the outcome of the game. However, USCF is a modern park, it would be a shame to ignore all of the Jumbotron/sound system fun you can have. I think the new intros are going to rock a filled up Cell tonight. Rival in town, jsut my opinion. Well all be loving it, if we care to, once the games start to mean even more. Again, I think its slick.
  7. Put me in the disagreement column as well. While all that matters is the W, the intros are the best since the Hawks...and they made the Hawks look good.
  8. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 12:36 AM) Check Harris's pitches per ab, hes pretty high for the White Sox. Also 19 sb for a rookie is not that bad, he did lead the White Sox. SB Up until a few games ago, I never thought of Harris as a situation hitter, thats all I was trying to say. Ill happily concede to your stats on the patience. I dont want him to suck. He is getting it done now that hes not the annointed 2B. I just think that the best he can ever be is a guy who does the little things, every team needs those players. This year he is showing promise in that capcity more than in the past.
  9. QUOTE(peanut33tillman @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 12:31 AM) i do like freel kids a good athlete but arent the reds still high on the kid despite the DUI charges?? Hes currently fighting new hometown favorite Joe Randa for PT at third (and Cincy "uberprospect" Encarnacion in the long term) and the ghost of Brandon Larson. In the middle infield, the Reds are pretty happy with D'Angelo and Aurilla. That infield, while not stacked, makes Freel the odd man out in Cincy.
  10. Willie never struck me as a patient slap hitter. Just a hacker with no power at times. He, I want him to be great, but I never saw much plate dicipline out of him, no true understanding of the situation. Until this year so far. Hes be getting it done, just like ozuna and perez to form a nice "utility platoon" good teams need guys like that and this one needs willie.
  11. Not necessarily off topic becaue it was brought up but...our 3b "situation" Im going to say it again. Ryan Freel. The guys a scrapper and definitely stuck on Cincy's bench. Im a little less high on him now with that DUI business, but you have to admit that he would be a nice fit statistically.
  12. Playing hard is key. I think he can be a real good roleplayer for the team if hes allowed to stay sharp. He can play OF/2b/ss/3b too. Just getting the job done when needed.
  13. Good to see the sox come back. as for yahoo. i prefer mlb gameday, slicker, faster.
  14. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Apr 12, 2005 -> 07:17 PM) Cliff or Jackson weren't here when Manuel was here. They both came last year and Manuel's last year was 2003. rats, i could have sworn mike jackson was here for 2 years. oh well ..... Marte or....? Tim Fortugno?
  15. like Manuel had a choice... Hmm....Marte, Cliff or Mike Jackson?
  16. Hell, I go to Wrigley cause theres baseball. Besides, its fun to root for 19 teams a year.
  17. I always liked printing of tickets and not worrying about the box office. Theres a parking lot at Wabash and Monroe near the Shubert Theatre, the red line is literally across the street at State. I dont know how much it is on weekends, its still the theatre district. Most of State St. is heavy weekend type stuff, so I dont know if the lots wil be much cheaper. You have to take the $4 round trip/person the red line will add. If you do park at the Cell, I suggest avoiding lot B.
  18. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 12, 2005 -> 01:33 PM) Any idea what the Sox record vs the ALC is during the same time span? Sox vs ALC 2001: 42-34 2002: 40-36 2003: 42-34 2004: 40-36 total 164-140 22.5 behind twins.
  19. His main flaw yesterday was he wasnt fooling anyone away, nobody chased his stuff, AND he was missing the outside corner. A little more aggression would probably shore up his appearances nicely. He wouldnt be getting behind as often and would keep guys on their heels.
  20. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 04:31 PM) That only works for people who actually go to bed around that time... Yeah, but the morning after rule sounds lame.
  21. Here's a suggestion everyone. Let the losses sting, but only until midnight. Savor the wins, but only until midnight. Get better today. Win the next game. Im all for healthy discussion, but there has to be some reasonable boundary.
  22. And that's a whitesox winner! Hell yes, Duke. Perfect outing had by all. pen reserved.
  23. THATs the pitch im talking about. Its sick, it looks like its going to end up in the LH batters box, then cuts back. He didnt get it yesterday. When he does...oof.
  24. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Apr 8, 2005 -> 03:12 PM) Bring Back Koch...Stop Billy Time :puke
  25. Well, the man is like 125 years old. Back when he was a Senator, he was once depicted in a political cartoon giving woodrow wilson the what for.
