QUOTE (T R U @ May 16, 2010 -> 10:20 PM) Ok so now I went back and tried to redo it and now all of the sudden I am getting it on Tuesday and it was $65.. This is confusing as hell, I hope I did it right.. Did you sign up for the free trial of Amazon Prime? If so it should be $59.99 and arrive Tuesday. On the invoice it sent to your email what raised the price to $65? Shipping should be free and there's no tax (assuming Texas is the same as Illinois).

Sign up for a free trial of Amazon Prime (just remember to cancel it before it runs out), it comes with free release date delivery. It'll show up at your doorstep Tuesday afternoon. It makes sense for me personally because I'm an Amazon prime member which means free 2 day delivery on all purchases and free release date delivery on games.

Amazon. I tend to buy a good amount of s*** off that site so a $20 gift card is pretty valuable to me. Don't really care about the in game stuff. With the gift card I could turn around and pick up 3D Dot Game Heroes for $15 or Arkham Asylum for $20, sounds like a good deal to me.

White Sox vs Royals 5-15-10 @ 6:10 pm

QUOTE (Capn12 @ May 15, 2010 -> 03:42 PM) If one of our biggest concerns, is driving in runs from the leadoff spot, we have FAR bigger issues. I don't care if Pierre drives in 10 runs all year, as long as he is hitting and getting on base. Let those whose job it is to drive runs in, do their job. Juan Pierre has the second most ABs with RISP on the club, it's pretty ridiculous to be ok with him not driving any of those runs in just because he happens to hit atop the lineup. As a high average hitter he needs to be picking up hits in those situations same as anyone else in the lineup, it's simply unacceptable that he's 4 for 29 in RBI opportunities, that's WAY too many wasted opportunities. Given that he gets the most PA on the team he's going to get plenty of late inning RBI opportunities and he doesn't deserve a free pass in those situations just because he's a punch and judy hitter or a "table setter". -
QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 15, 2010 -> 12:16 AM) He is pretty good and gets no love. Will probably always be underrated by most people except die hard fans and Pirate fans. It's not like he's been tearing apart the league for 3 years with no recognition or anything. He was great in half a season last year at age 28 on an awful team and coming into yesterday's game his OPS for the season was at .750 with 1 HR in his previous 131 PA. He hasn't done nearly enough to earn an outpouring of affection.

QUOTE (The Critic @ May 15, 2010 -> 09:01 AM) I've always said that Pat Hughes deserves twice of whatever they're paying him to carry that numbskull. Santo is only worth listening to when the Cubs lose an important game. Plus, he's a real asshole, so I never want them to win while he's around. It's a damn shame that he has to work with that clown because Pat Hughes is really a hell of an announcer. Unfortunately having to work along side a man with the mind of a 10 year old drags him down a bit.

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 14, 2010 -> 04:14 PM) Omar sucks big time, but why weren't you prepared for this mentally since it was mentioned in the offseason? I assume CQ and Jones are hurting? Knowing that it's coming doesn't make it any less egregious. -

QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 14, 2010 -> 04:11 PM) Decisions like these are why Ozzie keeps hearing those fire rumors, constantly defending himself. I don't even think Dusty Baker or Ned Yost are this stupid. Here's a list of mangers that weren't stupid enough to DH Omar Vizquel because they actually know where his value lies: Ron Washington Eric Wedge Charlie Manuel Joel Skinner Mike Hargrove Lou Piniella Bill Plummer Jim Lefebvre -

Mark Buehrle is 4 for 40 w/ 1 XBH (HR) in his career as a hitter. Omar Vizquel is 4 for 36 w/ 1 XBH (2B) this season. -

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 14, 2010 -> 04:03 PM) So you want Nix to DH over Omar? Fine. The lineup still sucks. Magical Mark Teahen in theory should plaster the ball tonight off Meche, ditto AJP. And Paulie should loft a few of his meatballs out of the park. And Becks and Alexei should rock. How do you not get this? If Ozzie wants to put Omar in the lineup, that's fine but he needs TO BE IN THE FIELD as that's the only thing he does well. He could get away with DH'ing any of Teahen, Ramirez or Beckham today and plugging in Omar at any of those positions and it'd perfectly acceptable, not optimal but next to no one would be livid. Starting an ALL glove NO hit infielder at the DH slot is a joke. Think about this: Omar Vizquel has NEVER before DH'd, largely because none of his previous managers were daffy enough to slot him there. -

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 14, 2010 -> 03:58 PM) So basically you all are mad at one slot in the lineup. Nix for Omar? What lineup do you magically want with our personnel that will be any better? If Omar is going to be in the lineup then he needs to play the field, the only value he offers to a team is with the glove. There's no excuse for using one of the absolute worst offensive players in the big leagues over the past 3+ years as your DH even for one game. Especially when you have a bad defender at 3B just screaming for DH duties on a day when 2 of your regular designated hitters are on the bench. -

QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 14, 2010 -> 03:18 PM) Wow.. the first time that has happened this season, and that is one time too many. Ozzie is an idiot. Jesus, he couldn't just put Teahen, or Alexei at DH and have Vizquel's defense out there? My god. He really should get ripped to shreds by everyone, including the media, on that move. It's f***ing embarrassing. This will be the first time in his career that Omar Vizquel will be in the lineup as a DH, the very first time. There's a reason for this. The guy was brought in for his glove and only his glove, doesn't do you a whole hell of a lot of good from the bench in the bottom half of every inning. Omar's hit .239/.298/.303/.601 over his last 1100 PA, there are only 7 players in the game with 30+ PA and a lower wOBA this season, 1 just got released and another is currently in the minors and yet this guy is DH'ing for us and we hope to win ballgames. I'd love to say this wasn't a forgone conclusion but Ozzie did bring it up during the spring, loves to put together ridiculous lineups and recently praised Omar for his play on the field. It's just sad. There's really no defense for this, I'm trying to think of one but coming up empty. -
3D Dot Game Heroes is getting some glowing reviews, very good to see.

Apparently Tom Paciorek will be doing color along side Ed Farmer for the KC series filling in for DJ. So you'll have Hawk and the Big Hurt on TV with Farmio and Wimpy on the radio. What a bizarre weekend of White Sox broadcasts.

QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ May 12, 2010 -> 04:50 PM) Bet he's pissed about turning down a guaranteed 30 million. They should lock Beckhams ass up right now to a 7 year deal Assuming he was offered the same deal as Gavin Floyd -- as was reported -- he would have received about half that amount in guaranteed money. Gavin's only guaranteed $15.5M.

Alex Rios is hitting .330 with a .966 OPS. He's a joy to watch.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 11, 2010 -> 03:38 PM) I for one am glad Gordon is moving down (interesting it is at the 7th spot). I personally would have put Alexei 2nd (well... Rios was my first choice, but he is raking at the 5th spot so I understand it) only because he was actually pretty successful there last season, and this will perhaps give him more plate discipline (see more pitches) since he has all of a sudden swinging at everything like he used to his rookie year. Beckham's hitting 8th.
