  1. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 9, 2014 -> 02:48 PM) Post more because I miss you. Anything for you.
  2. Do you have the expectation that he will dominate every start? Does he tend to? Can he still shut teams down when he's not on? Does he compare favorably to the top pitchers in the game? Is he a no-brainer to pitch game 1 of a playoff series? Does he consistently take the ball? Is he regularly going deep into games? If you answer yes to all these questions then you have an ace on your hands. The only question with Sale is his durability and I'm not ready to knock him for that yet.
  3. If there were like 30 aces in baseball wouldn't that kinda, like, defeat the purpose of the term?
  4. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 07:03 PM) It's quite surreal that that is actually something that has happened. Well put
  5. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 06:59 PM) Wait, did we know that Lance Broadway is now an actor on Broadway and was in Olympus Has Fallen? His glamour shots are amazing.
  6. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 06:57 PM) Was Kolek to Marlins rumored much? Yeah, died down the past few weeks but the Marlins love prep heat.
  7. I'm super uncomfortable with the board being so over the moon goofy over a Sox draft pick, very unsettling. Somebody freak out and call for KW's head for old time's sake!
  8. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 06:39 PM) I still can't believe we were able to draft him. It's still sinking in, just best case scenario. This is going to be an incredibly interesting draft to revisit in 5 years.
  9. Heh, Hayden Simpson, god that was a fun pick at the time. Dude is like 5'6".
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 06:32 PM) This is one of those moves that even if Rodon is a complete bust, no one should complain about the Sox drafting him. It's 100% the right move. Absolutely, they took the BPA, I will never criticize this pick.
  11. Where does Rodon fall on BA's top 100 list next year? Gray was #12, Appel was #39 and Stewart #52 this year.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 06:24 PM) Well, last year was a success THIS is why we rooted against the team down the stretch, to just have a shot at this type of talent. Amazing.
  13. What a f***ing turn of events, this was unimaginable this time last year.
  14. Oh god. Please Rick, don't serve it on a platter to Theo.
  15. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ May 31, 2014 -> 12:33 AM) There was a "This Week In Baseball" about Pedro Martinez years ago. He had the biggest fingers I've ever seen. He could bend every finger back to his wrist. He was a freak. He was the best pitcher I've ever seen. He put up ungodly numbers, right through the apex of the so called "steroid era." He was tiny. Yeah, I second this. The greatest I've ever seen, the best of his generation (sans Maddux) and an all time great. Just the thought of Pedro gets me all swole in the penis area. That dude who made the steroid freaks look pathetic, that 5'10" b**** on his 3rd team with that rising fastball, disappearing change and swagger for days, as if Brian Jordan's stance wasn't f***ing stupid enough, he amplified it with his ridiculousness. The nastiest mother f***er to ever stand 10 inches above the ground. Buhner and Junior just look stupid when faced with true perfection.
  16. Average AL leadoff man: .264/.329/.388/.717 2014 Adam Eaton: .267/.329/.342/.672
  17. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 22, 2014 -> 09:18 PM) I was listening in the car. Apparently Stony did a massive jinx? Not a thing.
  18. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 5, 2014 -> 04:01 PM) Yes it is.. The corrections roster should be up tomorrow hopefully. I think they made a few mistakes like Danish, Anderson, Johnson, Rondon not being in the roster. It was a mistake and I think it will be corrected with the update Full on boner mode.
  19. QUOTE (bmags @ May 5, 2014 -> 07:04 PM) ugh, I knew this was going to happen. Nobody is going to talk me down from the ledge on this. We are going to keep getting "good reports" but a delayed time table and then suddenly we'll see "Sale out for season, getting surgery" This doesn't feel too far off.
  20. Are the OS rosters ready?
  21. Kinda sad but I'm already thinking about the fact that he can opt for arbitration when eligible, that will put a damper on the $11M AAV that every baseball reporter in America is throwing around right now. He'll make $10M in his 3rd year, given that he's guaranteed only $10.5M in his 4th, he's a lock to opt out and go for a big pay day in arbitration if he's anywhere near as badass of a hitter as we believe.
