QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Sep 3, 2017 -> 02:56 PM) Can you retell me the stories since you heard them so many times? If not maybe you just weren't open to those stories in the first place. Probably because they weren't particularly interesting in the first place.

The White Sox Hot Prospects Report, 8/29

QUOTE (ptatc @ Aug 30, 2017 -> 01:59 PM) How the heck do you get an OBP lower than the batting average in Silverio's case? The definition is: The full formula is OBP = (Hits + Walks + Hit by Pitch) / (At Bats + Walks + Hit by Pitch + Sacrifice Flies) So the only way seems to be no walks with a bunch of sac flies. Or am I missing something? No walks but a SF over his last 13 games will do it. -
Uh, there's a game going on: Twinkies @ Sox 8/23

I only kind of watched these days, wooed when he rounded second, yelped when the ball got away, that was great. -
Forgot he was even on the team, rather than Brantly this is probably your Sept 3rd catcher.

Reynaldo getting the call and the ball on Friday

Jose Abreu is pretty damn awesome. Him as the DH on the next contending team just makes way too much sense, it's impossible not to respect him. -
FYI, the Sox are good now.

Kanny was down 4 runs in the bottom of the 1st before Micker walked to the plate, the game is now tied. He's hitting cleanup with Call, Rutherford and Burger ahead of him.

f***ing sheets of rain coming down in Algonquin, instant flooding. I just hope no one gets hurt on that s*** field tonight.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 9, 2017 -> 01:20 PM) My point is he's young enough that he just, uh, might improve? We're assuming TA might improve. My point is anybody who can hit 30 home runs in his first season and is still young(ish) has a chance. And I'd currently rather support that guy than dream about prospects. His defense I realize is regarded as s***, but I don't think he's been embarrassingly bad yet at 3B. Correct me if I'm wrong. Nobody's been able to explain to me why his performance hasn't dictated any excitement at all. He's a bum and that's that. I guess 26 is considered too old to get anybody excited nowadays. That's the bottom line. Answer this though: Why is it that Davidson's advanced stats have doomed him to being a boring non prospect when he showed promise in terms of hitting mammoth home runs (actually winning one game with a single up the middle)? At what point do you guys decide the advanced stats cannot be improved upon and a guy has no chance of improving? Is it simply his age? 26 is blah now. The cliche says he's too old to build a solid career. I don't know why you keep referencing "advanced stats", all of his stats are bad, even the very basic ones with the exception of homeruns, it's literally the only thing he does well and there are 37 players in Major League Baseball with as many HR's as him and 56 with at least 20 and 55 players with at least 300 PA's and a SLG% greater than or equal to Davidson's.

The worst of all this was Delmonico hitting a HR at Fenway and having nowhere to go for reaction. Was awful.

QUOTE (maxjusttyped @ Jul 21, 2017 -> 08:39 PM) Video of Eloy fouling a ball off his foot. https://twitter.com/SSS_joshnelson/status/888551871362859009 Eloy taking that Dye comp to the extreme.

QUOTE (StrykerSox @ Jul 21, 2017 -> 10:30 AM) Thanks for saying this. I am with you. Know what Delmon Young's bWAR was in a season where he had 46 doubles and 112 RBIs? 1.9. Sub level, by their own explanation. Yeah, sure, call up that interesting 25 year old from AAA and he should manage this! Easy peasy! What a load of s***. Agreed, defense and baserunning should not be factored in when quantifying a player's overall worth. The fact that Delmon Young was a horrific defender should not play a factor. You're also looking at a couple counting stats (one of which does not and should not play a factor) when the guy had 613 PA that year.

QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 08:58 PM) I was looking up Jeff Liefers stats the other day to compare to Davidson. Dude had a GREAT year in 2002 I think. 2002 was sad, 2001 though, is a very good comp to Davidson. Nice pull. -

QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 07:52 PM) Keep KW away from all these prospects so we don't trade for like Miguel Cabrera or something Oh, I know but you specifically said "OF's" so I had to give you s***.
