  4. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ May 13, 2005 -> 09:36 PM) Did anyone else feel confident down 3-0 that we were going to win this game? For some reason I never had a doubt in this one. That's the way I've felt all season.
  5. He'll call it a strike if it's 3 inches off the plate but if you put it right over the outside corner he calls it a ball.
  6. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ May 13, 2005 -> 05:00 PM) Sox All-Stars: Garland Hernandez Iguchi Hermanson MAYBE Podsednik Iguchi is not an All Star over Soriano or Roberts. The stats don't lie.

  8. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ May 13, 2005 -> 03:02 PM) OMFG, how does Roberts have 10 homers?! I'd realized he had eclipsed his career mark in April, but jeebus, I figured he would not have 10 by now. That guy is just f***in smokin hot. Anyways, if we want all-stars from the Sox...how about the entire rotation? - Contreras + Hermanson
  9. Top American League 2nd Basemen Name Avg HR RBI Runs SB Brian Roberts .381 10 30 30 12 Alfonso Soriano .285 10 24 27 5 Tadahito Iguchi .328 2 15 16 7 Chone Figgins .268 2 15 19 12 I'm pretty sure Roberts and Soriano have second base covered. Soriano has 8 more HRs, 9 more RBIs and 11 more runs than Iguchi. Iguchi has 40 points higher on his Avg and 2 more stolen bases + better defense.

    If you want to know the truth behind P.E.T.A. and their terrorist connections. Check out Penn & Teller Bulls***, they did an episode on P.E.T.A. that was just scary. Penn & Teller, Bulls***, P.E.T.A.
  11. That was a useless interview. Rosenthal refused to answer any question and instead just acted all buddy buddy with Dan Patrick. If he's not going to answer any questions why even do the interview?
  12. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 12, 2005 -> 04:04 PM) Toca Valido and Yofu NO, not Tetsu Yofu!
  13. 2001- 2.66 era. (Long Relief/Spot Starter) 2002- 1.85 era. (Middle Relief/Setup Man) 2003- 2.48 era. (Setup Man) 2004- 3.69 era. (Closer) 9 BLSV out of 45 Opp. 2005- 4.05 era. (Closer) 4 BLSV out of 10 Opp. He's a great Setup Man but has had his struggles at closer.
  14. Dotel has been horrible thus far this season. He's already blown 4 saves and has a 4.05 ERA. He is extremely shaky and unreliable.
  15. I currently have Eric Chavez on my fantasy team and he sucks ass and the thing that scares me about Chavez is the lineup around him which is horrible so any deal that you can get decent value for him is good. I also have Loretta who has been quite disappointing thus far this season. Comming into today he was batting .275 with 0 HR's however he did go 5 for 6 today and boosted his BA to .299. Loretta has shown no power however he does have 6 stolen bases this season which is 3 away from his career high which has been a nice surprise. With Loretta you know you'll get a good average and a good amount of runs. Loretta >>> Chavez (overall) Matsui is an interesting case, a lot people felt this would be the year that Matsui starts hitting for power but so far this season he really hasn't shown it seeing how he only has 3 HR plus a .233 avg. to boot. He has pretty much sucked so far this season. You should expect him to catch fire some time soon and begin his climb closer to his home run total from last year of 31. Also his avg. should end up around .280 and he will pick up 100 RBIs. So Matsui this year will probably end up giving you .280, 30+ HR, 100+ RBI, 90 runs and 1 SB. Rollins' only real asset is his SBs, he has been terribly inconsistent over his career. He never had a real high avg before last year when he batted .289 and scored 119 runs which was the first time he has ever had 100+ runs in a given year. Rollins isn't going to hit many HRs look for about 15 this season. So Rollins this year will probably end up giving you .265, 15 HR, 65 RBI, 90 runs and 35+ SBs. Matsui >>> Rollins (avg, HR, RBI) Matsui = Rollins (runs) Rollins >>>>> Matsui (SB) So in the end Chavez is worthless, Loretta is very good and Matsui is better than Rollins at everything except SBs. My Opinion: Make the trade.
  16. Who says KW and others don't read Soxtalk? Funny how things work out, isn't it?
  17. No major league team is going to trade a good SP and a good RP pitcher for a 45 year old Cuban pitcher with poor accuracy and an $8.5 Mil contract. Plus, why would you want to break up a starting rotation that currently has an ERA hovering around 3.00? I say we keep this 25 and 9 team together.
  18. Isn't there a pretty good chance that Manny Ramirez would play for team USA seeing how he is now a US citizen and actually grew up in New York.
  19. Dustin Hermanson is the f***ing man. Plain and simple THE f***ING MAN!
