So Carlos will be representing Panama huh. Who the hell else were they gonna pick from that country, Jose Macias? If they're only gonna have one player from every country in the HR Derby that means we won't be seeing one of Pujols or defending champion Tejada, both of which are from the Dominican Republic. Also no Big Pappy? If you only have one american player do you choose DLee, Teixiera, Dunn? A lot of the best HR hitters this year atleast are American. Does this mean Andruw Jones will be representing Curacao?

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 2, 2005 -> 11:38 PM) Hey Bogut, f*** you. What the f*** have you proven? Wow he's calling a player with 3 Championships under his belt and he hasn't even played a damn game yet. :headshake

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 2, 2005 -> 11:23 PM) Haha, my exact quote to my friend was, "Imagine if we had him batting behind Pods and Iguchi." Smartass goes, "Or we could just take them off your hands." DLee+Pods+Gooch=insanity DLee +Pods+Gooch=150 RBIs for DLee. Kevin Walker, Roosevelt Brown and Greg Norton for DLee in the offseason? They need need bullpen help (Walker), they need a leftfielder (Brown) and they'll need someone to fill in at 1B (Norton). Just a thought.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 2, 2005 -> 11:17 PM) I was talking to my best friend today, Cubs fan. He's so f***ing furious, rightfully. that Dusty continues to hit two of the s***test OBP men in the leauge above DLee. We were discussing who could hit above him. I suggested, Hairston leading off playing everday, Walker hitting 2. Now there's some RBI's for Lee. I know people probably don't like talking about the Cubs. But... Any thoughts? Imagine if D. Lee had Pods and Gooch hitting in front of him. :drool Triple Crown fo sho.

Buehrle 2-5 w/ a 4.01 ERA vs. the Athletics over the last 3 years.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jul 2, 2005 -> 10:38 PM) I like our chances to win a series in Oakland with MB going to the bump tomorrow. Most definetly. He is our stopper.

1-1 so far in the series. We're looking good.

QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Jul 2, 2005 -> 10:31 PM) I thought Jon signed a 3 year contract? or was it one year? 1 year $3.4MIL, he hits Arbitration this offseason.
-
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jul 2, 2005 -> 10:26 PM) isnt garland due for arbitration at the end of the season not end of his contract? Yeah next year he's Arb. eligable. Just saying if he wins like 22 games this year. He'll make more money than he's worth in arbitration.

Beware a player on his contract year. *cough*Beltre*cough*

If they wanted to make over the AS game and give it a bit of credibility they could: 1.) Eliminate the fan vote, the people who vote don't know s***, they vote by name recognition and what team the player is on. "but it's the fans game, they should have a say in who they want to see at their game." My ass, most fans want the fan vote elimated anyway seeing how it has made a mockery of the game. 2.) Simply have the Managers and Players vote on who they believe should start and who they believe should be the backups. The players/managers are more likely to pick the most deserving of their peers than the fans are. 3.) Eliminate the "Every team must have a Rep rule". Why should an ultra s***ty team like KC have a rep in the AS game because the fans of that team will watch to see their undeserving bad player suck in the AS game, please. This is the only thing I like about the NBA AS game, when was the last time the Bulls had a rep? And deservedly so. Oakland and KC will be sending most likely either a hurt Sweeney or a bad Emil Brown and one of the undeserving relievers of Duchscherer or Street. Eliminating this rule will free up two spots on the roster for more deserving players. Mike Williams(6.44 ERA) was an All-Star as was Lance Carter. :puke There's more I can come up with but it's 3 AM and I am very tired.

We shall break it down one last time. Though it won't happen seeing how the Coach of the AL AS is Francona. Lets compare Freddy Garcia's stats with Matt Clement's shall we. Garcia - W:8, L:3, ERA:3.29, CG:1, SHO:0, H:96, BB:29, SO:77, WHIP:1.12, OPSA:.641, BAA:.231, K/BB:2.57, BB/9:2.33, K/9:6.19, H9:7.71 Clement - W:9, L:2, ERA:3.82, CG:1, SHO:0, H:104, BB:35, SO:88, WHIP:1.28, OPSA:.672, BAA:.251, K/BB:2.51 BB/9:2.91, K/9: 7.31, H9:8.64 It's a damn shame Francona is the manager of the AL AS team, though he does deserve to be.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jul 2, 2005 -> 02:28 AM) I donno. Maybe cuz he knows that when we finally do win one, it will be that much better. Just look at the Bo Sox.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 2, 2005 -> 02:21 AM) God watches to much tv, he thinks the Sox only care about the Cubs. Or maybe he just listens to the misplaced priorities of a large portion of Sox fans. :fthecubs give me a White Sox winner.
-
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jul 2, 2005 -> 02:07 AM) Dude, God has always been a Sox fan. Why do you think the Cubs choke every year? Then why are the Sox always Average/slightly above average every year and never win s***?

Randy Johnson now has ZERO chance of being an All-Star. 4.24 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, .306 OBA

QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Jul 2, 2005 -> 12:49 AM) From the Cincy Enquirer I know the Sox aren't mentioned, but it would be nice if Kenny could do to the Reds what Hendry did to the Pirates a couple of years back. Getting a package of Dunn, Randa, and a bullpen arm like Ramon Ortiz would be fantastic. What position does Dunn play for the Sox then this year? -

The Dodgers want a power hitter and have set their sights on several reasonably priced players who might be available in the next few weeks, says the Los Angeles Times They are: Cincinnati's Adam Dunn, Tampa Bay's Aubrey Huff and Carl Everett of the White Sox.
