  1. Other than "Bohemian Rhpsody" I'd say "Fat Bottom Girls" is my favorite song by Queen. I don't know why but that song is just damn good.
  2. I don't understand why the Yankees would ever want to make a deal with the Mets and Vice Versa. It's like the Sox making a trade with the Cubs. They're too close to be making deals with eachother.
  3. QUOTE(Carlo Paz @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 01:34 AM) I am truly f***ing baffled at the talk of Konerko as an all-star. Can someone please explain it? Check the stats he's the second best 1st basman in the AL behind Teixiera.
  4. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 01:33 AM) Ok, thanks kalapse, I remember he was in a bunch of jams that game and I think he worked around a few of 'em so maybe that's why I thought he had a real good outing. FWIW that was the Rowand 2HR game at Fenway. Ben Davis also had 4 RBI.
  5. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 01:29 AM) IIRC he did pitch a pretty good game at fenway for us last year at some point but when he was with NY he definitely got lit up against the Red Sox. Chicago White Sox IP H R ER BB SO HR Contreras W(10-5) 6 4 4 4 5 8 1 He got the win and 8 strikeouts while only allowing 4 hits, the problem is he walked 5 and gave up 4 ERs. Not very encouraging.
  6. QUOTE(danman31 @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 01:20 AM) Except if you listen he says fair ball, not foul ball. He did fine. Your hearing was the only thing botched about that call. Can you say pwn3d
  7. So no Politte or Hermanson. I see Buehrle, Garland and Konerko making it but the outfield is already cloged up enough for Pods to make it. And he's saying that they're going to carry 3 Catchers? Varitek, IROID and AJ? I don't see that happening.
  8. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 12:55 AM) God Jeckle just Owned himself right there. He tends to do that.
  9. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 12:51 AM) I just rejected a trade of Zambrano for Perez yesterday. Oh well, I think Zambrano is going on the DL soon anyways. Carlos? he pitched an 8 inning shutout today. He was unbelievable. I doubt he goes on the DL.
  10. You're right, we are lucky. We suck badly and should probably be in 3rd place. We'll fade after the All-Star break and miss the playoffs again.
  11. GO BUEHRLE! HE SHOULD START! Anyone who thinks halladay should start is a Blue Jay's fan. Roy Halladay has better stats than Buehrle in almost every f***ing category. Halladay is having he better season and should start the All-Star game. Picking Halladay over Buehrle does not make you any less of a Sox fan and it does not meen you don't love Buehrle.
  12. QUOTE(3E8 @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 11:27 PM) Where's the Crede one you were gonna do? I'm working on it. It's going to be killer.
  13. If you're going to smoke crack can you please not make topics afterwords.
  14. QUOTE(Wolverine31 @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 11:38 PM) This game just illustrates how lucky the White Sox have been this year. You have well over 20 one run wins this year. You are bound to come tumbling back to Earth next season because you are not as good as your record indicates, not by a long shot. That lead off triple scores most of the time, but the White Sox lucked out again. Plus, I think it's highly likely your pitchers are having career years rather than having established a new level of performance. This game just stunk. That shot in the 9th should have been out. The sick thing is that as a Tigers fan, I knew after it stayed in Comerica Canyon, that we wouldn't score. That's how little faith I have for hackers like Dmitri Young and Craig Monroe to even hit a sac fly in the clutch. It seems like these guys choke the big one and try for home runs rather than do the small things that win games. It seems like we find a way to lose lately, like the botched double play in Arizona that cost us to lose a game where we gave up no earned runs. BTW, Ordonez is rehabbing in Toledo and is supposed to be back at the end of the week. We will see if it actually was the knee that was bothering him. Hope he can produce. :finger :finger
  15. I downloaded it and have been messing around with it for a while, one of the coolest programs I've ever seen.
  16. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 11:01 PM) Haven't seen it mentioned, but thanks to Foulke, Timlin gave up 2 ER so his ERA is now 1.64. The problem with that is his manager is the Coach of the AL AS team, so Timlin would get selected over Politte if he was to take a middle reliever.
  17. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 10:52 PM) That is santo your talking to... Holy s***, WTF was I thinking.
  18. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 10:34 PM) I disagree. Wickman almosts always comes in with nobody on base and the lead, whereas a guy like Politte comes in with runners on base and possibly a tied ballgame. Hell, Wickman has inherited 4 runners this year and 3 of them have scored.. Saves can be the most misleading stat IMO. Farmer talked about how he heard Mike Timlin as an All-Star and argue the case for Politte. BTW, I can't believe how big this thread has blown up. Santo, don't bother with any sort of logic. The guy was completely blind to anything but saves and ERA. He was running around in circles ignoring obvious statistics that proved him wrong.
  19. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 10:14 PM) Heres is what I expect to happen before the trade deadline: KW picks up another start- Schmidt, Zito or Burnett. 1. McCarthy gets sent back down to triple-a for some seasoning. (unless he is part of the deal to aqcuire a starter) 2. El-duque comes back from the DL and goes to the bulpen. A trade like this kills 2 birds with 1 stone. We add a solid arm to our already strong pen and gain an outstanding starter. Makes sense- go for it KW!! If you're going to trade for one of those pitchers, most likely BMac would be a main part of any package you send to one of those teams so your #1 isn't even possible.
  20. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 10:05 PM) Team - 3 mil buyout ^^^
  21. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 09:57 PM) I don't think so. He's already got one starter with injury issues, and Burnett is a free agent at the end of the year, and it is unlikely we'd sign him. I don't think Kenny would make a move for a rent a player (obviously this is also an issue with Schmidt, although I believe he has a rather sizeable option). '06 Schmidt has a $10 Mil option.
  22. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 09:51 PM) Looks like Zito is pitching better than Schmidt tonite. As i said before Zito is getting hot as the season progresses. He has always been a 2nd half pitcher- just food for thought. Oakland is now 8-2 in their last 10 and only 7 games out of the WildCard. They're not going to trade Zito. They're going to try and make a run at the playoffs.
  23. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 09:44 PM) Uh, no. We should've had Foulke for his good years instead of Koch, and Foulke still might have walked and signed with the Red Sox in free agency. Cotts>Foulke
