QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 08:02 PM) I'd be willing to bet Timo is starting in RF tomorrow night. 5 dollars?

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 07:33 PM) Name a person available for trades this year who won't have a huge f***ing price tag. Frank Thomas

QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 07:53 PM) who else? Aaron Rowand, Joe Crede and Brandon McCarthy for Eric Chavez and Mark Kotsay?
-
QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 07:48 PM) Whoah! I think you're reading wayy into it... I think it means he's gonna get traded. So what you're saying is that the Sox are going to trade Aaron Rowand to Oakland for Eric Chavez?

Obviously Reed Johnson watched Koronka(or whatever the f*** his name is) pitch in San Diego cause he just hit a 3 run bomb 4-0 Blue Jays.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 07:42 PM) I wonder which one of them is the better bunter... Garcia might actually be one of the best bunters on the Sox.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 07:38 PM) Yay...Nothing I can complain about! Hey...you want to know something scary...guess which is higher...Freddie Garcia's career batting average, or Joe Crede's batting average this season. Garcia's got him by 1 point.

QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 12:13 PM) If this is true KW needs to get his ass in on this... New York Post (scroll down): "Met officials believe first base is a likely area to upgrade if they are contenders come July. One name to watch is Milwaukee's Lyle Overbay, who will be coveted by many teams." http://prosportsdaily.com/mlb/brewers/rumors.html Overbay = f***ing huge pricetag

QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 07:25 PM) Yeah, so far... Why is that?!? Brooks doesn't like him? That's right you heard it here first Brooks Boyer does not like Aaron Rowand.

If this is true then the Cubs have the worst advanced scouting in Baseball.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 07:13 PM) Manny has better numbers than Torii and it's not particularly close. It depends on how much stock you take into SBs and Defense.

There's one with Buehrle and an Angel too. Is Roc (I'm calling him that from now on) the only one that's going to hell?
-
No lineups yet.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 06:53 PM) Jesus, what hasnt happened to the Rockies in the last 4 hours? They lost their ROY candidate and their coach. Clint Hurdle has already missed a couple games this season, with his daughter in the hospital. It sounds pretty serious, I hope she gets better.

QUOTE(Credepopsup @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 06:50 PM) Not many outfielders with all star numbers so far. Damon Sheffield and one of Hunter or Crawford would be my choices. Hunter .267avg 7 HR 34 RBI 14 SB Crawford .277avg 5 HR 32 RBI 15 SB After much deliberation, I've made a decision.. ..f*** Hunter. Crawford it is. I saw the same. I was looking through some of the best outfielders in the bigs this year when I noticed that all the best outfielders are in the National League. There are like 5 viable outfielders in the AL. National League Bobby Abreu Carlos Lee Miguel Cabrera Cliff Floyd Brady Clark Adam Dunn Milton Bradley Luis Gonzalez Jason Bay Brian Giles Jim Edmonds J.D. Drew Pat Burrell American League Gary Sheffield Carl Crawford Manny Ramirez Torii Hunter Johnny Damon Ichiro Suzuki Scott Podsednik Vernon Wells

QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 06:03 PM) ESPN.com article on the high-socks/stirrups look. Oh yeah, BMac is mentioned. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=lukas/050602 Very cool article. I can't believe that Page 2 would publish something so indepth and readable.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 06:16 PM) I think this just makes it more likely that Helton gets traded this year. Without Barmes, they're going to probably be worse than they have been. They have a .345 win percentage it's hard to get any worse than that. However I doubt they trade Helton, it's kind of the Roger Clemens effect. You need atleast one great player on the team to get a few fans out to the games.

QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 06:22 PM) f*** torii hunter, i hope i never see him in an all star game. im gonna be laughing when pujols is ahead of dlee in the standings I tried to use no bias and go strickly on who deserves to be there. Derek Lee should start at 1st base for the NL but it's not a huge upset having Albert Pujols start over him considering how Pujols has been arguably the best player in baseball since he broke into the league.

My 2005 All Star Starters as I would pick them as of 06.06.05: American League 1B - Mark Teixeira 2B - Brian Roberts SS - Miguel Tejada 3B - Alex Rodriguez C - Jason Varitek DH - David Ortiz OF - Gary Sheffield OF - Johnny Damon OF - Torii Hunter The third Outfield spot is a tough choice between Torii Hunter, Manny Ramirez, Ichiro Suzuki and Vladimir Guerrero. Vlad Guerrero's numbers are down in all categories, Ichiro is only batting .310 and Torii Hunter is about equal with Manny. Manny has 4 more HRs and 9 more RBIs but Torii Hunter has 11 more SBs and 12 more points on his batting average. Torii Hunter's excellent defense pushes him past Manny. I know that's 7 AL East players but I think they deserve it.
