  1. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 10:19 PM) Funniest thing is Francona snubbing his own ace. I almost s*** myself when I didn't see Clement's name on the roster. Even though it didn't open a spot for a Gacia, Politte or Hermanson.
  2. So who did you guys vote for, for the 32nd man? I just cast my ballot for Jeter and Webb.
  3. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 10:12 PM) Good to see the players go by name recognition too. The fans picked the more deserving players than the players did.
  4. I voted for Mark. The stats don't lie.
  5. OH yeah and Nathan was voted in by the players not picked by Francona.
  6. QUOTE(knightni @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 06:58 PM) Kalapse is going to lose feeling in his hand voting for Pods so much, then. You know me all to well.
  7. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 05:23 PM) 5 minutes later I still can't even f***ing believe that bulls***. JOE GOD DAMN NATHAN!!!!!!!!! Over two of the best relievers in baseball. JOE f***ING NATHAN Holy s*** I just realized f***ing Pudge made it over Posada. f*** you Francona I thought you would be better at this. I just got home from work. I went straight to ESPN.com and checked the AL roster. I saw a bunch of names that I knew I'd see and then I saw Joe Nathan. I immediatley yelled out "JOE f***ING NATHAN, You hav got to be s***ting my, how the f*** does JOE f***ING NATHAN make it over Politte and Hermanson!" And what the f*** did I tell you about Pudge huh? He made just as I gaurenteed.
  8. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 01:39 PM) Eckstein and DLee won their positions for the NL according to FOX yesterday The fan vote came around this year.
  9. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 01:36 PM) They showed on FOX yesterday: Manny/Damon/Vlad Good that's the way it should be. I've been working like crazy the past couple day, havn't seen any updated vote standings.
  10. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 01:34 PM) Damon's a starter as he was 3rd in voting. Who dropped out, Ichiro? The last I saw it was Manny/Vlad/Suzuki in the Outfield.
  11. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 01:32 PM) Uhhh huh... Seriously who cares. We're talking about a game thats more then likely going to feature such great talent as Tino Martinez... It's a joke. Remember who we send last year. Loazia. A mediocre Loazia at that. Martinez won't make the team. Teixeira/Sweeney/possibly Sexson.
  12. Thought I'd dig this up for anyone who thinks Halladay has better stats than Buehrle. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 12:37 PM) 2005 Statistical Breakdow, Buehrle Vs. Halladay. Halladay - W:11, L:4, ERA:2.4, CG:5, SHO:2, H:107, BB:16, SO:98, WHIP:0.94, OPSA:.577, BAA:.222, K/BB:5.44, BB/9:1.10, K/9:6.73, H9:7.35 Buehrle - W:10, L:1, ERA:2.42, CG:2, SHO:1, H:110, BB:17, SO:79, WHIP:1.04, OPSA:.594, BAA:.242, K/BB:4.16 BB/9:1.25, K/9: 5.80, H9:8.07 I'm just wondering if anyone can look at these stats and tell me that Buehrle is more deserving than Halladay. It's ultra close in EVER SINGLE category. So it really is a toss up, however if you really want the more deserving pitcher to start you have to go with Halladay. Just for the record as a Sox fan I would love to see Buehrle start the AS game but as a Baseball fan I just can't rationalize it. We should be happy if Buehrle and Jon don't start it gives them more rest and less stress.
  13. QUOTE(wilmot825 @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 01:26 PM) Rumors around baseball are that Roy Halladay will start the All-Star game for the American League. Eventhough I am a Sox fan, I believe that Buehrle or Garland should start because they both have better stats then Halladay. Who knows, one of the two Sox pitchers will start the game. But for now everyone in baseball is all over Halladay and have blinders on to Buehrle and Garland. Ozzie said in the news he would prefer that no White Sox pitcher start the All-Star game, beacuase it would mess up the rotation. Garland will make his first All-Star game this year and Buehrle will be in his, I'm guessing, his 5th game. Lets hope Franconna comes to his senses and picks the right pitcher to start the game that will determine if the Sox will have home-field advantage come October. Ummm... NO
  14. Deservidly so. Would have loved to see Buehrle get the nod but if this is true then let Buehrle get his innning in and hit the bench. Congrats to Halladay. He's having a superb season.
  15. Prediction: Mark Buehrle, Jon Garland and one of Hermy/Politte will make it. Sexson will get the backup 1st base spot over Pauly because he's the bigger name. If it were any other manager for the AL team we would have 3 guys from our starting rotation in the game but since it's Francona we won't be seeing Freddy. All of this talk in the media about Podsednik possibly making the team has me thinking. There is about a 1000:1 shot. One more thing Francona gets to pick 1 position player that player with out a doubt in my mind will be Johnny Damon.
  16. to Esteban, he's a stand up guy. Probably one of the nicest players I've ever met.
  17. QUOTE(forrestg @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 12:54 PM) How about Kaz Matsui, He's not plAYING. he's not adjusting to the mets but there is a lot of players that have trouble in the big apple. His contract is done at the end of the year and I think the mets might just let him go.. I think his stock would rise in Chicago. If you're talking about Kaz Matsui then no, he is a 2B/SS which we really don't need. Not to mention the fact that he's on the DL and bad. If you're talking about Kaz Ishii than no, he's bad. He can't get anyone out in the National League, why would he be able to get American League hitters out. 5.67 ERA, he's worse than Contreras.
  18. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 12:54 PM) My thoughts exactly Kalapse. Personally I think Danica Patrick is hotter. Agreed. Danica Patrick >> Jenny Finch. That Maxim spread was Hawt.
  19. I'm probably well there's no probably about it I am in the minority here but I don't think Jenny Finch is all that good looking. She has a nice body and all but I just feel she's overrated because she's an athlete. She looks like a f***ing Goldfish!!!!!!!!
  20. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 11:48 AM) I remember people saying that Chavez won't get back to his norm, but he's just about there now. Just saying that some players are proven talents and you can't judge them on a small sample size. Chavez is 28 years old and had 1 1/3 bad years anyone who said that he wouldn't get back to form is f***ing retarded. The difference between Schmidt and Chavez is first of all age. Chavez is 5 years younger than Schmidt and has never been injured, he was just underperforming. Schmidt on the other hand is a 32 year old pitcher with arm problems. The guy doesn't have the same velocity that he once had and because of that he is no longer the dominating pitcher he once was. However what the Giants would want for him is a package equivalent to if he was still a Cy Young calebor pitcher.
  21. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 11:50 AM) I think we just gave him the 1 million, and it has proven to be a waste of a million. You're right we did sign Ben Davis and at the time the team thought he was going to be the primary catcher. He made $1.4 mil last year so he actually got a pay cut.
  22. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 11:19 AM) The White Sox will probably give him a new contract over the offseason and forget about arbitration. He'll get his 3 year deal at the end of the season. No doubt the Sox would be willing to sign Garland to a 3-year contract. The question is would Garland except such a contract? I say he'd rather go to arbitration and take a one year deal worth whatever the arbitrator feels he's worth. Didn't an arbitrator give Ben Davis $1mil last offseason?
  23. I must work today so I will not be around when they announce the players. I'll be home around 10:00 so I can b**** about who got snubbed and how stupid the whole thing is, even though it's just a stupid exhibition game that means nothing, I know it's stupid.
  24. QUOTE(That funky motion @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 09:02 AM) So do you sign him now? Do you sign him at the end of the year. What to do!! He'll go to arbitration and the Sox will pay whatever the arbitrator says he's worth.
  25. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 12:24 AM) The only thing I have really heard so far is.... Bay-Canada Tejada-DR Jones-Curaco I'd say then. DLee-US Matsui-Japan? you'd think they'd want a Japenese player in there even if he doesn't make the AS team. Cabrera/Abreu-Venezuela probably Cabrera Delgado-Puerto Rico What other country is there? Mexico maybe V. Castilla.
