  1. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ May 24, 2005 -> 04:19 PM) Agreed completely. No one is accusing Jermaine Dye of steroids, so why throw accusations towards Victor? Because Dye is old, injury prone and his numbers have been sliding. Victor Martinez is a 26 year old All-Star who hit .283 last year with 23 HRs and 108 RBI, it's not usual for players like that to just drop off like he has. I personally do not think he was on steroids.
  2. I'll be there. I got those tickets before the season started as part of my Minnie Plan. b****en.
  3. QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ May 24, 2005 -> 05:11 PM) i hope a big fude happens like at the detroit and indiana game and players on each team get suspended for thes season I personally don't want to see players go into the stands and fight fans, but hey that's just me.
  4. What about Eric Byrnes from the A's? I know that they were shopping him in the offseason. Couldn't he be a possibility.
  5. I hit two homers with Rogo. This game is hard as hell.
  6. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 23, 2005 -> 05:21 PM) Two starting pitchers that should fair well this week are Chris Capuano of the Brewers and Bruce chen of the Orioles. Capuano's line from tonight's start: IP H R ER BB K HR Season ERA 8.1 3 1 0 2 6 0 3.09 Told you Capuano would own.

  8. QUOTE(qwerty @ May 23, 2005 -> 03:55 PM) I f***ing love west coast games that start at nine. I can do everything else i wanted to do for the day then kick back and relax for the sox game. I agree entirely. We got 4 9:05 games in a row. It's a beautiful thing.
  9. According to Google Maps it takes about 14 hours and 30 mins to cover the 1,004 miles between Chicago and Denver. http://maps.google.com/maps?q=chicago+to+d...29.847740&hl=en
  10. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ May 23, 2005 -> 01:04 PM) My brother (the infamous Thomsonmi) and I will be there. If you've never been to Coors Field, its a hell of a place. Its even got a Microbrewery! Not to mention Rocky Mountain Oysters. Seriously.
  11. Hell yeah. It was only a matter of time.
  12. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ May 23, 2005 -> 03:15 PM) Didn't his name used to be Johan, but he changed it because of the other Johan? IIRC thats what BBTN said. His name was Johan when he came into the league but it turned out that he was using someone elses birth certificate. He was also like 2 years older than they thought.
  13. QUOTE(shagar69 @ May 23, 2005 -> 03:06 PM) who the f*** is santana? A rookie.
  14. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 23, 2005 -> 01:09 PM) Isnt K-Rod hurt right now? Last I heard he was Day to Day K-Rod is still day to day but in his absence Scott Shields has actually been more effective than K-Rod in the Closer's role.
  15. QUOTE(qwerty @ May 22, 2005 -> 09:07 PM) How so? There are not many ''franchise players'' and he is not one of them. I shouldn't have said Franchise Player, I meant more of a real good player on a really good team. To where his offensive production would translate to success or falure for his team.
  16. QUOTE(redandwhite @ May 22, 2005 -> 09:00 PM) I am convinced that Sweeney is the better player, so I believe Anderson should be made available. What the White Sox do with him is obviously not my decision but if it involved a stop gap like Overbay I would be satisfied. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ May 22, 2005 -> 09:03 PM) OK, I'll play along Why trade your 2nd best OF prospect, and your #3 prospect overall, for a STOP GAP 1Bman, when you have a perfectly capable STOP GAP 1Bman already on your roster in Ross Gload? Lyle Overbay is not a stop gap firstbaseman, he is a franchise player. Oh yeah, the Brewers do not want any position players they want pitching.
  17. QUOTE(redandwhite @ May 22, 2005 -> 08:49 PM) Overbay might cost quite a bit, but I don't really think he would cost an astronomical amount like some of you seem to believe. Anderson for sure would be enough to land him in my opinion. The Brewers seem to make the most of their bigtime trades. IE: Sexson, it also looks like the Kolb trade is going to work out in the Brewers favor as well. Overbay would cost a s*** load, never doubt the Brewers when it comes to that.
  18. QUOTE(qwerty @ May 22, 2005 -> 08:42 PM) Did the brewers rape arizona or what? That is always funny to think about. Junior Spivey, Craig Counsell, Lyle Overbay, Chad Moeller, Chris Capuano and Jorge De La Rosa. The Brewers got they're current 1Bman, 2Bman, C, SP and RP from the D-Backs in the Richie Sexson trade. One of the best trades ever. And I can honestly say I loved the trade for the Brewers when they made it.
  19. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 22, 2005 -> 08:40 PM) He has a career 129 OPS+. He must be doing something right... He's batting .387 Vs. Lefties this season and only .206 against righties. He's going completely against his career numbers.
  20. I just want to put one thing to rest right now before it gets out of control. Erubiel Durazo is not a first baseman. He has played hardly any first base for the A's and for good reason. He's bad, he's really bad. You do not want a guy like Durazo at 1B for you, he's a huge liability.
  21. QUOTE(redandwhite @ May 22, 2005 -> 08:29 PM) To be honest, I would love to see Lyle Overbay in either a White Sox or Red Sox uniform. His swing in Fenway would be to die for, and the same can be said for US Cellular. With Prince Fielder on the rise, he could very well be expendable. He's a perfect fit. Lyle Overbay would be awesome at the Cell. He's stellar defensively, has a high OBP and hits a s*** load of doubles which are now starting to turn into HRs, and at the cell his HR numbers would explode. It would take a lot to get him, but there is a chance he could be had.
  22. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 22, 2005 -> 04:35 PM) Good thing Lew Ford doesn't get to bat til the 11th. He'll win it next inning. I told he'd win it in the 11th. A leadoff triple is a game winning hit for sure.
