Yeah he'll be a great fillin for Nomar, gotta love that .246 career avg. In all honesty all they did was replace Neifi perez with Neifi Perez here. They're both good defensive infielders that can't hit.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 17, 2005 -> 03:05 PM) In terms of Anderson callups, let's also not forget that he's only had about 50 or so at bats total at AAA. I don't like the idea of trading him, but I like the idea of bringing him up even less. 137 Atbats in AAA.

I will be back in 20 minutes to continue this conversation. Let's just hope it dies by then.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 17, 2005 -> 02:36 PM) Sometimes I think you are obsessed with strikeouts and not concerned enough with other aspects of hitting. If we brought Anderson up and he continued to hit over 300, with the same type of power numbers that he is showing at AAA, and kept the same strikeout ratio, would that be an improvement over our current center fielder? I say yes. Chances are great that Anderson would not continue to hit over .300 on the Major league level. Just look at that outfield prospect we had in our system last year Jeremy reed who had a .327 career minor league avg. and is now hitting .252 for the Mariners. Strikeouts show that he is still adjusting to the improved pitching that he is now facing in AAA compared to what he faced in AA.

QUOTE(C_LEE45 @ May 17, 2005 -> 02:35 PM) i thought Pods played center why is he in right then? CAUSE rowand would be better ,just like Abreu would be better than rowand,AND yes Abreu WILL be traded this year you watch, and ill see you posting the samething after this weekend when we dont score no runs and lose to the sorry f***ing cubs, just because people dont post 1000 times they dont know s*** well maybe GET A LIFE ,and big deal leave Abreu in right but what iam saying this teams need an impact player like him,so when the GREAT DYE AND TIMO go 1-12 this weekend dont cry!!!!!!! :finger Pods is in left field not right. Abreu is a better right fielder than Rowand. Show me anything that says Abreu will be traded this year other than just in your head. I still don't think you know who Abreu is.

QUOTE(JimH @ May 17, 2005 -> 02:25 PM) Damn fine post. Knowledge is power Sometimes I just feel like a lot of people on this board just don't know s*** about the Sox and baseball in general.

What's everyones obsession with trading our young minor leaguers for 5-tool major league All-Stars. Has anyone heard anything at all from any credible source that would leave you to believe that the Phillies are willing to trade Bobby Abreu, no, I didn't think so. And you're saying that if we're not going to bring up the 23 year old outfielder who now has a total of 137 career AAA atbats and 39 strikeouts right now we should trade him. Let him get some atbats at AAA and cutdown on the strikeouts, and yes he could be worse than Dye and Timo. Oh ya, do you even know who Bobby Abreu is cause he plays right field so why would you move Rowand to right if you got him. You obviously have no ideo who he is.

QUOTE(robinventura23 @ May 17, 2005 -> 09:34 AM) 3-game losing streak, then 8-game winning streak. 3-game losing streak, then 8-game winning streak. Let's hope the trend continues. Hey Kevin Mench, :finger 8-game winning streak, then 3-game winning streak, then 8-game winning streak, then 2-game losing streak, then 3-game winning streak, then 3-games losing streak. -
Rescue Me rocks, Denis Leary is f***ing awesome. period.

El Duque had that sick slider going early in the count and he gets ahead 0-2 then suddenly he's throwing tailing sliders 2 feet off the plate and big sweeping curves off the corners. He refuses to throw anything in the strikezone with 2 strikes.

They're blacked out in Chicago and Texas in order to increase ratings for the local stations in said cities.

QUOTE(Cali @ May 16, 2005 -> 06:54 PM) And the f***ing with of Scrubs continues :headshake http://www.thefutoncritic.com/cgi/pr.cgi?id=20050516nbc01 Scrubs will be on Sunday nights at 12:47 ET. Book it. They love throwing Scrubs into time slots where they'll get no ratings, I don't know why. They should just leave it at Tuesday's at 8:30 back to back with The Office which is the s***.

Politte is fine. He just hasn't pitched in 4 games, nothing to freak out about. he pitched a scorless inning on the 11th and he pitched 1.1 innings on the 9th. He hadent pitched since the 4th before he pitched on the 9th so this is nothing new. Politte goes entire series without pitching. Many will say no because his career stats were less than spectacular but for what he did for the game of baseball in the time he played I believe he should be in the HOF. You can't always go by career stats to decide if someone belongs or not, sometimes you have to go beyond that and take a look at the lasting impression someone makes on the game and there is no doubt that Roger Maris did that. Oh Ya, 61* is a great movie.

Looks good. Great shot of Crede.

Jermaine Dye will be going up against: Chan Ho Park, Pedro Astacio, Ryan Drese. Richard Hidalgo will be going up against: Orlando Hernandez, Jon Garland, Mark Buerhle. I'm putting my money on Dye.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 16, 2005 -> 02:32 PM) Amen on House and Fox does like to cancel the shows I like. House is probably my favorite new show of the season. To go along with my other favorites like 24, the Shield and of course Family Guy, King of the Hill, Simpsons, ER, Law and ORder and CSI. The last group I don't follow near as much although I finally started dvr'ing ER again (after not watching it in a year or two). I watch all those same shows except the Simpsons and King of the Hill. The Simpsons just suck right now, it's not funny to me. House is in my top three with Arrested Developement and 24. The guy who plays House is awesome, I love his sarcastic humor. The cases on House are far more interesting than any other hospital drama IMO.

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ May 16, 2005 -> 02:39 PM) Why did they post his e-mail? I hope it's a "public" one and not one he uses to talk with his friends and family with. I don't get it He originally only got emails from people in Venezuela on that email address so I'd assume that it was the email that he gave out to people in his home country. Some columnist other than Morrissey recently published this email address in an American media source and now he's getting tons of emails from America as well. He said that he didn't mind all the extra emails but that he prefers to get the emails in Spanish.
-
He doesn't read english very well so he needs his sons and Joey Cora to help him read emails that are writtin in english.

Thank god Arrested Developement is comming back it is one of the best shows on TV and should never have been ended so abruptly to begin with. One show that I love is Scrubs. I've been watching it since the first episode and can't get enough of it. However I don't know how next season is going to work out with Elliot moving to a new Hospital. (Scrubs Season 1 comes out on DVD tomorrow f***ing awesome). I'm also glad to see that Fox is bringing back House, I think it's a great show and I was worried it would be cancelled, because it's Fox and they like cancelling the shows I love.
