@Kevin_Goldstein Kevin Goldstein So doing the Indians list has required a lot of talks with international folks, and thus a lot of side conversations on Yoenis Cespedes. @Kevin_Goldstein Kevin Goldstein Updated rankings, most likely to sign Yoenis Cespedes: 1. Chicago Cubs; 2. Florida Marlins; [big gap] 3. Philadelphia Phillies. -
This is big: @JonHeymanCBS Jon Heyman big blow for #tigers. team announces v-mart has suffered torn acl. Probably lost for the year.

And he K's again, pretty horrible AB. Going off the 1 AB I've seen from him, here is my scouting report: he f***ing sucks, wild, off balance hacks at bad pitches. He sure does fill out a jersey, though. Oh Miguel Tejada, you were once a roided up freak now you're just a big fat guy. -

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jan 3, 2012 -> 06:12 PM) Cowley is being a big doucher on twitter right now. Trying to start s*** between Garfien, Jermiane Dye, and the White Sox. And Dye is retweeting it. It was a nice run JD but time to unfollow. -
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jan 3, 2012 -> 02:01 PM) I loved that. And while I somewhat agree with NSS, he's a much better actor than Keanu Reeves. I guess my point would be that Keanu Reeves has never had a performance anywhere near as good as Farrell's in "In Bruges". In order to pull off that role he has to have some acting chops. And yeah: "In Bruges", "Ed Wood" and "Sweet Smell of Success" are my 3 favorite all time movies in no particular order, that's how good that movie was, IMO.
-
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 3, 2012 -> 01:52 PM) Farrell? In a spy thriller? I'll pass. That guy is just another Keanu Reeves to me, he isn't an actor, he has one character that happens to sometimes fit the movie, and is almost always irritating. He was terrific in "In Bruges".

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jan 2, 2012 -> 08:04 PM) http://twitter.com/JermaineDye FYI. Seems active and interesting. Oh, and if you're not following Brandon McCarthy do yourself a favor follow him now, not only was he a key member of the '05 team's championship run but he's the best athlete on twitter, IMO. -
Supposedly Boras is looking for 5 years, $60M for Jackson. Good luck with that.

QUOTE (beautox @ Jan 2, 2012 -> 01:01 AM) Honestly I would love to see the sox move pk and aj to south beach opening up first to acquire morales and a spec for the likes of thornton. Lets make the continue to make the south side of chicago a prime destination for cuban defectors. Your avatar is one of the greatest things I have ever seen. Wow, is that awesome. Is that a Conan bit? -
Goldstein's made that comparison a few times in the past, aside from the facial resemblance they have very similar builds. KW also compared the two yesterday.

6 for 22, 60 yards, INT and a fumble, he'll forever be known as a Pro Bowl QUARTERBACK and probably get MVP votes (hopefully not after all these late season losses). What a f***ing joke. -

QUOTE (Lillian @ Jan 1, 2012 -> 02:18 PM) Well, let me ask the question in another way and get straight to the point. If he gets that kind of contract to sign and ends up being a pretty productive player, how much is it likely to cost altogether for his services until he reaches free agency? There's really no way of answering that question right now. -
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jan 1, 2012 -> 01:50 PM) About $96M.
-
QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jan 1, 2012 -> 01:48 PM) What's the payroll sitting at now? I wonder if Kenny is done trimming. About $96M.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 1, 2012 -> 01:37 PM) Stocking up on mediocre at best talent doesn't get you victories. With all the minor leaguers KW has acquired this winter, how much has the Sox farm system moved up ? I'm guessing not very far. Trading away mediocre major league talent brings back mediocre, if not projectable minor league talent, that's what's gone down the last 2 days. What exactly are you b****ing about? You were just arguing that picking up Frasor's option just to trade him was risky because the worst case scenario is he gets hurt in the 2 months of offseason it took to trade him, what the f*** kind of logic is that?
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 1, 2012 -> 01:35 PM) I don't care how good your farm system is, if a guy isn't in your top 20, he's not very elite, even if it makes him a top 5 or top 10 in the White Sox system. Are we supposed to be bringing in elite talent for Quentin and Frasor?
