  1. QUOTE (BFirebird @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 11:32 PM) Nope was watching MLB Tonight..they just switched to it now. Was it a butcher job? Get to listen to Vin Scully too...very nice. Matt Kemp is just a complete and utter mess right now.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 11:30 PM) Considering Putz's K/BB ratio, any chance Ozzie makes him the closer and moves Jenks lower than Linebrink in the bullpen? And I really hope someone just saw Brandon Wood's error to start the 9th. Well, you'd hope he would. Putz is definitely the better choice for the closing role seeing as how he actually has a plus pitch. Bobby's curve is not what it used to be but Putz can still make the best of hitters look silly with the splitty. We could definitely use a long man though and Bobby was a starter when we acquired him, definitely worth a shot.
  3. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 11:31 PM) Great great victory. Even you Jenks haters are getting what you wish from Bobby, who apparently can pitch well even without the support of Soxtalk. He's blowing people away. My god, even the most proud of you ... give him his f***ing props. Kalapse gave him his props. The rest of you are insane (just kidding, don't ban me). It's funny because I've "given him his props" like 20 times in the month of June you just choose not to acknowledge it.
  4. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 11:30 PM) Yeah that 1 pitch in his last save would have been much better if it were an 8 pitch K That's what I'm saying! Glad you agree and I'm not the only one worrying about this.
  5. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 11:25 PM) Yeah, but the 05 and the first 0.62% of the 2006 team did it, so suck on that one Mr. Stats! Pfft, if you're going to cheat and include the 2006 team then you might as well just point to the games between June 15th and June 24th, 2006 when they won 9 straight against predominantly NL opponents.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 11:27 PM) Kalapse, I'm concerned about Jenks giving up the leadoff single in the 9th. Melky was all over that first pitch. That's not going to get it done vs AL teams. No K's over his last 3 outings. Concerning to say the very least. If he doesn't pick up his strikeout totals he's gonna start to get shelled.
  7. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 11:26 PM) He goes a bit too far call him an all-star, but I see no point in hating him and calling him a worthless fat f*** like 99% of this place does, very classy That's just unfair.
  8. QUOTE (aprec32 @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 11:20 PM) 8 One more and this team will do something that even the '05 club couldn't do.
  9. QUOTE (BFirebird @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 11:21 PM) Where did you get that info Kal? Awesome stuff. http://brooksbaseball.net/pfxVB/zoneTrack.php
  10. Outstanding victory. Bobby is kicking some serious ass right now. The bullpen was f***ing nails.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 11:02 PM) Please, please score more runs so Jenks won't blow this game!! Or maybe he will blow it then I can rip the living s*** out of him!
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 10:56 PM) And it's the softest sub mendoza batting average imaginable 7th lowest ISO in the game at 0.053, I'd say that qualifies as "soft"
  13. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 10:55 PM) Gordon back below .200 and hovering around a 520 OPS, which might be the lowest of all qualified MLB hitters. They have to pull the plug on him for now and see what a new environment in AAA can do for him. He's been the lowest for a while now. He's one of only 4 players in baseball with a sub .600 OPS this season. Others being: Pedro Feliz, Jose Lopez and Juan Pierre.
  14. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 10:46 PM) Had Hudson really not given up more than 3 ER all year? Yes, this is the first.
  15. Oh my is he hitting the ball hard. Still needs to keep this up for 2 or so more weeks to convince me he's back.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 10:39 PM) What were their feuds about? Arthur Rhodes used to wear giant diamond earrings on the mound. On a particularly sunny day in Seattle the light was reflecting off them and distracting Omar at the plate so he asked that they be removed. Needless to say Arthur was none too pleased with this request. The benches ended up clearing. Rhodes was a ejected and called Omar a midget after the game.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 10:36 PM) JOSE MESA Baseball needs another great feud like that one. I imagine Arthur Rhodes isn't a big fan either.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 10:32 PM) Who goes in for the 7th? I'd put in Thornton and hope he can perform well for 5 hitters. Probably Putz but really anyone but Santos right now, don't like him pitching with a 1 run lead against a very potent lineup the way he's going right now.
  19. Have I mentioned how much I love Omar Vizquel and just how happy I am that he's succeeding?
  20. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 10:27 PM) What is the braves bullpen like One of the best in the game.
