  1. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 09:15 AM) The problem is that MacDougal's velocity is also way down, he's throwing 93, 94 maybe 95. But I don't trust him to be much better than Jenks at this point, having watched his entire career in KC. I think he'll convert around 7 or 7.5 Save Opportunities out of ten, but we can't afford to give up an extra 4-5 games this season....because the best closers are all at 85-95% conversion rates. You realize that Coop was on late last year on the Mike North radio show, saying that they are trying to get MacDougal to be more in the strikezone and would rather have him in the zone at 94-95 than out of it for most of the AB at 97. With him its more of concentrating on throwing strikes than all of a sudden his arm is dead. MacDougals ball moves all over the place. If he throws strikes, even at 94-95 its hard to hit. Velocity doesnt equal success. Bobby needs the velocity because his control isnt great, and his fastball doesnt move that much. But he can get by in the middle 90s with this offspeed stuff. Koch whom you keep comparing him to, had no control what so ever and didnt have any of the secondary pitches that Bobby has. Bobby needs to get his fat ass throwing hard again, thats not a secret. But all of the bullpen guys, need to throw strikes. So if they can throw lots of strikes a few mph's off their top velocity its a hell of a lot better than if they are jacking it up, and walking the world.
  2. Our pitching has been awsome. Our offense needs to get their head out of their ass. We cannot be up only 1-0 when Gaudin is pitching. Thats a joke.
  3. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 01:49 AM) You guys are so lame. Pods' d has been good this year (I know, sample size). Yeah, you can question the 9th inning of last night's game, but Pods had been playing good d to that point. Pods D is good? Okay goodnight everyone.
  4. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 01:37 AM) If Scott really has a problem with getting pulled late in games for a defensive replacement then something seriously needs to be done about him because he has some serious mental issues. Either he comes to the realization that he sucks in the field and pulling him is best for the team or he figures out how to catch and throw because if he's really going to pout or react poorly to Ozzie doing what's best for the team then Pods isn't much of a team player. The wierd thing about baseball, no matter what level. You put the little leaguer who has 2 left feet in RF the ball finds him. You put Mack in CF, the ball finds him. Guess where the ball goes 2 times with Prancer in LF in a 1-0 game. Bingo.
  5. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 01:35 AM) I blame the fat dude in your sig. The fat dude in my sig is to blame. Also the guy who left the prancing bad OF in a 1-0 game, and said prancer who tried to head the ball on goal instead of using the big brown soft thing on his right hand. Baseball travelling like that hurt, even for self defense, put the big brown leather thing on your head and protect yourself.
  6. QUOTE(iamshack @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 01:28 AM) To rest this entire BS on Scott Podsednik is just absolutely s***. Jesus, get off him already... I blame the ball, how dare it hit Hotty Scotty in the melon. Doesnt it know that fat 13 year old girls with Mrs. Podsednik shirts who go to the cell would be destroyed if the ball hit his face. Thank god it didnt hurt his most prized posession. f***ing gravity, pulling on all objects till they rest on earth. I blame Gravity.
  7. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 01:27 AM) That's exactly it. I'd really like to know what Ozzie's thought process was in that situation. This is what was going threw his melon in that situation " I AM THE GODAMN MANAGER AND MAKE THE f***ING LINEUPS. "
  8. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 01:26 AM) ... Anyways, I still think it's laughable to call it "Ozzie's F Up." A defensive replacement may have helped, but there's no guarantee that what likely would've happened, which is ba in CF and Erstad in LF, means that throw is made on the money or that last out is caught. I'm still putting about 80% of the blame on Jenks for just flat-out not getting the job done. That's what pissed me off the most. Jenks blew dog. No question about that. Prancers OF defense in LF was horses*** also. The ball bounced, it bounced off of his melon. If a baseball can come crashing down on your head, your mitt can be put up to catch it.
  9. I found our problem. Ozzies magic 8 ball is broke. He shook it and asked, should I put the devil Anderson in for a defensive replacement. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 01:21 AM) I don't know. We seem to second guess everything he does, or doesn't do, so maybe to him, it's regular not to make defensive replacements, or make bullpen changes too often, etc. What we never seem to find out is why Ozzie does what he does. In a 1-0 game Slav. How many 1-0 games with a terrible OF, do you not replace him defensively.
  10. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 01:16 AM) If I did call it then why wouldn't I post about it? I had a discussion on the board this morning about the use of Anderson as a late game defensive replacement and guess what? That just happened to play a big part in tonights game. I happened to be on the right side of the argument this morning, of course I'm going to talk about it now. It only makes sense. I just don't like it when obvious moves are not made and they end up costing the team runs or games, I'm going to b**** when that happens, you should probably get used to it. It could not have been more obvious, exact same talking points. I think people started questioning Pods defense when we actually saw him play defense in LF. Last year he was downright terrible. He was defensively replaced about everytime you could last year. This year, we leave him in. People need to review the game threads this year. I think there have been questions in all close games, why is pods still out in LF. Why hasnt he been replaced defensively.
  11. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 01:11 AM) How does having ba in CF guarantee that the ball gets caught in LF? Don't tell me you knew that's where the ball was going and would've had ba in LF. Well lets put Joe Crede in LF, and then put Dye at SS. Sure maybe they dont make the play, but there is no definitive proof that either's real player would of made the play either.
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 01:08 AM) Explain Interesting call about some theory about hitting the lip of the wall, and how the ball came down. And then some complaints about how bobby isnt the same and doesnt throw hard anymore. Same call
  13. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 12:47 AM) 2006 is making a horrible return right now, I actually managed to wipe the name Chris Rongey from my memory bank for 6 months. Fantastic. I feel likes its 2005 right now at least offensively.
  14. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 12:47 AM) Jenks needs to get those outs, plain and simple. He should. But our outfielders should catch those fly balls, not try to head them on goal.
  15. I forgot how bad the Pink Fuzzy Bunny was on the postgame. good lord.
  16. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 12:34 AM) It's clear your overreacting considering we're only 7 games into the season. What is Andersons role on this team. He doesnt start, he isnt a defensive replacement. If he isnt going to play, send his ass down and bring back Eduardo Perez.
  17. It went off his melon and not the wall. Thank you 65 inch TV and frame by frame TIVO.
  18. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 12:18 AM) So it's easier to blame the loss on Pods and Guillen because discussing the elephant in the room would be boring? It seems there are a lot more posters here blaming both of them than Jenks. Now why is that? Jenks sucked. And take a look at my tag. His largeness needs to find his fastball. Anderson, why is he on this team. Our offense blows donkey balls right now.
  19. Lets put our hands together for your Chicago Whitesox offense. Starting the game at .235, dropping like a rock. 3 hits against Guaudin. Thats pretty much Gabbard territory. But we happened to face this guy before. When o when with our O show up.
  20. The replay is comedy. Pods plays way in. Ball hit really high, pods runs back, gets to the fence jumps, lands, ball hits him in the melon. It takes a special defensive f*** up, when you can leap land and try to head the ball into goal. My god even Ronaldo would have a hard time getting that timing down.
  21. A line drive swing would be nice by a few of our hitters. This crazy swing as hard as you can, and popping up crap is dumb.
  22. QUOTE(kwolf68 @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 11:54 PM) Jenks spent most of last year with an ERA around 4.00, the writing was on the wall...I have little faith in him. You beat up on Pods, Ill beat up on the guy who actually can't close games. I'm so ready for Mac to take over this role. It was a fly ball, that he jumped, landed, then it hit him in the melon. It was catchable. Bobby blows the save yes, and he sucked today yes. But prancer cant catch.
  23. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 11:49 PM) Yes, Let's blame Pods over Jenks. There isn't a LF in the game that was gonna throw Bradley out in that situation. And the last play wasn't exactly a 'routine' catch. Bobby lost this game for us. It hit him in the melon. Sugar coat it whatever. If it hits him in the melon, 2 seconds after he leaps then tell me what it is.
