$2.99 for 4 Bull cards. Not a bad deal.

QUOTE(thomsonmi @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 01:44 PM) I believe Ozzie said that Frank would be back in the lineup tonight. He came out of the game with a leg cramp. I don't think there's any real injury here. Ozzie was joking around during the press conference. Frank will be held out of the lineup tonight. They're gonna be careful with him.

I love my Bears and my Sox. The only problem with the Bears is that they have sucked for quite a while now (not including 2001) so you get pumped for opening day and then 5 weeks later they're already in a big hole. Opposed to the Sox who are always average to above average so they manage to keep your interest for longer, only to dash your dreams in September. -
Why the hell do people think Tadahito Iguchi is going to be an All-Star. They're only going to carry 2 secondbaseman and Roberts and Soriano have that locked up.

QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 01:06 PM) I didnt see last nights game. Why was he taken out? He had a cramp in his left leg, it's not a big deal but he won't play today.

QUOTE(Princess Dye @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 12:02 PM) and Rowand grew up a big Bears fan, no? I think Rowand more or less became a Bears fan when he was drafted by the Sox and J Hood kinda pushed him along in his fandom. Am I the only one that misses the late night talk between Rowand and J Hood, that was some quality radio.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 11:52 AM) I'm looking for Kalapse to collapse pretty soon here. The pressure is, no doubt, unbearable. I took AP Bio, last year. So I know this one, the collapse will have to wait til tomorrow.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 09:15 AM) I had my 2 finals today, 2 down, 2 to go. And then 40 degree weather for 3 weeks. Celsius :headshake

Vazquez last year did own us. 2 starts, 2 wins, 1.13 ERA, .75 WHIP, 11 Ks and .148 BAA. This could be bad.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 11:45 AM) Yeah, most of everyone around me wanted him pulled in the 2nd. The worst was this gem... "Jose Contreras sucks and he has sucked all year, I have no idea why they keep him" Me: "Did you know he leads the league in BAA and his ERA was a hair over 3 before tonights game?" "So?" It was unbelievable some of the ignorant s*** I was hearing around me. One guy was ripping the hell out of Frank when he was on deck, saying that he has no power left and we should just trade him for a bag of ball and sure enough first pitch he hits a bomb to straight away center. It was a thing of beauty. Also when Ozzie got Viz up in the bullpen in the 2nd inning the left field corner gave him a standing ovation. They obviously wanted Jose out, I think that shows how ignorant a lot of them are.
-
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 11:33 AM) Not only did he give a shot of confidence to Jose but he saved our bullpen from getting taxed. That's what I was thinking during the 2nd inning. Contreras had given up 7 runs in the first two innings and everyone around me at the game was yelling to bring in a new pitcher but that would be just stupid. You leave Contreras in there for at least 5 innnings and save your bullpen for the rest of the series. If you yank Contreras after 1 and 1/3 innnings, you're going to have to use atleast 4 pitchers in that game which was already over. Ozzie made a great decision in leaving him in and saving his bullpen.

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 01:36 AM) We've been waiting to fill the wife beater role on our team since Cordero left, Lugo fits the bill. Was it him or Kelvim Escobar who banged their wive's head on the car hood? Same summer, can't recall the difference. It was a car window and he was acquitted.

MESSAGE TO ALL MODS AND ADMINS: Do not change anything about this thread. It is wonderful as is and should stay in its current form.

QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 12:52 AM) Read my post #41 I was addressing ScottPodRulez22's post about moving Uribe out of the lineup. I understand you want to keep him in.

After the display the Pride Crew put on tonight, I am beginning to rethink my stance of loathing the fact that they exist.
-
QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 12:44 AM) Plus we wouldnt have to worry about Uribes offense for the next 2 years and a half. I don't want to move Uribe's bat out of this lineup. I see him as an extremely important player to this team. He hits the ball to all fields, has good power and can run.
-
QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 12:42 AM) Let me ask you a question. Would you care for that 3rd year if this deal gave you that peace of mind that it would make it that much easier to make it to the WS> You think Kenny would have traded all the prospects that he has in the past if he cared for what happend 2 years out? Come on..... Make the Giants eat all of this years contract, and it is basically a two year deal. (Didn't we do almost the same thing with Everett and Alomar two years back?) Yeah and KW also had to throw in an extra prospect or two in order to make that work.
-
QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 12:32 AM) Those defensive #s look really good. He is on pace for just 9 errors for the year. I don't think his defense is the main concern, the guy has won countless gold gloves and after a down year last seaon seems to be back to his old form. The main problem is the contract. The 3 years is a deal breaker for sure, especially in Kenny's mind.

I don't know why I find this picture so damn funny. But I do.

QUOTE(mr_genius @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 12:22 AM) NO way do not Omar on the team... why don't we sign Alomar again while we're at it Why wouldn't you want Omar?
-
You put so much damn work into these trade threads, it's really impressive. The only problem is I tend to disagree with them. Have the Giants talked about trading Visquel at all? I guess I just don't understand why a team would work so hard to sign a player in the off season and then trade him 2 and a half months later.
