QUOTE (kev211 @ Jan 19, 2013 -> 01:15 AM) I've already said he lied. He tailored the information to make it look like he met her. But I'm sure everyone in this thread is an angel and has never told a lie in their life. This is alot more than a little white lie! -

Te'o knew the girlfriend was fake LONG before he told anyone and was enjoying all the publicity. The lad has serious issues, and this whole thing is gonna cost him dearly. The fact he, Brian Kelley & the school won't answer questions speaks volumes about Te'os " innocence " in all this. -
Bears hired Mel Tucker as defensive coordinator. The Chicago Tribune reported Friday evening that the Bears would interview Raheem Morris for the position on Saturday, but that meeting apparently won't happen. Tucker will have a big role with the Bears, as defensive boss under offensive-minded head coach Marc Trestman. He'll also oversee the strength of the Bears' roster. Tucker runs a 4-3, Cover-2 style defense, easing the transition from Lovie Smith. Tucker spent the past four years running the Jaguars defense but wasn't expected to return following the hiring of Gus Bradley. Per Rotoworld

QUOTE (The Critic @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 02:59 AM) Not sure if I like this or not. I think the "heel commentator" thing is kind of played out, but I guess this extends the angle without doing the main reveal. To me it seems like they still don't know who they want the leader to be. Still, as long as it's not Hogan, Bischoff or Jarrett.... Taz cannot even wrestle anymore does not make any sense. -

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jan 17, 2013 -> 07:41 PM) @RapSheet #Cardinals met with Bruce Arians today. He left with a great feeling. He was rewarded with an offer. Source says he'll be the team's HC. ESPN's Adam Schefter confirms the Cardinals have hired Bruce Arians as their head coach. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport had the scoop first that the team had offered Arians the job, while Schefter confirmed the hire minutes after. Schefter says it's a four-year deal for Arians with a team option for a fifth year. As mentioned in the previous post, Arians went 9-3 as interim head coach for the Colts this past season while subbing in for Chuck Pagano. The offensive philosophy under Arians shouldn't change much from the one Ken Whisenhunt ran. They are both pass-first coaches, but Arians fancies himself with a more vertical attack. It remains to be seen who will coordinate the defense, but word is that Arians wants to replace Ray Horton with Todd Bowles.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 17, 2013 -> 10:44 AM) It makes perfect sense. He is familiar with Kiffin just like he was close with Lovie. He probably doesn't know Trestman, and would be a lame duck with one year left on his deal. He was far from lame duck. According to a source with knowledge of the situation, the Bears offered Marinelli a one-year extension with hopes of enticing him to remain and guide the defense. He already was signed through 2013. Breaking News: reports are surfacing that Manti Te'o himself is actually indeed a hoax too as he was nowhere to be found during the BCS national championship game. -
May change the way Bears look at roster moves on defensive side this spring!

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 17, 2013 -> 10:33 AM) Why is it not a smart decision? He probably doesn't need the money. Why work someplace you don't want to work if you don't have to? Seems to me, if he wouldn't be happy, or would be happier elsewhere, its a very smart decision. If RM did not like the job fine, but that is not the case it is because he is loyal to Lovie only reason he is gone. Going from D-Cor to linebacker coach to be Kiffin's lap boy makes no sense. If he is happy fine by me, If he was not happy glad he is gone!
-
QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 17, 2013 -> 10:26 AM) Score reporting that it's official, Marinelli is out. edit: I'd like Hoch. Not a smart decision by RM................Lovie is gone he needs to get over it!

New Bears coach Marc Trestman recruited Tim Tebow to North Carolina State in 2006 and tutored Tebow in preparation for the 2010 Senior Bowl. "I believe in the right environment Tim Tebow will figure this out," Trestman said in 2010. "He doesn’t have explosive arm strength, but he has more than adequate arm strength to throw the ball in the NFL and make all the throws. ... If you’re a coach and you love coaching quarterbacks, you’d love the opportunity to develop Tim Tebow." The Jets are expected to release Tebow after the Super Bowl, so Trestman should have an opportunity to sign him in March. Per Rotoworld
