  1. I would take Porcello over Floyd, Peavy or Stewart. Danks has shown he pisses his pants against good teams this year.
  2. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 12, 2011 -> 05:26 PM) The agent for Steelers RT Willie Colon revealed Monday that his client has a torn triceps muscle and is likely to miss the rest of the season. Colon is scheduled for surgery on Tuesday morning. The Bears tried like hell to get this guy. I bet he wishes he was a Bear now.
  3. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 12, 2011 -> 05:17 PM) I've never understood the players association's objection. Theoretically, slotting would free up more money for players who are in the union. Also, it would limit teams like Boston and the Yankees from lining up great prospects which should open up jobs on their teams, and they pay higher wages. Trading picks should also be allowed. I agree the players union should have nothing to do with it.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 12, 2011 -> 12:18 PM) You really aren't trying to say that the starting pitching is the reason we are out of the race are you? Hitting has been a major problem, but so is starting pitching last 2 months when needing big wins they have not got the job done.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 12, 2011 -> 12:10 PM) His numbers would have him in the pen or AAA with the pitching that we have. This great pitching you say is how many games back and a .500 team not so great Porcello would be the 4th starter easy on the Sox. IMO.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 12, 2011 -> 12:05 PM) Rick Porcello also wouldn't be in our rotation right now. Yes he would.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 12, 2011 -> 11:49 AM) There's been a major change in philosophy since that draft though. I hope it gets better because quite frankly it can't get much worse. Sox are going to have to spend in round 1 and get best player available regardless of cost. If they want to improve the farm system, we all know after round 1 they did not spend anything the last 2 years. I do not like the major change in philosophy in that regard!
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 12, 2011 -> 11:27 AM) Not true, of late, it seems the first round pick is where the Sox try to get the best overall talent and then work out a unique contract. After the first round...no, it doesn't matter. I disagree the year the Tigers took Porcello the Sox could of drafted him and did not want to pay what he wanted is one example. Walker to me was a major reach.
  9. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Sep 12, 2011 -> 11:03 AM) It's clear that even on Sept 2 that the top nine picks were already locked down by Houston, Baltimore, KC, Minnesota, Seattle, San Diego, Pittsburgh, Oakland and Washington. It wasn't going to be possible for the White Sox to win less games than those teams at that point in the season. Is the difference between the #10 overall pick (our lowest conceivable win total at that point) and the #18 overall pick (our highest conceivable finish is 13th best record) really that significant? No, because Sox will draft the cheapest, safest, easiest signable pick in round 1.
  10. Hope Stewart has a good start to build on the 1 hitter!
  11. Can they do .............can they do it...............1 time dam.
  12. 4 times they have left the bases loaded today that in itself is very hard to do pathectic! Stranding 15 guys in the process.
  13. Why let Dunn hit OG do something right!
  14. QUOTE (God Loves The Infantry @ Sep 10, 2011 -> 05:59 PM) Alexei Ramirez has turned out to be a huge loser lately. Between his wimpy attempts at fielding throws to second or his pathetic at-bats with runners in scoring position, I'm not really sure anymore that this guy is untouchable. Then again, this team has so many losers, Alexei's mediocrity seems minor. Ugh. AR never has been untouchable to me.
  15. This team blows with bases loaded and less than 2 outs!
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 9, 2011 -> 08:47 PM) Looks like Mark's ready for the offseason. Also a new team to me.
  17. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Sep 9, 2011 -> 10:15 AM) MB56 farewell tour. I think so the time has come.
  18. QUOTE (Cali @ Sep 9, 2011 -> 02:57 PM) Ewwwww You won't see the media report much about it though...........If it was the Cell it would be everywhere.
  19. Alexander Karpovtsev is the guy Pat Foley ripped on air at the time as the worst Blackhawk teammate ever!
