The LEGEND of Luis Robert ESPN feature article

The story of Luis Robert. FB% - second lowest in baseball SL% - second highest in baseball z-swing% (Inside the Zone Swing Percentage) - highest in baseball SwStr% (Swinging Strike Percentage) - highest in baseball swing% - 2nd highest in baseball contact% - 3rd lowest in baseball exit velocity - 84th percentile hard hit% - 81st percentile barrel% - 80th percentile Nothing too surprising, basically, he's seeing mostly sliders out of the zone, swinging at most everything and whiffing at an extremely high rate but when he does make contact he's barrelling the ball and hitting it extremely hard somewhere. This was the scouting report on him coming into the season and it's playing out exactly. -
Risky behavior on the part of players is in no way a prerequisite for outbreaks, they can simply go about their business boarding flights and staying in packed hotels and contract the virus. I somehow doubt these positive tests we're seeing are all related to players clubbing in their down time.
-
So 2 positives on the Cardinals and they're still planning on playing tomorrow with a DH Sunday
-
Not sure why Jesse Rogers of all people keeps getting this info.
-
1) it was a joke 2) 20% of the league will not play tonight due to positive Covid tests.
-
At least they're seemingly taking less chances after positive tests after the failure to cancel the Marlins game last Sunday. The new doubleheader rules will be big, we're going to see a shit load of them if the season does play out.

This, IMO, is a good start https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/luis-robert-673357?stats=statcast-r-hitting-mlb

Madrigal is still in Schaumburg because the season will be cancelled or paused soon and this way the Sox can hold him out for the first month of 2021 and get another year of control!
-
Fucking Eno Serris retweeted it, deleting
-
He's in Schaumburg and Getz said today that he's "close" whatever the fuck that means. So we may not see him in the KC series.

Not a great sign for MadBum

Another Marlins player tested positive bringing the total to 16 players and 2 coaches.

Ricky sucks and his lineups are infuriating but Ozzie hit DeWayne Wise leadoff so fuck him too.

Unfortunately, we could not have seen this coming.

ALL IS WELL

So it was effectively left up to Rojas whether or not the Marlins would play on Sunday and he tests positive 2 days later. Real bang up job, everyone.
-
Even if you relocate the games who the hell wants to play a Marlin's team that's seeing multiple new positives every day? How could any opponent feel safe playing a team with an active outbreak? It's not just the players, the entire Marlins traveling party is a problem.
-
I imagine they'll come to some compromise that gets the game played and doesn't look like Manfred caved. The Marlins could be playing road games for a bit, though Passen also noted; why would DC want the infected Marlins party in their city? Why would any city for that matter?

Funny enough I think the Rays are the biggest offenders on homerun celebrations, they've hit a bunch of them against the Braves tonight and there's been plenty of grab-ass and jumping into each other.
-
Watching games tonight doesn't look like anything's changed from a social distancing/contact perspective, still not utilizing the canopies that are up in the stands of every ballpark and plenty of contact on homerun celebrations. I noticed the Astros and Mets with contactless celebrations, otherwise it's the usual.
