  1. Heh, he pitched out of nothing, Hawk. They ran themselves out of that inning.
  2. That was awesome. Betancourt's a f***ing moron.
  3. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 08:41 PM) Andruw is not a good LF. Surprises me. And if he's not playing defense he's giving us nothing.
  4. Why do our rundowns always suck? That was horrible.
  5. Go figure, we're actually missing JUAN PIERRE's defense in LF because ANDRUW JONES isn't getting to balls he should.
  6. Watching Juan Pierre hit in a White Sox uniform has been just as painful as I imagined it being.
  7. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 08:23 PM) Well I care because it cost us a goddamned run. The ump needs to call the game correctly, regardless of whether we agree with the strategy or not. It wasn't a blatantly blown call. These things do happen, I'd prefer if we didn't afford the umpire the opportunity to blow such calls. For the record: I've b****ed in the past when he was safe in that exact same situation, there just isn't a lot to be gained but there is a lot to be lost.
  8. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 08:20 PM) Well, when the opposition's broadcasters think he was safe, and Alex thinks he was safe, and the angle showed the throw dying and his foot getting in, I'll believe he was safe. The angle from behind the base showed the glove not actually touching him till his foot was down. I really don't care.
  9. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 08:18 PM) Rios never argues when is caught stealking, he did this time. FWIW. Another friend of mine watching the game on extra innings says he was safe. I honestly don't care. It was close enough that the call could have gone either way, I saw it as safe on my 50 inch Samsung broadcasting the game in HD but really means nothing in the end. There's seriously no reason to be running in that situation, I said the exact same thing in the exact same situation during the Cubs series, it's silly. Especially with Rios who puts himself at a disadvantage as a base stealer.
  10. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 08:16 PM) When is the avatar of TCQ and the red heart going to be re-introduced into Sox Talk Fathom? Or was it Kalapse that had this as the avatar?? I had it and I have no idea if I even still have that graphic.
  11. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 08:15 PM) I'm telling you, he was safe. Maybe the KC broadcast had a better angle. Secondly, Rios just goes when he wants. That is not a sign. They showed a perfect angle, he was beat. I'd be the first to get upset if he was safe but he wasn't. I hate Ozzie's super aggressive philosophy, Rios never steals this much but Ozzie emphasizes it. Before the season he actually went to Rios an told him to go nuts on the basepaths and it's costing us runs.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 08:13 PM) Was it you that said Rios is bad at sliding into 2nd? Yes. He slides feet first and with his body VERY high every time. There's no room for adjustment with a foot first slide, if the throw beats you you're out. When you come in tall like that you're just making it easier for the fielder to get the glove on you when there's a high throw. There's just so much more to be gained by going head first, you're low and have more maneuverability.
  13. Because when we have big time power hitters coming up, dudes who hit lots and lots of HR we should be stealing bases with no outs. That just costs you runs in the long run. f***ing stupid.
  14. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 08:11 PM) He beat that throw though. He was tagged out before he got to the bag mostly due ot his s***ty slide. CARLOS!!
  15. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 08:10 PM) That was a s***ty call. Looked pretty out on the replay.
  16. f***ING HELL! Zero out, Konerko up. Don't f***ing run him. This team is WAAAAY too aggressive on the basepaths. They keep running him in this situation and it's pissing me off.
  17. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 08:07 PM) I do not like the cameras in Target Field. I hate that straight ahead view from CF. It takes me out of the game (the normal view used at the Cell is much more intimate) and it's impossible to read the catcher's signs. One of the best things about watching a game on tv is that you know what pitch is coming before it's thrown.
  18. This commercial is just f***ing stupid. Most people seem to think it's funny but there's really no thought put into it, it's a cheap, unfunny gag.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 07:59 PM) For me, when Buehrle is struggling, you don't think he's ever going to get another hitter out. With Floyd or Peavy, you feel like all it's going to take is a good offspeed pitch to get out of it. Then it's the lack of strikeouts and pure stuff. Because I definitely feel the exact same way.
  20. Why are Buehrle's rough outings more annoying that others? Is it the high number of hits he allows? The fact that it looks like he's just tossing the ball up there? Hard to say.
  21. That's really a play that needs to be made.
