Bill Mueller could be traded to the White Sox
Kalapse replied to redandwhite's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 12:18 AM) Except my mention of it. I heard once that a rumor that one poster on SoSH started, actually got brought into the papers, and from the papers the move was made. It wasn't anything major, but perhaps something like designating Timo Perez for assignment. After Mueller is traded to the White Sox, my next goal will be to have Timo dumped... actually that should probably be first.. im on it.. There is no mention of this at SoSH is that the next site you're gonnna hit? -

QUOTE(shagar69 @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 12:07 AM) so is this an actual rumor or some WSI bulls*** There is absolutely no mention of this over at WSI. FWIW. -
s***, I was at work and forgot to PM the guy. Looks like I'm getting no points today. Maybe this is the beginning of the end.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 07:22 PM) Yes. I'm just saying it was brutal. Just Clearifying.
-
QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 07:19 PM) OMFG. Brutal. You do know that isn't Pods' fault right?

Any ball that strikes an Umpire who is in play is a live ball.

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 05:54 PM) In my first post ever on Soxtalk, let me say that I believe El Duque will sense the importance of this game and come up big tonight. The question is, will the offense follow suit? Welcome to Soxtalk

Bears or Sox? Which gets you more juiced
Kalapse replied to Benson&Rexage's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE(Benson&Rexage @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 01:48 PM) I would rather not watch football than watch the Colts though. And Bobby Knight is an overrated piece of trash whose fan base in old imbread hicks from southern and central Indiana. Try quoting a real basketball coach like coach K or Dean Smith or even Lute Olsen I am really befounded how you could root for the Sox and not be a bears fan but I am happy that you at least have made one smart choice in whom you root for Go Sox Start Watching the Bear and stop watching the Colts and worshiping Bobby Knight There are plenty of Bears fans at IU find one At least you are not a Twins or Cubs fan Hostile. -
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 05:07 PM) LOL... at least I made Mac, Jurko, and Harry. First email too. They hate Mariotti too. So that was you on critics? Nice

QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 03:42 PM) Update Minimum: 60 IP 2. Johan Santana 0.89 WHIP 16. Chris Young 1.15 WHIP Top 10 WHIP list for closers with no minimum IP: 2. Francisco Rodriguez 0.90 WHIP 7. BJ Ryan 1.04 WHIP 8. Chris Reitsma 1.04 WHIP 9. Chad Cordero 1.06 WHIP I have those players. My relief pitching is ridiculously dominate. Normally Bedard is in the top 20 but he's on the DL so I'd normally have 3 starters.

QUOTE(SouthSidePride05 @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 05:07 PM) Very! That's why I just laughed it off. WTF were you doing listening to their conversations and not hitting on them? What were you thinking?
-
QUOTE(SouthSidePride05 @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 05:01 PM) What's the most embarrassing thing you've heard or seen from clueless people at the game? Last night I was sitting behind 6 or 7 high school girls, and they weren't even watching the game, just talking and socializing. In the first inning, the crowd started cheering for JC on the mound, with 2 strikes and 1 out w/ man on 3rd. They proceeded to cheer with everyone else, and then the fly ball. They stood up to see if it was caught, and when it was caught they started jumping up and down going crazy and giving each other high fives, not even realizing they had scored a run. In the next inning, one of the girls asks 'where's the scoreboard, how do we know what the score is?'... and the other girls says 'I never even thought of that, if you hadn't mentioned it, I would've never looked for a scoreboard' as they all laughed. Then they started talking about different cute guys at their school, not even looking at the field. Were they hot?

We didn't draft him. He was signed as an undrafted free agent. He was however drafted in the 2002 draft by the Twins in the 43rd round. He did not sign.

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 03:52 PM) PS I believe the Rowand lead-off experiment is officially over. When Scotty Pods is not in the lineup, I'm all for leading off with Pablo. I wouldn't say that just yet. Ozzie isn't just going to rule off Arow in the leadoff spot because he goes 0-4 in one game. Last year Rowand played 43 games in the leadoff spot, he had 163 ABs and he hit .319/.369/.607 thats a .976 OPS. He hit 11 of his 27 HRs in the leadoff spot along with 12 2Bs, 31 runs and 32 RBIs. Rowand may have gone 0-4 yesterday in the 1 spot but last year he was extremely effective. Pods is by far the superior leadoff hitter but when Pods is out of the lineup don't be surprised if you see Rowand leading off.

QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 04:03 PM) Felipe Lopez has the best stats at SS in the NL. Noone knows who he is. If you asked the average fan about Felipe Lopez they would have no clue who you were talking about. I for one bought his rookie card for $0.50 2 years ago when he was still a prospect in the Blue Jays organization. He should start at SS but he won't.

It seems the soxtalk.com url no longer works in Firefox. Instead you have to use the url of the soxtalk homepage. -

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 03:46 PM) Just heard the lineup on Mac, Jurko, and Harry Pod Iguchi Rowand Konerko Everett Dye Pierzynski Crede Uribe pretty good lineup... Frank is hurt Frank is not hurt, he has a cramp in his left leg. Do not listen to Harry's dumb ass. The Sox are holding him out of the lineup today as a precautionary measure.
-
They just said the lineups on Mac Jurco and Harry. Frank is not playing, as I said. I didn't hear the rest of the order.
