  1. Can anyone actually log into GTAV online?
  2. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 29, 2013 -> 03:19 PM) I would love to see the Cats win, but their performance so far this year has me worried. Fitz will have them ready to play though. I can live with the first two games, their inability to crush two bad teams the last two weeks hasn't made me feel good. They were ultra-conservative with the play-calling and Mark was out, but you'd still think they'd score more running the ball. I want to break something every time they run an option play with Simien and Trumpy (for those that don't follow NU, Simien is basically a non-runner and Trumpy is slow as well). I'm hoping that Mark will be back and give their running game enough punch to open up some passes. I don't think they can score enough to scare OSU throwing 20 passes and giving Trumpy a bunch of carries (I'm just assuming the Buckeyes will score at least 30).
  3. Ravens "running game" killed me today. How do they only run the ball 7 times with such a favorable matchup?
  4. I'm still fairly early in the game (just did ), but I like it a lot more than IV. I thought they took things way too seriously with that one and the characters were mostly forgettable (and the ones that weren't were because I found them annoying as hell). I've already done a bunch of crazy s*** and I find the characters far more interesting. I also LOVE that they finally added in-mission checkpoints. I almost broke my controller at the end of IV because I had to repeat the last mission from the very beginning like 20 times because I kept missing the jump in the middle. No more!
  5. By the way, early line is OSU -4. I'd be shocked if that's not at least 6 1/2 later in the week.
  6. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 28, 2013 -> 11:08 PM) One would think that College Gameday will be in Evanston next weekend. We're going to have to get there insanely early to get our usual spots because of that. Might have to "tailgate" for 6 hours before the lots even open (they only open 4 hours before game time).
  7. This rotoworld report for Jacoby Jones is hilarious on so many levels... Jacoby Jones suffers head injury in altercation with a stripper.
  8. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 21, 2013 -> 08:46 PM) Michigan OLine is brutal. Wouldn't matter. Don't know why they abandon run game. Our OLine blows but let's do a QB sneak a minute into the half. Brilliant. NW and OSU will blow this team out. The Cats haven't exactly lit the world on fire the last couple weeks either. They were out-gained by an FCS school this week and only won by 14 even with two pick-6's. The offense has been faily blah, hopefully they open things up a bit and get Mark back soon. I guess we'll really see what kind of team they have in two weeks when OSU comes to Evanston.
  9. I've only played a few missions so far, but I like that there is actual shooting really early in the game. In GTAIV it felt like an enternity until Niko actually got a gun and started taking people out.
  10. So of course my other RB on my team with Lamar Miller (okay today) and David Wilson (looks like a dumpster fire, though he did just have one of the more impressive 2-yard runs I've ever seen) was Ray Rice. I handcuffed Pierce, but I'm not sure that's going to save me.
  11. Second week in a row I was ready to put a hit on RGIII only to be fairly happy with his performance after the game. He's becoming the king of garbage fantasy points.
  12. QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 15, 2013 -> 11:39 AM) Yeah I thinks that's right. I can't decide between decker or mike Wallace. I feel like Wallace will be targeted more after b****ing, same for decker. I hate decisions like that. I'd rather play Decker in a vacuum, but Denver has SOOOO many more options.
  13. I've changed my lineup like 4 times this morning, can't decide what to do. I have to bench one of these 3... Cecil Shorts Anquan Boldin Rashard Mendenhall I generally lean towards the RB in the flex spot, but he's clearly the least talented player. Boldin was a monster last week but has to deal with Richard Sherman covering him today. Cecil Shorts, he sucked last week and plays for the Jaguars, but he's been a lot better with Henne. Thoughts? Right now I'm sitting Mendenhall.
  14. QUOTE (TRU @ Sep 15, 2013 -> 08:26 AM) I heard some rumors that they arent announcing GTA for the next gen consoles because it could hurt sales with people not buying it now and just waiting two months. I really hope it comes over to next gen because I really want to play it. I'm sure it'll make it over eventually, I'd guess more like 6 months though (based on absolutely no facts).
  15. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 13, 2013 -> 10:05 PM) When LeBron James is the prize, you damn right you give up that player. Beasley, at that time, had no place with Miami once they got James. Put them over the top? They're already on top. I changed the wording, I was posting it quickly. And once again, they picked Mike Miller over him, not Lebron James. Miller made 100k more that year than Beasley did. If he was such a "solid if not spectacular" player, they could have and would have kept him.
  16. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 13, 2013 -> 09:51 PM) lmao. oh please. they gave him up so they would have more financial wiggle to get resign Wade and get LeBron and Bosh. It had nothing to do with talent. gmab. Go back to telling me how Jimmy Butler is going to take the Bulls to the next level. Yeah, because teams give up #2 picks after 2 years for cap-clearing purposes all the time. He would have made $4.9 mil that year. They signed Mike Miller for $5 mil. They picked Mike Miller instead of him. Clearly a ringing endorsement. The last part is really funny to me given that you're talking about a guy that might be Miami's 9th man making them unstoppable. Butler will at least start.
  17. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 13, 2013 -> 09:36 PM) Oh, and now he's playing with LeBron and an elite offensive coach with zero pressure to live up to his draft status. He was playing with prime-Wade and Spoelstra the first time the Heat gave up on him. And he was the #2 scoring option so he had the freedom to do what he wanted instead trying to carve out a role with three stars and several key veterans that were already a part of a championship team. He's clearly shown that he's willing to do what it takes to play smart, winning basketball throughout his career (I hope that doesn't need the green).
  18. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 13, 2013 -> 09:13 PM) Maybe 10 years ago when Battier, Allen and Lewis were younger. Any of those guys are better options open behind the arc than Beasley taking his patented two dribble pull-up jumper with a hand in his face. The guy averages 14.1 PPG in his career on 12.7 shots. That's horrid. Oh, and that's the "strength" of his game.
  19. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 13, 2013 -> 08:56 PM) The Heat have a 20 something year old double digit scorer off the bench? Did I miss something? Beasley's scoring could come in really handy for the auto 15-20 games Wade misses. A lot of guys can score 10 points when their coaches let them take 10 shots. Spoelstra is a competent coach, so it's not likely that Beasley will play long enough to do that. If he does because of a blow to the head or copious ammounts of alcohol, we can all thank the lord that he's shooting the ball instead of Miami's numerous superior options.
  20. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Sep 13, 2013 -> 10:43 AM) I am willing to say most everyone here would be delighted if we picked up Beasley. To beat on the point over and over again, our FO is uncreative and lacks the balls to take any risk. If we go out and sign any of these reclamation projects like Oden and Beasley, there's a chance they can provide value for way more than they cost under the right coaching. At worst, you are paying these guys minimum deals. Oh, and if Beasley gets to play with Lebron, Wade, and Bosh, it's not a stretch to think that he can at least shoot 45% and average 18 pts / 40 minutes f*** no, I wouldn't go anywhere near Beasley. They have several better options and so do the Heat. If he's scoring anywhere close to double digits, they're taking shots from better players.
  21. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 12, 2013 -> 11:26 PM) I disagree completely. I will not deny that he's been horses*** the last two years. His first three years were solid, if not spectacular. 6'10 with the ability to shoot it and put the ball on the floor is nothing to scoff at. And the dude is 24. On the right team (he's on the right team) with the right coaching (spoelstra is a top 5 coach in the game) there's more than enough talent/skill for him to succeed - if , of course, he's got his dome straight. Spectacular? Seriously? There's a reason 3 teams dumped him for basically nothing.
  22. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 12, 2013 -> 04:03 PM) Which is all they would need. They don't need him to live up to his draft status. Just to be a complimentary piece. And apparently it was Beasley who went to the Heat and said he had no problem with a non-guaranteed deal. So he wants to be there. It's one thing to f*** up with the Suns. You ain't comin' to South Beach and f***in' s*** up. First screw up, he's gone and he knows it. I really think you're missing a big part of the point with Beasley. It's not just that he's a lazy screw-up, there are significant issues with his game that prevent him from being good. It's even worse if he's a "complementary piece" because he doesn't offer anything that your typical quality role player brings to the table. He's an atrocious defender, not a high-energy guy that will get you loose balls, a below average floor spacer (typically a passable percentage, low attempts from outside), he forces tough shots, basically never passes, is a middling rebounder and he has a pretty high turnover rate (the raw numbers don't look bad, but consider how little distributing and dribbling he does). Really his only useful skill is volume scoring, something the Heat don't remotely need. I'd honestly be shocked if he plays a bigger role than Rashard Lewis or James Jones did the last few years (two guys that played very few meaningful minutes). At least Oden fills a need if by some miracle he's healthy.
  23. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 11, 2013 -> 09:09 PM) And those are the scenarios all non-heat fans better pray for. If the opposite happens - #3peat I'm sure non-Heat fans are far more concerned about Lebron than a guy that hasn't played in 3 years and a guy that was cut by THE SUNS.
  24. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Sep 11, 2013 -> 01:30 PM) He just knows Daniel Thomas sucks, and Miller shows flashes. He could be a bust, but as we're talking about, one week. He's like a poor man's Wilson at this point. Try owning Miller AND Wilson. Where's the "blow your brains out" smiley when you need it?
  25. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 11, 2013 -> 04:52 PM) lol. What a f***in' joke. The Heat get another potential high-impact, virtually no-risk guy for free. They've got three max guys and they're now the deepest team in the league. The odds of Oden's knees staying intact and Beasley putting down the bong long enough to make any kind of impact are extremely slim. Hell, Miami's opponents might be better off if Beasley DOES play major minutes, that guy is terrible.
