QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 17, 2013 -> 12:27 AM) Te'o dad said she came to Hawaii. Te'o himself said that they met at a USC game. I understand that however the dad's information is likely second hand from the son who's embarrassed over the nature of his relationship with this "girl" he's infatuated with but of course that theory is full of holes. Then there's this goddamn tweet: https://twitter.com/MMasifilo/status/291735118819766272 My brain is clearly overloaded from like 8 hours of ingesting this s***, I'm no longer capable of connecting dots, it doesn't help that we're seemingly thrown another twist every 15 f***ing minutes. -

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 17, 2013 -> 12:04 AM) Read the Twitter you posted. He clarifies a lot of it. It goes back to what we already knew from Deadspin. It's all but certain at this point that Ronaiah Tuiasosopo was Lennay, confirming Deadspin's report. The crazy thing is the sheer number of people who seemed to know Ronaiah's game. Tomorrow's revelation will be Ronaiah's motivation and how many people he's duped with his alter-ego Lennay. Reagan Mauia's comments are what's confounding me the most right now. Then I go back and read the last 1/3 of Deadspin's article and I once again have no idea what to believe. The "close" relationship between Manti and Ronaiah trips me up and even as I'm beginning to believe that Manti is just unfathomably naive the incredible length of Manti and Lennay's relationship keeps me from believing that. -

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 16, 2013 -> 11:56 PM) The more s*** I read the more I get confused. I do know that he lied out his ass though at points. We just don't know what he lied about. It's just way too much, reading through Twitter timelines it seems every Samoan in southern California is in on the joke. -

QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 16, 2013 -> 10:56 PM) Reagan Mauia, an Arizona Cardinals fullback, said he believes Kekua existed because he met her in person when he and other Polynesian teammates and Pittsburgh Steelers star Troy Polamalu went to do charity work in American Samoa in June 2011. "This was before her and Manti," Mauia said Wednesday evening. "I don't think Manti was even in the picture, but she and I became good friends. We would talk off and on, just checking up on each other kind of thing. I am close to her family. When she was going through the loss of her father, I was -- I offered a comforting shoulder and just someone to bounce her emotions off. That was just from meeting her in Samoa." Mauia said Tuiasosopo -- whom Mauia believes is Kekua's cousin -- introduced the two. After the initial meeting, Mauia said he met her at an "after-party" for all of the athletes involved in the camp. "She was tall," he said. "Volleyball-type of physique. She was athletic, tall, beautiful. Long hair. Polynesian. She looked like a model ... " He said it is his understanding that Kekua's mother is operating her Twitter account. He said he'd never met her mother. When told by a reporter that she apparently might not have existed, Mauia said: "No, she is real." Te'o is training in preparation for the NFL draft at the IMG Institute in Bradenton, Fla. He is No. 8 on Mel Kiper's latest draft board. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/...apparently-hoax QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 16, 2013 -> 11:04 PM) What has been said about Polumalu and this? Other than hes Samoan and that would then go back to my this is somehow like a nigerian prince scam. (edit) The Aikman part was a joke, I just hadnt read an connection with Polumalu. -

QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 14, 2013 -> 07:11 PM) Bears will meet with Trestman again this week. Darrell Bevell too. Seems that these are the 2 finalists for the job.

QUOTE (qwerty @ Jan 7, 2013 -> 06:23 AM) Maybe in a highly watered down fashon there are some similarities. The humor here is a blend of a few others, with a touch of its very own. Either way if you're into a fun ride drenched in surrealism this would rank rather high up there I would think. It should be noted this film is not gonna before everyone. Kalapse you have my approval, I say give it a go if you have not yet, this is right up your alley. Thank you, I'll be checking it out, no doubt. I've been in a serious movie drought the last few months, this could easily pull me out of my funk.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 01:53 PM) One sure first down was dropped which would have been a 20 yard gain, and then the play in the middle where he was supposed to post the LB, horrible positioning. Even the announcers mentioned that even though it was a bad/high throw, Davis did no favors to Cutler. In the case of Hester, the toy needs to be removed from the toybox. Its over, the guy isnt what he was paid to be, and what he was paid to be ended up ruining what he really was. There was another throw down the seem that was thrown over Davis' head, Kellen has this habit that once the ball is thrown he turns and squares up with the line of scrimmage, killing all of his momentum and forcing himself to leap for a ball that should be caught in stride further down the seem. He is truly one of the most worthless players I've ever seen a Bears uniform.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 1, 2012 -> 04:17 PM) Its really odd that Donna Noble is on The Office. Even odder that she's so incredibly unbearable on The Office. She was only decent on Doctor Who but holy f*** is she a train wreck on her current project.

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Oct 3, 2012 -> 10:27 PM) Kalapse any thought about this season at all? It was a lot more fun than I thought it would be, the last few weeks sucked, Chris Sale is a badass, I look forward to watching Viciedo mature as a hitter, it blows my mind that I now respect Alex Rios as a ballplayer, it was a pleasure watching Adam Dunn do his thing and I find Robin Ventura incredibly annoying.

Your browser does not support iframes. "That is the greatest thing I've ever seen in my life." Agreed, F.P. Agreed. The first ever "phantom grand slam."

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 11, 2012 -> 06:36 PM) So 16th and 18th with 30 teams. Seems pretty average to me. Far from officially a lost cause. A tag you placed on him. Well, when a 2B sucks to high heaven teams tend to mix things up, there's also injuries to account for; the Sox are 23rd in 2B WAR this season. 24-30: the Weeks Brothers, Kelly Johnson, KC's Getz-Giavotella-Betancout, San Francisco's Scutaro-Theriot-Burriss, Detroit's Santiago-Infante-Raburn and Baltimore's Andino-Quintanilla-Flaherty.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 04:46 PM) What's Sale's era if you take out his last start? Once again, I get people are always worried about this kid but he's really given no indication of "slowing down" minus his last start. 3.58. 2 starts with 5 ER, 1 with 4, 1 with 2 and 2 with 1.

Carl Crawford, Adrian Gonzalez, Josh Beckett, Nick Punto to LAD

Gonzalez scratched from the lineup and his image is starting to be removed. Looks like this is happening. Loney also scratched. -
Jeter has to have complete 100% immunity from the PED policy, right? Even if he were somehow dumb/unlucky enough to test positive, that's one the commissioner sweeps under the rug without a second thought.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Aug 21, 2012 -> 06:34 AM) Danks is 26. Doesn't really matter whether or not they used one of his three option years this year. If you need to use an option on him when he's 30 then he's not really worth keeping. Agreed but it was one of the complaints when he was sent down.
-
QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Aug 20, 2012 -> 07:32 PM) Danks coming back up per the Durham Bulls broadcast. He was pulled in the middle (no injury) of the game and left the DBAP already. Sucks, I wanted to see him tomorrow when I go to the game :/ If this is true then his being sent to Charlotte did not cost the Sox an option year since he was in the minors for less than 20 days. He's still sitting at 3.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Aug 13, 2012 -> 01:15 PM) I bought a doughnut and they gave me a receipt for the doughnut. I don't need a receipt for the doughnut. I'll just give you the money, and you give me the doughnut, end of transaction. We don't need to bring ink and paper into this. I just can't imagine a scenario where I would have to prove that I bought a doughnut. Some skeptical friend: "Don't even act like I didn't get that doughnut! I got the documentation right here...oh, wait it's at home...in the file...under "D", for "doughnut." RIP, Mitch you brilliant bastard.

QUOTE (RZZZA @ Aug 11, 2012 -> 03:47 PM) I was under the impression that Dan is a big power/offense type of player and Wise is...not. Isn't offense what we need right now? Dan Johnson is a 33 year old 1B with a .235/.334/.405/.739 batting line in 1520 career big league PA's.
-
QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Aug 10, 2012 -> 10:13 PM) Can't we get a decent looking girl with a brain to do the post game interviews? That was awful. Personally, I love Danks' candor calling Floyd "solid."

If you call up either of Jackson or Johnson; your next move -- when Konerko returns -- almost has to involve Hudson, Olmedo, Danks or someone going to the DL otherwise you expose Johnson or Jackson to waivers all for a few days of bench depth while Konerko clears the cobwebs. I'd say with relative certainty that Johnson has a 99% chance of being claimed and Jackson around 50%, that depth could really come in handy come September, no need to risk it now.
