  1. Attacking the source is something that is a long term goal. To impact an area you would need community buy in and education and opportunity. That will take at the minimum a generation to see true impact. This should definitely happen, however you still need to go after the current people who are commiting the current violent crimes. I dont think you can convince a current gang member who is making money on drug trafficking and violence that the job over at McDonalds even if it pays 15 dollars an hour is a valid recourse. They were indoctrinated into this gang lifestyle and have bought in. Adolescents that are given that type of money and power over everyone is a hard formula to give up. Typically its personal tragedy that will change that outcome. The next generation needs to be worked on now, while they are too young to get caught up in this. Because its harder to remove yourself from the equation when you get older.
  2. Kim Foxx and Judge Evans have cleared the way for this to occur. If they wanted to be lenient with non-violent crime so be it. But crimes that involve a gun should be dealt with with strict punishments. They also need to trace the guns back to how they obtained it and go after that pipeline as well. The other problem with this is the age of offenders. People under the age of 18 are commiting a lot of these crimes and no one has the stomach to take action as they are just kids being kids and they will grow out of it. Its a revolving door of you commit the crime, get caught, then you are out committing it while you are on bond. And why does this happen, no consequences. Its a free for all.
  3. Same thing as last year. We feasted on bad teams and didn't do well against good ones. I thought that when we made our additions this year it would change that tune.
  4. There is zero chance TLR doesnt start Keuchel in one of the first games. He has playoff experience. He will bathe in his former stats and watch in confusion when he gives it up like has this year.
  5. I for one believe things that come from the Twitterverse. Isn't that where all facts come from.
  6. Look at the lineup. TLR punted on today's game. The pitching was more than enough to win this. He had the Sunday squad flexing their muscles. The fact that they got shut down is not difficult to see.
  7. Well he will say the same as last year. Or he will use the line of Robert, Eloy, and Grandal as being our "acquisitions".
  8. Eloy Jimenez Luis Robert Yasmani Grandal And that will be it. They can sell it as just as good as a trade without JR having to part with money.
  9. In other news ronn would trade Abreu for Carson Fulmer and Fulmers unconditional release 10 minutes later.
  10. Most people in Chicago couldn't pick him out of a lineup unless he was wearing a uniform that had his name on the back. He was a cult hero for a few months this season. He hasn't ascended to legend status. He will go back home and will disappear into nothingness. Its a shame but its reality.
  11. Wisconsin has a lot of talent overall. Their travel organizations do a great job in preparing the kids. They have amazing facilities and programs up in Wisconsin.
  12. Bob is an instrument to the front office. He is used either for misinformation or to negotiate. The only thing he is told is something that JR wants out there.
  13. They are not making big moves. Look for aging vets on their last leg because TLR remembers him or guys off the scrap heap
  14. There is zero chance the white sox take on salary. JR is still on this planet. It's either prospects on the way out for things that don't fiscally cost us a lot. Or mediocre players who make TLR tingle in the right place.
  15. There is zero chance they upgrade. JR spent money on a FA for RF. Unless Eaton is out for the season he is going to be out there. We trotted out a terrible OF into the playoffs last year. He will do the same this year.
  16. Its a foot. Its not really going to change those angles all that much. I just think allowing breaking pitches to get one more foot to eat is going to have the exact opposite effect.
  17. Funny you should say reliever risk. The shape of his slider reminds me of a former white sox reliever. Luis Vizcaino
  18. Harold the other thing that gets me. Kumar's big pitch is his slider. It has more drop than lateral movement. I don't know how that's going to play in the majors. He throws it just out of the zone and I see batter after batter chase it. MLB hitters have a much more discerning eye than College hitters.
  19. Kumar Rocker was sloppy tonight against Arkansas in the SEC Tourney. He got chased with a high pitch count in the 4th inning after giving up 4. I see him and I see Carson Fulmer. Great stuff to get college hitters out. Not enough control to make the next leap.
  20. I went to Costco with my wife. I saw about 4 people without their masks. I turned to my wife as we are both wearing masks and are both vaccinated. I bet you that they are not vaccinated is what she said to me. Then two minutes later one of them told an older lady that she was a sheep and there is no virus. Case closed.
