AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
southsideirish71 replied to greasywheels121's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I was at this game. Javy was awsome, and the bullpen manned up. BTW if you havent been to the park this year, check out the new montage video. At the end of the video when they go into Thunderstruck they have an animation of the cell with lightning going into it, like the natural movie. It has to be one of the coolest things, its hard to believe they could make that video better, and they did. Hats off to Brooks and whomever they had make that animation. It has to be the same people who make the Bulls intro video. I cant wait to see it when it gets warmer. -
I am okay that they postponed this game. For all of those die hard men's-men who say play it no matter what, remember you would be first on the list to b**** if someone got hurt because they tore something cramping up. I was looking forward to seeing Danks when I go tomorrow. Now I will just have to see Vaz dominate, and a whitesox winner. With Ponson/Silva we should be able to dominate. Its when "who shall not be named' pitches we are dead.

Masset manned up up. After throwing a few innings the other day, he manned up and tossed a gem. Nice pick me up after disaster with Buerhle going down. Massett turned some heads today, hopefully he can build some confidence off of that for the future. I cant wait to see Danks on Saturday in person. -

Game ball goes to Massett. Talk about balls, talk about a kid manning up and picking his team up and throwing a bunch of innings and keeping a good offense down. Nice job. -

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 03:56 PM) Mack, for some odd reason, is in to run. Where Ozuna is? I assume dead. Ozzie thinks this is the National League and he is double switching. He put a man who can play RF for a RF. Its a one for one match. -

Our late inning "clutch" hitting. Swing as hard as you can, fall over. Strike one Swing as hard as you can, make some contact, fouls back strike two Swing as hard as you can, make some contact fly out to the 2nd baseman. Just missed it. Next guy Swing as hard as you can, fall over, bats goes flying into the stands. Chuckle from Hawk, some story about Brooks Robinson Swing as hard as you can, and make contact Hawk screams, he jumps...the ball is caught just short of the track 2 gone Swing as hard as you can, foul straight back swing as hard as you can, check up, called strike Swing as hard as you can, ball bounces into the opposing batters box. Hawk yells run. 1-3 K -

QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 03:40 PM) 5 more feet maybe? Paulie K's swinging. 3 f***ing hits, and our guys are going for the fence late in the game. Back to the Grind is a smoke and mirrors campaign. Low and Away and let the magic happen. -

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 03:36 PM) You can bet we're going to see some 'hero' swings. Hopefully not from Erstad, though... Maybe they can surprise us. keep the swings compact and pick a pitch to drive instead of swinging from their heels from pitch one. -

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 02:38 PM) What an effective lefty/lefty combo to lead our lineup today! At least Erstad swings the bat, Pods is worried about showing a smile to the vast members of his 13-15 femalle posenik club. There are the goofy girls you see at the park with Tee shirts, and self painted on Mrs Posednik on the back. -

Pods should have a poster of him prancing over to the dugout after a backwards K. That is one of his best action shots. -

Masset has a lot of movement on his pitches. His two seamer has a lot of potential, and his tight curve that he locates low on 2 strikes is nice. Impressed so far. -

QUOTE(southsideirish @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 02:07 PM) It is sad when, through 3 games, some of your relievers have more innings pitched than 2 out of 3 of your starters. Very sad. Last year I got all over Ozzie for pitching his starters too much and tiring them. Well welcome to Bizzaro World. -

AJ thinks he is a power hitter. I would like him to go back to being a dangerous doubles hitter like he was in Minny. -

Masset has looked pretty good so far. His 2 seamer is moving good, and if he throws that curve low like that on 2 strikes he will get some strikeouts. -

QUOTE(Y2HH @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 01:22 PM) If they execute the bunt properly in that position it works...however, our team has been notorious to totally F up bunts in big situations like that, where the bunt is actually NECESSARY. You dont see too many times in the AL where someone leads off the inning with a double, and then the next guy squares around. I am sure that back in the 1930's they might of done that, but not now. -

Odd they were able to move the runner without the batter squaring around to bunt. I never want to see a bunt again with a man on 2nd and no outs.
