QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 11:39 PM) I agree, Mauer>Aj Actually right now performance wise AJ>Mauer But potential wise Mauer>>>AJ Some people are already calling Morneau and Mauer the modern day M&M brothers comparing them to Mantle and Maris. Though it is still too soon to be making comparison's like this it is entirely plausible.

KW response to Everett, Buehrle & Ozzie comments..

I love this move. Use the offdays to your advantage, you have to try and keep el Duque as healthy as possible for the stretch run. Weren't most of us assuming they were going to do this through out the entire year comming into this season? -
QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 09:29 PM) Wow, I have to say I'm doubly grateful to the Twins for sucking so much today. First, they're current team SUCKS all the way to a 7-2 loss, then the catcher that they were stupid enough to let go (SUCKY personnel department) hits the GW HR for us! So, for those of you keeping score at home, the Twinkies STILL SUCK! They weren't stupid in letting AJ go. They had Joe Mauer who in my book looks like he will become a damn good player. It was time for AJ to go, Mauer was ready. The Giants are the dumbasses for picking Tomko over AJ.

I'm down. I don't care how childish and stupid it sounds, I want to win this s***.

QUOTE(rangercal @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 10:59 PM) kalapse, do you know if there gonna have 3 seperate polls for outfielder or just 1 poll and the top 3 get it. How do you think they are going to do the polls for sps and rps? They have seperate polls for all outfield positions LF/CF/RF. For Starting pitchers it is one big poll including all ten starters from the two Chicago teams. So it should finish: Buehrle Garland Garcia Contreras Hernandez Then they have 6 bullpen spots available and a poll including 12 pitchers out of the pen from Chicago. So it should finish: Hermanson Politte Cotts Marte Shingo Vizcaino Then you have a poll for all around bench. Sox Vs. Cubs. Sox will win. And finally a poll for Manager Ozzie Vs. Dusty. Ozzie all the way.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 09:54 PM) That was the most exciting game at USCF since Frank took Guardado deep to win the game in 2003. I think the Jose Paniagua era began and ended the next night or the night after that. The ninth inning was as wild as I have ever seen the park. Little old ladies with canes were high fiving everyone. As the Diceman once said,"Its unbelievable." I missed todays game (f***ing work) though I did tivo it. What makes up for it is that I was at that game in 2003, I'll never forget it. Konerko was struggling so bad at the time. It was crazy Carl and Robbie's first games as White Sox as well. Koch pitched the 11th and the 12th. He gave up the go ahead run in the top of the 11th. Then in the bottom of the 11th Konerko (who was horrible at the time) pinch hit for Daubach, the crowd was chanting Paulee, Paulee. He then proceeded to hit a bomb to left center. The crowd went absolutely ape s***. Koch worked a good top of the 12th not surendering a run. Then in the bottom of the 12 Robbie Alomar came up and just missed a HR down the left field line, just foul, he tehn walked. Frank Thomas came to the plate after I believe Tony G. made an out. Frank hit an absolute bomb to left field, the f***ing ball was a mile in the air. The crowd (which I think was around 20,000) was louder than I have ever heard a crowd. By far the best game I have ever attended.

All-City shortstop Who's the shortstop on your All-City team? 0.8% Neifi Perez, Cubs (21 responses) 99.2% Juan Uribe, White Sox (2643 responses) 2664 total responses My question is why do they even bother voting for Neifie at all?

QUOTE(rangercal @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 03:34 PM) Im sure we are not the only site with a link to that site. I never used the link anyway. I set it as my homepage. I know the other guys who voted probably did the same thing. Indeed. Homepage is the way to go.

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 02:08 PM) I thought we had Gary more than once. Could be wrong though. 18-Jul-04: Montreal Expos traded Carl Everett to the Chicago White Sox for Jon Rauch and Gary Majewski. 18-Mar-03: Returned as a Rule 5 selection to the Chicago White Sox from the Toronto Blue Jays. 16-Dec-02: Selected by the Toronto Blue Jays from the Chicago White Sox in the Rule 5 minor league draft. 26-Jul-01: Chicago White Sox traded James Baldwin to the Los Angeles Dodgers for Onan Masaoka, Gary Majewski and Jeff Barry. 18-Mar-01: Los Angeles Dodgers traded Antonio Osuna and Carlos Ortega to the Chicago White Sox for Gary Majewski, Andre Simpson and Orlando Rodriguez. 02-Jun-98: Drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 2nd round in 1998.

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 02:28 PM) Good thing you're not GM. It's fine the way it is. I'm pretty sure a GM has no say in the alignment of the league.

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 02:21 PM) As the saying goes, "If you ain't cheating, you ain't trying!" Anyway, it's all in good hearted nature. It's gamesmenship. I also think MB made the comment about Zambrano because he wanted to show that there are other guys who have experience besides Maddux. Eh well. That's exactly what he was saying.

Jesse Rogers is on the Score right now and he's playing MBs press conference from last night. Rogers should just let this s*** go. The funny thing is George Offman is the one that was grilling him during the press conference. He should never go on the Score again.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 01:29 PM) We had Gary Majewski? How'd we lose him...the Everett deal? I'd like to have him right about now. Everrett deal last year. Majewski and Rauch.

QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 01:29 PM) MY fear is that when the playoff roll around...We'll have a Jim Belushi sighting!! AHHHHHHHHHH!!!! :puke :puke He is the biggest celeb-sports-whore around. Any Chicago team in the playoffs can put money on the fact that Jim will stop by, wear that team's hat and show up in the booth to chat about his show and how he is Mr. Chicago... Ugh He tried his damndest to ruin Bears football for me last year. I hate that fat glutten.

That's cool. I just don't want the Cell to become a circuis, I'm way to fond of that place to see it go down that road.

26-Jul-01: Chicago White Sox traded James Baldwin to the Los Angeles Dodgers for Onan Masaoka, Gary Majewski and Jeff Barry. He was making $5.95 mil

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 01:08 PM) AM 1000 played the whole retort interview. Once again he wasn't implicating anyone. He was naming every Cub pitcher to make that point that he wasn't pointing out any individual and the press was just putting words in his mouth. He sounded pissed too, all this bulls*** is starting to get old in his mind.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 12:59 PM) Maddux basically has the right to say whatever he wants. His career trumps Buehrle's with so much leverage it's not even funny. The problem is that Buehrle was NOT talking about Maddux. Buehrle is speaking from his own "years of experience". The media twisted it by saying the pitcher he was talking about has had many great "years of experience". I don't know how many of you caught the post game press conference with Mark but he basically came out and said it was Zambrano. Yeah I was listening to it on my way back from the Cell. Buehrle said that he was talking about a guy who has had success in the bigh leagues and then mentioned Zambrano and Wood. Haven't seen that printed anywhere, funny how they report what they want to report.

QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 12:51 PM) Redman was in the rotation for the Marlins Championship Season. He's a national league pitcher, it's as simple as that. -
QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 12:52 PM) How do you get it to vote so much? Nobody answer that question. I'm serious. PMs only.
