  1. QUOTE(CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ May 29, 2005 -> 07:07 PM) Better stop all that "glass is half full" talk before your "cool admin by teens" moniker is revoked. That was always disputed anyway.
  2. Shields saved my ass today. I was 1 K down for the week and Shields was my last pitcher going. I needed him to strike out 2 inorder for me to win the week and he came through. He may have given up 2ER but I can look past that. Thank You Scot.

    You should start threads like this in the "Sex, Lies and Politics" Forum. It's for all things not relating to sports. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showforum=1
  4. QUOTE(knightni @ May 29, 2005 -> 05:43 PM) AIGH! The threads lately... :headshake :puke I think the threads have been thought provoking and intelligently written.
  5. You can be critical of your team but this is downright depressing.
  6. QUOTE(jerseysox @ May 29, 2005 -> 03:25 PM) what's the logic? paulie is 0 for 3 today so you want to get rid of him? Morneau is a f***ing stud.
  7. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 29, 2005 -> 01:05 PM) These polls kill me. You're not the only one.
  8. QUOTE(Be Good @ May 29, 2005 -> 11:08 AM) Randa always gets off to fast starts, and then goes into slumps. There's gotta be a much better trading option then Randa Coulda fooled me. Joe Randa's Avg. By month for career: April - .259 May - .281 June - .292 July - .285 Aug - .282 Sept - .316 It looks to me like he starts off very slow, gets real hot going inot June then stays solid for July and August and then finishes ridiculously hot in September.
  9. My DL: Bedard, Frank, Loretta, Od. Perez, K-Rod. It's like a f***ing All-star team.
  10. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ May 29, 2005 -> 10:13 AM) With Frank, Konerko, and AJ we just might have the 3 slowest men in baseball in our lineup With Uribe 9th Podsednik 1st and Iguchi 2nd we might just have the fastest bottom to top of the order in baseball in our lineup.
  11. You're gonna start seeing midgets driving in NASCAR just like a jockey. Book it.
  12. QUOTE(Al Lopez's Ghost @ May 29, 2005 -> 07:15 AM) Yeah, that's us, always hyping guys who don't pan out. This is Frank f***ing Thomas. Get ready for one long ass standing ovation. He's gonna be so f***ing pumped at the plate in his first plate appearance, he'll probably get a 2 minute ovation, one of the loudest you've ever heard. 1st pitch ball outside 2nd pitch fastball outside corner Frank watches it to the glove 3rd pitch fastball over the plate Frank swings and misses with a giant swing (Frank Calms down) 4th pitch breaking ball low off the outside corner at the knees 5th pitch he trys to bust Frank inside with a fastball at the belt but Frank clears the hips and hurts it. Out to left field. Standing Ovation. Curtain Call.
  13. QUOTE(DePloderer @ May 29, 2005 -> 05:49 AM) Have you got a spare ticket Kalapse? Oh and a flight ticket would help also. And some accomodation, that would be nice. And transport would be cool. Let me know. Sorry dude, doesn't look like I'm gonna be able to get you in here from London.
  14. QUOTE(kman @ May 28, 2005 -> 01:18 PM) tight sig kolapse. Damn straight.
  15. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ May 28, 2005 -> 01:12 PM) Lineups? It's still pretty early for there to be lineups, wait about another hour or so.
  16. QUOTE(dmbjeff @ May 28, 2005 -> 12:51 PM) Their performance lately on a 10 game road trip is 4-4. I will take .500 ball out of the guys on a roadtrip anytime. No need to worry about that, the bats should wake up soon, I only worry about the Twinkies, as of today only 4 games back of the best team in baseball, I wish they would falter a bit. The Sox are 9-9 in their last 18. They're slipping.
  17. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 28, 2005 -> 12:57 PM) Um, what happened? Go to Around the Horn and check out the first thread.
  18. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 28, 2005 -> 12:31 PM) Upset about a Cubs trade? Why? My second team is the Giants. I was looking forward to seeing Aardsma but now he's gone.
  19. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 28, 2005 -> 12:05 PM) I think this obviously signals that Prior is out for the season. They would't have acquired a starter with MLB experience like Jerome Williams if he wasn't. QUOTE(Nokona @ May 28, 2005 -> 12:05 PM) Anyone else think that this was made because Prior will be out for possibly the season? Maybe
  20. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 28, 2005 -> 11:51 AM) Shouldn't this be in the LaTroy thread? Garland will take this tonight. No, it shouldn't, I'm still upset leave me alone.
  21. This is the most MVP baseballish trade the Cubs have pulled off yet. Jerome Williams and Aardasma both have kind of low ratings because they're young and Latroy Hawkins has a decent rating because he's a veteran. You trade the s***ty older Vet. for the two you minor league studs. It's good video game strategy.
