  1. That was a nice ending to the game. Bullpen came up, threw strikes and had people swinging and missing. Great stuff. Great win.
  2. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Apr 14, 2015 -> 08:42 PM) The errors are WAY more concerning than the base running. CLEAN IT UP Base running can be blamed on being too aggressive. The errors are a lack of execution. Major league teams need to make the routine plays.
  3. Christ Alexei throw the ball, hose the f***ing ball over there.
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 12, 2015 -> 02:34 PM) Well, Hawk and Stoney are acting like teams have figured out Micah and he can't hit a high pitch and that's all he's gonna get in his career. Again, why can't our advance scouts do as good a job as other teams? The balls we hit are always right at defenders. Let me make it real simple. A pitcher throws a ball on a downward plane. The bat comes in to make contact at a similar ratio. So if you throw a ball chest high, how hard is it to get the correct plane to make solid contact with said pitch. There are some guys who can absolutely murder a high pitch. Most guys just get under it and pop the ball up. You want you fast guys hitting line drives or keeping the ball on the ground. You dont want them wasting their speed by putting the ball into the air a lot. Which will happen at a higher ratio when you attempt to hit high pitches.
  5. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 12, 2015 -> 02:18 PM) How come Micah can't hit a high pitch? Hawk and Stoney seem insistent he has to lay off it. Does this mean Micah is gonna be another bust? How did you take the fact that a speedster should lay off high pitches as an indicator of being a bust. I want to connect the dots on this thought process.
  6. Flowers will wind up losing his job sooner than later.
  7. That has to be the contact play for him to go home. If he went on his own then terrible.
  8. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Apr 12, 2015 -> 01:41 PM) can someone who has a more experience than high school baseball explain, realistically, how a hitter is supposed to adjust when seeing a 90 MPH fastball followed up by a 97 MPH fastball? that just seems like a tall order. especially if the pitch looks exactly the same leaving his hand. Its not really fair. I face a kid who pitched for the U of I and he was a lefty throwing anywhere from 82 to 85 but he had probably the best changeup I had ever seen. Same exact motion, same arm angle. He would add and subtract velocity and just ate our lineup up. I can't imagine something doing the same thing with 90 to 98. He is all arms and legs. He can't be a very comfortable AB.
  9. Very nice. Put the ball in play and things happen.
  10. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Apr 10, 2015 -> 06:13 PM) Can someone describe what happened?
  11. QUOTE (daggins @ Apr 10, 2015 -> 06:06 PM) But hey, who gives a crap about the first four games? Well luckily we are great against our division. So I am not worried.
  12. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 10, 2015 -> 06:04 PM) At least the pressure is off this lousy team. At 0-4 and with modern society having a short attention span, most everybody will have given up on this team after the ninth inning today. So the players can relax and maybe score some runs and win some games. The non zealot fan might pay attention again if we ever get four or five over .500. Til then relax White Sox cause nobody cares. You know what would fix this team.
  13. This was a team that couldn't score a run against the Tigers until the last game of their series. It was also a pitching staff that gave up runs in droves. All fixed by a trip to the southside.
  14. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 10, 2015 -> 05:59 PM) You got to admit, the beards don't look good when a team is this bad (so far). At least admit that. I don't particularly like Robin, but this is a cliche you are aware. We had the fiery, crazy Ozzie and people wanted him gone. Now we have the laid back Robin and we're going to hear more and more about how we need fire. I didn't want to disagree with the offseason euphoria, but I did dispress my displeasure at the Melky acquisition and the LaRoche signing scared me because he's old by today's standards. Not giving up, but I agree with those fans who just booed that pathetic throw by Flowers. Did a man with a beard scare you at some point in your life. You seem to have this odd thing with beards.
  15. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 10, 2015 -> 05:58 PM) Torii Hunter is what, 40? And stealing bases on us? Its Tyler flowers. Unless you have a cane or a walker there is an implied green light to go.
  16. Chicago is the greatest golfing city in the world. LOL
  17. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Apr 10, 2015 -> 05:29 PM) 1 hit...I mean...really, it could easily be 0 hits...how is this possible? You come in, your home opener for the season...and you manage enough effort for 1 fkin hit? The post game will have a lot of hat tipping. He threw his fastball inside, not over the plate belt high like they did in batting practice. Their pitcher stepped off the plate and picked off our runner very sneaky of him. They have a lot hitters that sox killers. blah blah blah
  18. When you see the ESPN highlights tonight. It will be like Clayton Kershaw faced us.
  19. Thank you stupid Twins runner for the xmas gift.
  20. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Apr 10, 2015 -> 05:16 PM) will we hit 2 mil in attendance this year? A slow start will kill that.
  21. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Apr 10, 2015 -> 05:05 PM) Amazing..the Twins were outscored 22-1 against Detroit. (TWENTY TWO to ONE)....and this Off Season champion team can't scratch more than a hit. At some point we need to change the way we run spring trainings. Either relegate more of the minor leaguers to minor league games and get more time for the vets. The team does not look ready. Its almost like this is still spring training and we are waiting for guys with numbers that start in the 80s to roll out of the dugout for their work.
  22. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 10, 2015 -> 04:34 PM) I'm starting to think our advanced scouts suck. We are a pathetic baseball team through five innings of Friday. Sox better string some runs together cause it looks like Noesi is about done for today meaning bullpen is a coming. I"m out. Have to go do something. Sox suck (so far). Get it together WHITE SOX! Please don't blast me for my observation about the beards, but they look very fricking stupid on winless ballplayers. Game not over yet. RALLY time White Sox. Your obsession with facial hair is sad. Get over it.
