QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 17, 2011 -> 07:26 PM) Popped my Community cherry tonight. Always late to the good parties. Can you imagine bouncing a check to Kunta Kente? You picked the right episode to jump on board, it's right up there with the paintball episode and Goodfellas parody as the best of them all. I regret even pegging those 2 as my other favorites, the series run has been packed with incredible comedy.

Some thoughts on NBC sitcoms: 1.) The Office is OFFICIALLY dead to me. Garbage. 2.) Adam Scott, despite being tough to look at, is a very funny man (as witnessed on Party Down) and showcased his talents on tonight's Parks and Rec. Well done, Mr. Scott. 3.) How the f*** does Community keep getting better? Donald Glover just sitting comatose in the presence of LeVar Burton is one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. "more fish for Kunta", classic.

This should clarify things a bit: @jonmorosi Jon Morosi #MLB doesn’t have a conduct policy that stipulates discipline for players charged with crimes. Don’t expect a suspension w Cabrera. #Tigers 35 minutes ago via web

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 11, 2011 -> 02:24 AM) Lol. I can't believe you have that. And I don't know why I thought that second one was off Wood. Nice. Huh, I just assumed all REAL Sox fans had that video handy.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 11, 2011 -> 12:19 AM) Better bat-flip? AJ's or PK's after that second bomb off Wood in '02? No f***ing contest, my friend. Keep in mind Konerko was hit in the head by a pitch earlier in the game, I just assume he hit the 2nd while suffering from a severe concussion. (the 2nd was off Borowski)

QUOTE (joeynach @ Feb 10, 2011 -> 01:46 AM) Maybe your right. I wasnt sure if its a regular team option that vests if traded, or an option that only exists if he gets traded. Yeah, it only existed if he were traded some time before his 10/5 rights kicked in midway through last season. As of right now (baring a new deal) his contract will 100% end at the following the 2011 season, the Sox control him in no way beyond that point. In lieu of giving him a no trade clause for the '09/'10 season the Sox and Buehrle installed a number of escalators and clauses that kicked in if he were traded, a guaranteed 5th year (2012) was one of those clauses. It was never an "option" per say, just another guaranteed year of pay and since he wasn't traded and his 10/5 rights kicked in on July 15th those clauses are null and void.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 9, 2011 -> 11:52 PM) I know it's almost damn impossible at this point but you guys are about to make this a filibuster thread so be careful. It was a filibuster thread about 5 hours ago, however there's nothing going on in PHT right now so I feel in no way compelled to move it.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 8, 2011 -> 11:39 PM) The last time the Twins won a playoff game, George W Bush was President...and he would be re-elected less than a month later. I had just started my junior year in high school. Barry Bonds had 703 home runs. Jeromy Burnitz finished 8th in the NL in home runs. Should I keep going on? It could be pretty fun. Wait? You mean the same year that New York Yankees right fielder Gary Sheffield finished 2nd in AL MVP voting and a couple of young AL West 3B were showing the game a glimpse of the future with career years: the incomparable Hank Blalock (23, .855 OPS, AS) and the unstoppable Eric Chavez (26, .898 OPS).

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 8, 2011 -> 10:17 PM) Is this right? The White Sox have won more playoff games than the Twins over the past 3 years? And the White Sox have more World Series titles in the past 10 years? But I thought the Twins were one of the top teams in the league! The Sox have twice as many playoff victories in the past 6 years than the Twins do in the past 19.

QUOTE (WhiteSUX @ Feb 8, 2011 -> 11:11 PM) You guys do realize we've been in the playoffs 6 out of the last 9 years. while you have been watching pre-season bears games at hooters sports bar. Alright I'll give you guys the 2005 season but at that time the baseball world was still in shock by the red sox winning the 2004 series. You guys really pulled a fast one on us. What fun is the playoffs when you're being swept by the A's and Yankees?
