  1. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 7, 2013 -> 09:10 PM) Have you seen this Bulls team sans Rose and without Deng tonight? Rose going down killed their spirit. They aren't the Toon Squad. They're 2-5 without Rose so far. That's bad, but there's still 5 teams worse than that rate. That includes blowing three close games against bad teams too. Those 7 games also come without Butler, who isn't a world beater but makes them better. They're REALLY going to have to blow it up/have injury issues to win less than 30, which is what it'd take to get into prime lottery position.
  2. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 7, 2013 -> 08:57 PM) Trade Deng for Waiters and a 1st if you can. I can't see how the Bulls would get out of the Top 5 picks. Have you looked at the East recently? Waiters jacking 3's like crazy might actually help the Bulls win. He'd lose them a bunch of games doing silly stuff, but would also probably win them like 10 when he gets hot. Plus Butler will be back at some point. There's 5 teams on pace for less than 25 wins right now, and it'll get worse when guys come up with mysterious season ending injuries in March.
  3. Victor is definitely a 2. His handles need a lot of work. He would work well as a secondary handler though. The Magic would be really fun if they get Exum, Smart or Harrison if he gets his s*** together. Same with Philly if Noel is healthy and they hit their two picks (NO isn't making the playoffs in the west with Davis missing another month).
  4. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 6, 2013 -> 08:54 PM) And conversely, when did Arron Afflalo turn into a healthy Wade or 2010 Brandon Roy? His numbers are sick. That one is pretty easy: he's shooting 46% from the arc so far instead of the 30% he did last year. There's not a ton of difference in his numbers other than that. Kyrie is a lot more mystifying. He put up a bagel for christ's sake!
  5. When did Kyrie Irving turn into a no-talent chucker? I knew he was getting a bit overrated, but s***. He's killing my fantasy team (I know, no one cares).
  6. QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 5, 2013 -> 08:49 PM) Nets 1st round picks 2014 None 2015 Hawks (option to swap) 2016 Celtics (unprotected) 2017 Celtics (Option to Swap) 2018 Celtics (Unprotected) Yeah, both the Johnson and the Pierce/Garnett trades will be epic fails at this rate. Atlanta must be loving this since they can swap picks this year.
  7. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Dec 5, 2013 -> 12:04 PM) Standard or PPR? I'd say go Floyd for sure. Toss up between White and Edelman. PPR would probably lean Edelman a bit. The question is how much do you believe that White is back. I'd go Rice over Miller if you had to pick a RB to use in flex. But I'd probably play your other Edelman/White option over Rice anyway. I know Minnesota sucks, but personally, I can't play Rice with confidence. He had one good game against the Bears, outside that has done basically nothing all year. Plus, then you don't have to kick yourself when one of White/Edelman goes off, because you played them both. Standard league. I don't really trust White or Rice, which is what is killing me. If Rice falls into the end zone, I'm pretty much set, but as you said, he's been SOOOOO bad.
  8. I need some advice with my myriad of mediocre options to fill out my lineup. I'm starting Antonio Brown, Eddie Lacy and Ben Tate. I need to pick 2 WR and a flex from the following... WR Michael Floyd vs ARI Anquan Boldin vs SEA Julian Edelman vs CLE Roddy White vs GB Dwayne Bowe vs WAS RB Ray Rice vs MIN Lamar Miller vs PIT Boldin is out unless I see a compelling reason to play him. I REALLY don't want to play either RB, but I see Ray Rice's name and still want to put him in. I'm leaning Floyd and White I think, but nothing is really set in stone.
  9. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 5, 2013 -> 10:52 AM) I don't know, this team looks cooked with the d inexplicably bad. The last two losses make me think they actually do suck. Scoring 93 against Cleveland should be more than enough, and without Davis their frontcourt should destroy the Pelicans. If that keeps up, tanking could be viable, especially if they trade Deng.
  10. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 5, 2013 -> 12:25 AM) Noah > Aldridge /bulls fans last summer Not what was said at all. The point was Rose/Snell/Deng/Boozer or Taj/Aldridge is arguably worse than the Blazers were last year with no additional cap space to add to it.
  11. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 08:43 PM) An Illini fan calling a bowl game a joke? That's like a Northwestern basketball fan calling the NIT a joke. But I guess that goes back to my expectations being more realistic than everyone else. The NIT IS a joke.
  12. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 06:05 PM) I love NBADraft's player comparisons for this draft, after they lowered expectations after DeShawn Stevenson = Jordan... 1. Wiggins = Pippen 2. Parker = Carmelo 3. Exum = Penny 4. Embiid = Olajuwon/Bynum 5. Randle = Larry Johnson/Mashburn 6. Smart = Harden Comparing the 4th pick in the draft to one of the greatest centers of all time is lowering expectations?
  13. Okay, maybe the Bulls do suck. Some of them might literally die after this game too.
  14. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 1, 2013 -> 08:13 AM) They've been playing without their best player, too. Big Al makes somewhat of a difference. Meh. Jefferson is a better fantasy player than real-life player. He'll help their offense a bit but is a bad defender. They also have no shooting to take advantage of him drawing a crowd. They are still starting MKG, Gerald Henderson and Josh McRoberts after all.
  15. Charlotte is going to come down. They've had one of the easiest schedules in the league so far and they're still getting outscored by almost 3 points a night. That roster is horrible. It's a toss-up if they're better off getting it now or later though. Charlotte could have as many as 3 picks this year (theirs, Portland's if it's outside the top-12 and Detroit's if it's outside the top-8). That could be bad news for the Bulls once the 2016 draft rolls around. However, if they get unlucky and/or whiff with these picks, it could still be a good one. As for the Bulls, they've had two horrible results since the injury. I'm still assuming they're better than the rest of this crap until they're several games under in another month or so.
  16. Andrew Bynum comes back from the dead to burn the Bulls. Blew a lot of layup attempts to tie it.
  17. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 30, 2013 -> 04:08 PM) This is random as all hell. But is this the worst single-season roster in nba history? http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/VAN/1996.html I know this was their first year of existence. But jesus f***ing christ of almighty praise be to allah and the prophets and angels. My eyes are bleeding. How did they win 15 games? That team looks incredibly awful on paper, but they actually finished 18th of 29 teams defensively. Charlotte from 2 years ago was dead last in both offense and defensive efficiency. That's impressive.
  18. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 29, 2013 -> 11:06 PM) I know people didn't like Carmody but the Princeton offense was so perfect for northwestern. Just need to get abetter recruiting staff and lower your admission standards a tad. I never had a major problem with Carmody the coach. The recruiting was terrible though, they went through most of his tenure without having 5 legit Big Ten players on the same roster. Some blame him for that more than the lack of facilities/history (I personally went about 25/75). They also had terrible injury luck when they actually did have the talent. The keep getting slightly more talented and this next class seems like the best one NU has had. They're still winning like 3 Big Ten games though, especially if they have injury issues (Crawford is already hurt).
  19. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 28, 2013 -> 01:05 PM) Yeah, Wiggins has the monster athleticism. Randle is just a huge, athletic inside monster. Exum (from what little I've seen) just sees the game incredibly smoothly and has the athleticism and shooting to compliment it. Parker still has great athleticism, but he also seems to have a chip on his shoulder and massive amount of skill for someone so young, making me think he'll never be content to rely on his athleticism and existing skill. Basically, you can't go wrong with any of the four and I think Jabari is most attainable. That's like saying that Megan Fox is the most attainable of her, Gisele Bundchen, Kate Upton and Katy Perry. You're still not getting any of them.
  20. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 28, 2013 -> 09:52 AM) Where are you playing Nikola at? What about Booz or Taj for the rest of the year? Mirotic comes of the bench. We have no idea how good he is anyways. Or you could play Monroe at C if someone blows you away for Noah. Taj would obviously get dumped somewhere in this scenario. While he's still here, the Bulls would finally have 4 real bigs so the starters don't have to play 40. Boozer plays out the string off the bench and then gets amnesty'd. Do we really care about his minutes at this point?
  21. Since the Bulls played Detroit last night, I had a thought: are they dumb enough to give us Monroe for Deng? My initial reaction is f*** no, but it does make some sense. Their frontcourt doesn't work on either end of the floor. Smith at SF is brutal. They're not moving him or Drummond, and Monroe might be gone since he's talking about a max deal. Deng would be a huge upgrade at SF and let them play Smith inside where he belongs. I'm sure we'd all much rather pay Monroe 15 mil a year than 12 or so for Deng. Plus it would give them the flexibility to dump Taj I still don't know if it could happen because of the talent gap, but it makes too much sense. I'd even throw in a protected first I think.
  22. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 27, 2013 -> 08:40 PM) lmao@the bobcats backcourt. Walker/Henderson went 6/32. This is just terrible. This conference cannot be this bad. Please get better fast! If anything, it'll probably get worse as guys get "hurt" come March.
  23. QUOTE (scs787 @ Nov 27, 2013 -> 05:50 PM) Is it the luxury tax that they have to be under after the deal for it to work? If so something like Waiters and Zeller would work. Trade rules for teams over the cap The cliffnotes version is that the Cavs would have to send back at least $9 million in salary. Waiters makes a little under $4 million.
  24. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 27, 2013 -> 04:08 PM) Apparently the Cavs are begging the Bulls to take Dion Waiters for Luol Deng. This according to Chris Broussard. Ugh. HATE Waiters. That's admittedly the kind of deal they should look for, but Waiters does so many dumb things and doesn't really do anything well. Plus he already looks like a pain in the ass. Think the Cavs are happy they took him over Drummond, Lillard and Barnes?
  25. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 27, 2013 -> 07:49 AM) I'd very much consider trading Noah for an expiring contract and a first rounder at this point. Maybe it'd take 2 first rounders but that's a move they should absolutely consider. With his health history, age, and contract, he only makes sense to the Bulls if they're looking at a loaded team next year, which right now no longer looks to be the case. But...you put him on a team that needs defense and rebounding and that's a major upgrade. I don't consider it unless I get a lottery pick. He's a solid big on a reasonable contract. Those are hard to find.
