  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 09:30 PM) Sadly, I think giving up that hit to Hamilton helps Williams's numbers. You really gotta ask yourself why the f*** we're still carrying the worst reliever in baseball on June 1st. I don't give a s*** if there isn't another lefty to replace him with, bring up a fresh right handed arm and pray that he doesn't put up a WHIP around 3.000.
  2. f***ing hell, Kotsay. 4 for 28 with RISP. The hot streak is almost definitely over.
  3. Battling isn't enough, Mark. You need to finish long ABs with f***ing hits.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 09:23 PM) Wow, that 2-1 was wheelhouse for Kotsay He doesn't look hitterish at all. Just going by the way he's looked at the plate over the last few games the hot streak appears to be over.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 09:21 PM) Wouldn't it be more like 20 mil we'd save if we trade him in the next month? A little more than that.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 09:18 PM) Yikes! That K rate is way low it seems 5.1 for his career, 3.5 so far this year and 3.3 in his final 13 starts last season.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 09:06 PM) Face it, he's been pretty awful ever since his perfect game. Since the perfect game: 24 GS 5-12 4.81 ERA 1.45 WHIP 3.45 K/9 2.17 BB/9 1.59 K/BB
  8. At least Gordon's hitting; this game isn't a total waste.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 08:57 PM) Was that Konerko covering 2nd? WTF Beckham? Why Beckham would be running towards first is beyond me.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 08:52 PM) It's unreal, isn't it? He must have thought the Rangers had Matt Stairs on the bench or something. He has to afford Buehrle -- his veteran workhorse) -- the opportunity to work out of the jam AND GET THE WIN! Always worried about getting the vet starter the f***ing win.
  11. 24th time in his career that Buehrle has allowed 11+ hits, he only came away with the win in 2 of those outings . . . and it doesn't like he'll be getting one here either. 12th time he's allowed 12+ hits.
  12. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 08:45 PM) Jones must be in the doghouse. He's not hurt, is he? He's hitting .167/.271/.300/.571 over his last 16 games, has been pretty banged up of late and Mark Kotsay was probably our second best hitter in the month of May.
  13. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 08:45 PM) How come yu guys dont like the chatroom. s***, those soft singles can doom us. I'm on my phone, can't load it.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 08:41 PM) Kotsay now 1 for his last 15 And 4 for 27 with RISP
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 08:38 PM) I don't think it's been that bad this year. Usain Bolt wouldn't have scored on that play. Gentry also has an absolute canon out there.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 08:18 PM) Yes, I went back on his yahoo game log and looked at the play-by-play. It was like watching a horror movie having to go review some of those games. Ok, it looks like you were right on because I got the same looking at BR, 3-16 (3-17 after today).
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 08:08 PM) Initial analysis has Pierre at 3-16 bunting this season. Initial analysis?
  18. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 07:57 PM) I was actually calling for the bunt there. 2B and 1B were playing back, he puts it down and gets a run in and advances the runner. Obviously he needed to get it down though. If only he were any good at bunting, that's probably be the weakest aspect of his game since putting on a White Sox uniform. Going by his career average pace he should have about 6 bunt hits right now but he only has 3 and at least twice as many failed attempts.
  19. QUOTE (joejoedairy @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 07:48 PM) everytime carlos hits a homer to right center i get excited that hes gonna start a trend. thus far that hasnt been the case. let this be the time it actually happens Last time he hit one oppo: April 28th off Rich Harden. Hey, the last time he homered twice in 3 games was last September/October when he hit 4 bombs in 6 games and finished the year with a .292/.346/.875/1.221 line over his final 26 PA. Good omen?
  20. There is absolutely no heat surrounding Joe Crede right now, he's seemingly dropped off the face of the baseball world, it's been about 9 months since he underwent the 2nd back surgery of his career and his name hasn't come up in a single blog post or column in months and even then it was just speculation. It would make perfect sense if he were just back home in Missouri playing with his kids and enjoying the use of his back, living off the $17M+ he made over the course of his career but even if he's 100% done you'd think a reporter would give him a call and make it official. This is not an endorsement of any sort, just curiosity. Like Fathom said: he's obviously not an option for us regardless of his status.
  21. Jenks says he's available to pitch tonight, should be interesting.
