Some claimed the Confederate flag was racist because it depicted a time in history where people in the south had slaves and some claimed that the confederate flag was a part of Southern history that they used tht flag for a long time and it was somewhat representative of the south in general. South Parks ability to fuse this nationally publicised story into their small town is something that the Simpsons failed to do. It shows that Trey and Matt are great but Groening and his crew have a trouble changing with the times.
