  1. QUOTE(CubsSuck1 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 10:47 PM) That and the 8-0 comeback againts the cubs capped by Konerko's 2nd HR. No that was Konerko's HR to tie the game in the 10th and Frank's HR to win the game in the 12th against the Twins in 2003. Carl Everett and Robbie Alomar's first games.
  2. I have threatened to kill many a person for waving at the camera while on their cell phones. I just can't f***ing stand it.
  3. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 10:40 PM) Right, so Everett is bigger, same weight on a shorter guy=bigger, no? Si
  4. Stranded all 3. The ERAs will stay. Mark Buehrle is 2nd behind Rogers by .02 runs.
  5. Kenny Rogers' current ERA: 2.46 Mark Buehrle's current ERA: 2.48 We need one of those runs to score.
  6. HOLY s***. They're pulling him with the bases loaded and 6 ER already in.
  7. QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 10:05 PM) My post was not directed at the thread starter or necessarily at posts in this thread. Rather, it was directed to the general trend among Sox fans -- both here, at other websites, and in real life -- to start thinking too far ahead and thinking that victory is all but assured. Now, I pride myself on not going out before the start of the season and declaring "This is the year" or pre-coronating my team. I look down upon fans of the national league ballclub who do that sort of stuff; but now I see the same behavior among my fellow Sox fans. Granted, it's more justified, but still. Reality check. That said, today the Twins are faced with a reality check too. And I totally prefer ours to theirs. I don't think that's a problem seeing how Sox fans are born naturally pessimistic. Just wait until the next loss and you'll see some true pessimism. Fire Ozzie, trade so and so, making up new nicknames for players who are under performing. It's the way Sox fans naturally think but when you have a 7 game win streak, the best record in baseball and a 10 game lead in your division people tend to get a little excited. I totally understand what your saying but for today, just today I want to get excited about this team in a true Homer point of view. Tomorrow I'll go back to thinking the end is near and the House of Cards effect.
  8. QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 09:55 PM) Big whoop. This team has won absolutely nothing. The 1983 team was up 20 games at one point. The 2001 Mariners were around that too. The 2000 White Sox were in the lower single-digits consistently. They faded without winning a playoff game. The 2003 Royals were up 7.5 at the All-Star Game, 8.5 over the team that won the division that year. Where are the 2003 World Series flags at Kauffman? We must never, ever lose sight of reality, folks. This team has yet to win anything, this team is still vulnerable. This team can still improve, and I hope that Kenny isn't among those who is drunk with joy over our recent win streak. It sure sounds like Ozzie isn't. That said, it could be worse. Far worse. There's nothing wrong with celebrating that. But let's not go overboard. The thing about that is I'm not a player on the team, I don't have to take it one game at a time, I don't have to stay focused on winning ballgames. All I have to do is sit back and enjoy this team. I can look ahead, I can celebrate, I can assume, I can do what ever the f*** I want because what ever I do it will have no beering on what the club does. And right now I chose to recognize the fact that the Sox have a 10 game lead in the Central. And it feels damn good.
  9. QUOTE(Yoda @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 09:45 PM) Robertson with the CG. AND THE WHITE SOX ARE UP BY 10 GAMES Um..BOO YA.
  10. The Twins drop another to the Tigers and the Indians fall to the Red Sox. Our beloved White Sox now have a 10 game lead in the AL central! Team W L GB White Sox 49 22 - Twins 38 31 10 Indians 37 33 11.5 Tigers 35 33 12.5 Royals 25 47 24.0
  11. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 09:38 PM) It's a weird angle, Everett is shorter but bigger than Pauly. Pauly is not as big as people think. Everett is listed at 6'0" 215 LBs Konerko is listed at 6'2" 215 LBs Konerko's got 2 inches on him with equal weights.
  12. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 09:29 PM) 4 run 1st Hell yeah. Take him out now.
  13. QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 08:40 PM) I figured it for 5 IP and he would need 7 ER. The problem with that is Rogers' worst game this season 5.2 IP and 5 ER. But we can dream right.
  14. QUOTE(Benchwarmerjim @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 08:44 PM) oh yeah.. defense has been horrible The offense, yeah they havent been scoring runs, but the Sox dont score a lot of runs either and they have the best record in baseball The White Sox over this 7 game win streak have been hitting like nobodies business. They have scored atleast 4 runs in every game. 12-6 6-0 5-3 4-3 11-8 5-1 5-1 48 runs for the Sox over their last 7 games. Thats 6.86 runs per game. Not bad at all. Funny how this winning streak/offensive explosion started after that 10 run inning against Arizona, we all knew it was a huge uplifting game but this is just awesome.
  15. QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 08:42 PM) Actually, if the Twins keep losing, they'll improve their chances of taking this division. If we ever grow overconfident about them or write them off, BAM, they'll crush us. The Twins are not human, folks; one guy goes down, another comes up from the minor leagues and hits .400 or becomes an elite pitcher in his first year. They are a machine. They do not make many mistakes. We must take maximum advantage of every mistake they make; that is the only way to beat them, given the disadvantage of being human. Ozzie will never allow this team to get cocky or overcofident. He keeps them focusing on winnings series. If this team gets an even bigger lead in the division I gaurantee Ozzie won't pull a Manuael and start resting players so that they'll be rusty in the playoffs.
  16. QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 08:33 PM) Sorry if this has already been mentioned, but if Kenny Rogers has a s***ty game tonight, Buehrle could be leading the league in ERA. He'd have to have a pretty s***ty game.
  17. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 07:25 PM) Chris Young, Jake Westbrook, Jason Johnson???? Chris young has been f***ing dominate this year, Jake Westbrook has caught nothing but bad breaks all season and Jason Johnson is just an excellent pitcher.
  18. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 06:44 PM) Brantley said on Sportscenter today he thinks the pitching staff can keep up its stellar performance. The windsock also got Hermanson's first name right for the first time ever, but referred to the player acquired from Seattle last year for Reed, Morse and Olivo as Freddy Guzman. Bob Brantley is a complete f***ing moron. How do you get a job on Television with ESPN and not know s*** about the current game of Baseball?
  19. QUOTE(sec159row2 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 02:47 PM) prostitution... did I use profession improperly??? They don't have prostitutes in Canada, so he wouldn't know.
  20. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 06:39 PM) How do you know? My Contact
  21. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 06:39 PM) Ozzie has already said he would not be going even if invited....he has to settle his citizenship paperwork over that weekend That's right, I forgot he was becomming a US citizen over the All-Star break.
  22. QUOTE(Southside hitmen @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 06:36 PM) Ozzie isnt an all-star coach.. I can see Trammel because the game is in Detroit but WTF is Macha picked over Gullien.. Francona called Ozzie before the game today. He left a message, Ozzie hasn't heard the message yet. He has possibly asked him.
  23. QUOTE(needauribe @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 06:23 PM) Where in the park do you go to say hi to Nancy? Her booth.
