  1. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Mar 30, 2007 -> 07:18 PM) IP Thats easy enough to mess with.
  2. Okay MLB.tv question, how do they figure out the blackouts. Do they use your credit card billing address, or is it something setable.
  3. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Mar 30, 2007 -> 07:14 PM) That move is so awesome. He was safe. However it was a good move. Danks should be hanging out with Buerhle, picking up the pickoff move, the sinker and maybe the cut fastball. It will help him in the long run.
  4. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Mar 30, 2007 -> 07:10 PM) I've never heard of a manager putting his slowest hitter 3rd, especially when he has 2 other outstanding hitters with similar skill sets hitting behind him. Lets see Dye hit in the 3 hole in 05 for the championship run. Nah, lets throw Kong in the 3 hole.
  5. Now that was pretty situational hitting. Hit a nice fluid line drive and get the run in.
  6. QUOTE(southsida86 @ Mar 30, 2007 -> 06:58 PM) I forgot to mention that he clearly overthrew that pitch. AJ had to jump to keep it from being a wild pitch. It was a game in Seattle towards the end of the season. I think he was pitching against Moyer. The reason I remember it is because I didn't think he had that velocity in him. Maybe just maybe that was an error with the gun. I mean I realize the other day when the gun said 111 for a ball thrown in a ST game that it was probably an error, I didnt think for a moment wow 111, if he could only harness it.
  7. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Mar 30, 2007 -> 06:56 PM) His control is even more important than the velocity he lost last year. Even at 87, if he gets the ball up and too much of the plate he will get hit hard. He's been able to paint for so many years, I just hope he can get back to that. When he's on a roll, its a 2 minute inning. When Mark is at his best, he sets up right handers with a cutter that starts in and just digs in on their hands. It has a tight rotation, and is very hard to put into play fair. It sets up everything. He can then go away with the changeup and sinker.
  8. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Mar 30, 2007 -> 06:51 PM) Hawk never says Buerhle reminds him of Catfish anymore. Someone needs to kick Hawk because he is skipping. He keeps repeating the same 5 or 6 names of baseball players he compares several members of the sox too.
  9. QUOTE(southsida86 @ Mar 30, 2007 -> 06:49 PM) I know he is not a flamethrower, ha ha ha. Jamie Moyer is a junkballer. he can barely reach 88 with the fastball. Buehrle can probably hit 90 every now and then. In 2005 he threw a fastball at 94 He never threw the ball 94. If he hit 94, check the gun because its broken.
  10. QUOTE(southsida86 @ Mar 30, 2007 -> 06:43 PM) Would you guys consider Buehrle a junkballer? No he is a flamethrower. The radar gun is dialed down a bit, just for effect.
  11. Now Paulie hit that ball up the middle last time up, and now James tried to get one in and left it over the plate and he kills it. Taking away that outer corner will allow the sox to just kill a team, because it will force them to come back in. Nice piece of hitting.
  12. Changeups low and away are the Sox Kryptonite. Walker is probably upset that James isnt playing to their gameplan by challenging over the middle of the plate. Damn sneaky lefty, how do they get away with this.
  13. Wow more Grindstad this inning, I cannot wait.
  14. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Mar 30, 2007 -> 06:26 PM) Wow, I'm not sure what the hell Tadahito was trying to do right there. He's in for a huge let down this season if he wants to be a power hitter. Having him bat 2nd, allows him to keep closed more and wait on the pitch for contact. Walker has been working on getting around on the ball with Gooch more this spring, so that translates to looking like donkey balls when someone goes low and away to you. He will hit some monster shots, but at some point everyone will go low and away just like the rest of the right handed power hitters on our team. Uribe swinging at a ball over his melon for strike three. He is ready for the regular season.
  15. Watching the low and away changeup and how Gooch swings at it, I wonder what the f*** we are doing to help him out. Those were pathetic flails at it.
  16. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Mar 30, 2007 -> 06:22 PM) Good news is his stuff appears decent. Unfortunately, his location just isn't there yet His velocity is better than this time last year. But when you throw less than 90 your location is the difference between the majors and the minors. Ask Mr. Prior how his sub 90s velocity and crappy control is helping him out in Des Moines.
  17. My only hope for Buerhle is that he doesnt stink so bad that people dont want to trade for him. That would be the worst case scenario.
  18. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Mar 30, 2007 -> 06:18 PM) Ugh, I forgot just how bad Pablo is in LF. Another season of s*** outfield defense should be fun. but on the bright side, it shouldnt be any different than having Prancer play on the track and kick the ball.
  19. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Mar 30, 2007 -> 06:15 PM) joe crede fails to get a base hit. walks. he sucks Lets see if Mark Zito and his high socks are going to pitch better today. booo: he left the zito high socks at home The comcast gun perplexes me, as it has to be the most inaccurate gun out there. They must of bought it at the flea market. Its fast/its slow. You can be watching the same broadcast for the opposition and the gun ratings are different.
  20. Jermaine Dye hits a high and away pitch to right center field. Going gap to gap. He left the ball get back in the zone and hit it with authority. This is how you hit this type of pitching. You hit it hard to right center, then the catcher has to come in to get you off the plate. Then you bomb him into the 5th dimension.
  21. And it seems that we have a soft tossing lefty, and their catcher has setup a folding chair on the outside corner and will just pound low and away all game.
  22. So I know we K a lot with a power lineup, but what the f*** is going on. Everyones bat is missing the ball. Grindstad grounds out weakly to the 2nd baseman 2 out, no body on base. This will be how our first innings go most of the year. Paulie singles back up the middle on a low and away pitch. Nice job.
  23. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Mar 29, 2007 -> 10:17 PM) We'll be there. Where's JimH's invitation? /thread
